JerseyBills
Relax guys. We played a very good team and was a fluke play short of winning. We got a great team and coaches. And Dabol especially is making great play calls. Our D has looked great , despite the stats. I think Edmund's is the reason why, I feel he got fully healthy and has looked much better. We get Milano,Levi,Norman , Marlow back for the playoff run We'll be fine!

We're a fluke play away from being 8-2 and the quality of QBs we'll be facing coming up is nowhere near Wilson,Murray back to back. The defense also took a major hit the day before the game with the Covid players. We'll be fine. I'm surprisingly not even that upset today . The team proved again they can hang with anybody and are one of the best teams in the game Fluke play or 1 blown play the point is when you have a double digit lead you don’t blow it. I forgot to mention the Houston Playoff game. “Blowing a double digit lead in the back half of the game” is not the trait of a great coordinator!
Hebert19
2 hours ago, SydneyBillsFan said: True. But it's also a numbers game: - 32 v Rams - 28 v Fish - 24 v Raiders - 42 v Titans - 26 v KC (in BAD weather) - 21 v Pats (would likely have been 28 if Cam doesn't fumble) - 34 v Hawks - 32 v Cards These are simply not "Playoff Calibre" numbers. If I am McD, I am putting Frazier on notice. They are playoff caliber numbers this year. The average is crazy high. Now is it superbowl caliber...no. You pull out a D lineman and leave Allen in the end zone. It gives him a chance to play hero ball. If you ever played QB you would understand. I played QB and I think it's a bone headed idea. Samwell Tarly
Blame Frazier if it makes you feel better, but judging by average points allowed, the Bills are actually middle of the pack. Guess half the league needs to fire their DC'S. The league has bent over backwards to help offenses. Investing heavily in defense is an expensive strategy with diminished returns. Some of these teams are going to drop 30+ on you regardless, so fight fire with fire. The best defense now is putting up 35 or more.
blacklabel
They've said it a few times now that they're still developing an identity on defense. They lost a big time leader in Lorenzo, they lose Star who does the dirty work, they lose Shaq who does very well setting the edge. They lose Jordan Phillips who, IMO, isn't the worst loss, most of his 9.5 sacks last season can be credited to the secondary. And then there are a slew of players grinding through injuries, Edmunds, Tre, Wallace, Hyde, Poyer, and of course Milano who is a cornerstone piece to this defense. Addison and Hughes are solid players but they're both 32 or 33 and that's around the time when guys begin to lose a step. Quinton Jefferson hasn't been very noticeable, Harrison Phillips is struggling (is he still not quite right from the knee injury?), Ed Oliver is creating pressures a lot of times but not quite getting the sack or TFL, all sorts of things. It's tough for sure. They have the new guys and then they have to adjust for injuries and that type of stuff can take away from the chemistry teams can create. This is the most roster overturn they've had on defense in the McBeane era and I think it's just a long process to figure out the best lineup, the best way to maximize skill sets, the situations where players can be most successful, a lot goes into it. My hope is that they come back after the bye recharged and ready to knock out these last six games with sweet sweet victory. I expect the Beaneman to work diligently in the off-season to upgrade the defense. Edited November 17, 2020 by blacklabel
TBBills
The only real reason would be b.c the Bills are not allowed to have too many good times anymore. So they need to be beaten down by the gods themselves

You got a point but the offense and ST put the D in terrible situations nearly the whole 2nd half. After painfully watching the game again, the condensed version, my thoughts on this team hasn't changed. They are a great team imo and should make a deep run. In this game, there's so little that separates the great from the elite. I hope we can get to that elite status in the final 6+ games. Again, nothing changed from thinking this team can make a SB run after yesterday. Not only can we play with the big dogs. We are 1 of the big dogs. I have complete faith in the talent and coaching on this team.

The one DONK was a lucky bounce. Not to mention flag happy refs. 2nd half adjustments take too long imo and that’s why people complain about coaching

Win, and we are worried that another team will ***** him away from us, and ruin everything we have going with Allen...lose, and we can't get him out of town fast enough. We are a passionate fan-base, no doubt...but I really don't think, collectively, we are any smarter than fans in any other city. We are as bi-polar a fan base as it gets! From last year we have lost Star, Shaq and Jordan Phillips. We have gained Harry, Jefferson, Addison, Epanesa, Norman and Butler. On paper at least, I would argue that the difference in talent lost v talent acquired is negligible. I recognise that COVID and injuries have played their part but it is still hard to justify the substantial drop in performance. The buck stops with Leslie Frazier. I would have said the same about talent lost v acquired on paper, but the problem is that football games are played on grass, on Sunday We had a big opt-out in Star. We have his rotational partner at 1TDT Phillips not playing as well as he had been before he was hurt, which may be understandable, and our LB playing injured. So the talent we retained, is not as it was. Two other factors: 1) playing more good teams this year 2) Not saying he's become a turnover machine, but Josh and our ST have put the D in a few more bad spots more this year than they did last year after the first NE game. The Titans game was the worst. Even so, we're starting to see stretches of stout defense. They're just having a bit of trouble putting together an entire game. When your offense in two games scores over 70 points that is good right. But when your defense gives up 66 points that is bad in those same 2 games. Roasted. 60% of games in the NFL are decided by a score or less. Get over it. Let’s also neglect to mention it was against two of the top 5 offenses in the NFL. LB48
We have an abundance of TALENT on offense. We are short of TALENT on defense. You can coach all you want but if your players are a bit inferior to the opposition you lose!
