My area in SoFlo has also instituted a curfew as well. 10pm-5am. The roads are already dead at this time. Strange to say the least.

I clearly don't see this the same way as the majority of the board, but that was NOT a good look for Trump. I've seen him "own" the room; many, many times.

That did not happen here; at all. The Hemmingway line was good, but this was a subpar performance.

He'll have some really interesting tweets later tonight.

Even the performances are getting tiring.  Yes, we know Trump's thin skinned and doesn't respond to criticism well.  Yes, we know reporters are just as narcissitic and want to be the one to "get Trump."  I get more out of watching Tiger King at this point.

Cmon-

Even if you are a Trump supporter you can’t buy some of this crap.

The man called this virus a hoax. He can’t now act like he was quick to respond. He need to stop politicizing and campaigning and put out the fire!

No he did not call it a hoax.  That in itself is a hoax.  What he referred to as a hoax was that this virus would be the next thing that the dems politicize.

A 10pm-5am curfew?  What is this supposed to accomplish?

Your guess is as good as mine.

Serious question; which is it? A pandemic or a hoax. The President just said that if we hadn't taken these steps, there would have been more deaths than the civil war. Yet most of the base thinks the entire thing is a media production.

I'm just not sure how those two ideas are reconciled.

If I were you, I would be more concerned about how you arrived at the conclusion that this is a serious question...

Well, no one is surprised that you can't figure out how to reconcile those "ideas", considering one of them is an idiotic fantasy you came up with.

Really?????????

Are you a Twitter guy? Virtually all of his big time proponents like Candace Owens and Charlie Kirk have a timeline filled with tweets claiming the numbers are fake, hospitals are empty, etc.

You are REALLY denying that a large percentage of Trump supporters don't believe COVID is especially serious? I mean, the seriousness of the virus is a legitimate debate as is the debate over whether or not we needed/need to shut things down. But it's willful ignorance to insinuate that it's "not a thing."

I'm actually pretty stunned by these responses.

A FEW TWEETS?????

Wow. Just wow.

So there is NOT a large segment of Trump's base that believe the seriousness of the virus has been dramatically exaggerated by the media and that we didn't need to go this route?

Again. Wow.

Large? I am not certain of that. There are definitely Trump supporters, and people who do not support President Trump,  who feel this has been overblown.

As been said, the postmortem on this will be interesting.

So you have it on some authority that a large segment, large percentage, most of, Trump’s base” feel the seriousness of this is exaggerated?

Two questions:

1.  What are you basing this on?

2.  Define Trumps base?

Both.

It's serious, but doesn't justify the heavy handed tactics. And the media coverage of this thing is a farce.

I actually agree. And here's the deal; the media coverage right now attacking Trump for acting too late IS totally unfair. You don't shut down a country under the circumstances we faced in January and February. I think his timing was solid. On the flip side, he was really erratic today and I do not believe it was a good look. JMO.

My point is simply to say that there's a disconnect between Trumps reference to Civil War death's and the rhetoric from his top surrogates from Hannity to O'Reilley to pretty much all of them.

It just feels like EVERYONE has become incapable of independent thought. It is what it is, but I appreciate the HONEST response
