Pros are one thing. Those are adults getting paid.

They shouldnt force these kids to play, or even force them to make the decision. Just do what is best for the players and cancel the season while letting players maintain scholarships and eligibility. It really isn't that difficult.

They voted to have a season per DP ... but allegedly that wasn’t what the vote was for. Who knows wtf at this point

The SEC wants to play as far as I know and lots of the Alabama players (including Najee Harris) are on social media saying so.

Trevor Lawrence also wrote a very good piece in support of playing, in which he raised many valid points, to include the fact that the kids are probably more safe in school than they are at home.

Every player and every coach from every team In every conference wants to play and is tweeting about it

It would be a bummer if there is no NCAA football this Fall. I can also promise you that if they try to move it to the Spring then all of the players who are quality NFL prospects will sit it out as to not risk injury.

They should all sit out, nfl eligible or not. Because they should not be made to play two full seasons in less than one year. That is completely disregarding their health and safety

Yes, then it would truly show what it is all about. Greed. If it is about the health and safety of the players there would be no postponement to the Spring, but a total cancellation.

Kind of funny in away .  You have the "we want to play" movement.  But then you have this other whole player movement demanding certain things of the schools around player safety, etc.  Not saying they are at all wrong, but I wonder if these demands are part of what's driving schools to say cancel as they know they can't address these concerns.  In a way the players may have accelerated the desire to cancel.

Breaking news it’s cancelled. They plan to play in the spring instead.

How is that going to work?

Will all Seniors and Juniors who want to enter the draft just skip the entire season?

Are we looking at a bunch of Frosh/Soph squads?

Playing in the Spring is a joke. As others pointed out, the top prospects will sit and wait to be drafted (e.g., Justin Fields of Ohio St.). Stinks that he only had the one year at OSU.

With this decision, they should shut it down until next Fall.

My guess is the hope that fans could be let in by next Spring so they can collect that ticket revenue many programs rely on.

I agree.

Just cancel the whole season. Playing in the spring is pointless.

Of course it is.....easy to say "we want to play" now but then follow up later with "but we only will play if you do X, Y, and Z" and "and we want to sue the pants off you if anyone gets COVID".

The people making the decision here aren't morons.

That may be the decider for spring play, if we can get fans in we'll go with it.  While it may be mostly freshman and sophomores playing that will hurt the play this year, by say 2022 it could mean a more experienced level of play

It would be interesting to see the data that shows they are safer not playing football but attending class, parties, etc vs focused on football/classes.

It doesn't matter then as the schools aren't libel for it then if they aren't playing.

With them saying they are moving the season back to the Spring it just shows the greed behind it imo. If it was about player safety they wouldn't be trying to make their scholarship athletes have two football seasons within a single calendar year in 2021. Another thing about life ruined for the moment. :censored: Covid.
