I thought Fuller was a go, no?

NFL Network's James Palmer said he was a "longshot" to play.  We'll see though as disinformation is rampant when it comes to injuries this time of year.

I am not as down as so many are on Levi. All the “he sucks” talk you guys saying that should be ashamed. He is a serviceable corner and undrafted for a reason. His play has far exceeded what anyone thought.
All the bashing on him and we could of been soooooooo much worse off putting someone else out there.

Back to the point, I like Kevin Johnson getting a chance to play this game. What better way to stick it to your old team who labeled you a busted pick than to have a big game and eliminate them from the playoffs.

Can you share any recent examples? I’m blanking on this.

Recent, no. I remember an article about how the Pats mine Bills, Fins and Jets media interviews for valuable intel.

One instance I remember explicitly, this was a while ago, Fred Jackson was being interviewed after a big win and the reporter pressed him to explain how he was able to make a certain big play. Fred was really happy about it, and went into great detail about what his read was on the play and how the defensive alignment effected his decision. Now, maybe FredX was coached up to give misinformation, but I don't think so.

The article, if I remember correctly, said the Bills were amongst the biggest offerders at giving key information away during interviews.

I hope this is something McD continues to get better at coaching his team on... He and his coaching staff seem to do a pretty good job of handling the media without giving away specifics.

I do. The Bills historically have been terrible at giving away information in their player interviews.

There's a lot you can say about the current Bills administration and team, but being historically accurate to previous admins and teams is definitely not one of them.

This team doesn't give a crap about what has been historically done.

I don't disagree.

There are a few personnel situations that have Bills fans scratching their heads.  The team is doing great so no one's really complaining, but there would be more direct attacks if they were losing.

Why so little Duke Williams?  He sure looks better than Foster.  Isn't Johnson actually better than Wallace?  Does Patrick DeMarco actually ever play and accomplish anything?  But I remind myself that there's a lot that goes into every play and every decision.  A lot has to do with how a player integrates into the system -- do they recognize coverages and make the proper adjustments?  The coaches have better eyeballs than you and I do, and they know more about football than all of us put together.  And it's possible that some personnel decisions are based on how things are likely to go over the next couple of years as well as this year.

If the coaches think Levi Wallace is the better choice than Johnson, that's good enough for me.

From what I've read, he's gonna give it a go but no idea how much he'll be able to do.

Fuller's groin and Watt's pec. Let them both go full out and both will be sidelined for sure. Remember when Shady's hammy was less than and he tried to have a go. All the better if they actually took reps away from someone else!

K. Johnson is actually not a bad player....and actually has something to play for as this was his former team

K Johnson is a more physical and bigger bodied player. he has been over shooting some tackles underneath him unfortunately.

But he has great physical abilities.

I might be the Lone Fan of Levi Wallace and wish he was playing. Hopeful he gets 110% for KC .

K can get the job done and make big plays. but i want a safety helping over the top for most of the game.

Levi is a marginal cb. His cover skills are just ok and his tackling skills are worse than both Taron and Kevin Johnson. All in all a net gain.

Expand

Bills ask a lot from him. His tackling skills are better than K J.

Not sure Taron can even play outside. Different animal

Hope they dress him then, and take the risk.

If you believe anything that these players and coaches are saying ahead of the game, I am not sure what to tell you.

You actually think they would be giving away their plan in the media?  Now, I am not saying that Tre will be on him for every snap, but if he is not on him 80% of the time, I'd be shocked.

Expand

Yes. I think Tre was straight shooting and slipped up by referring to Kevin. I don't think he did it with intention to mislead the Texans.

That it’s the playoffs might mean they all actually have something to play for.

I think OP's point is that Tre specifically said Kevin Johnson will be covering the right side of the field which could mean Levi is out.

And yes, we play a lot of zone.  I don't think Tre has ever had an assignment to cover one WR no matter where he lines up.  Could be wrong.  Tre didn't Shadow Hopkins last year.

hes followed quite a few guys through his career, and this year too.

he didn’t have him every snap last year but if i recall tre even mocked that the Texans started hiding him in the backfield for some plays to get him out of tres shadow

Don't worry about it...they can just trot MacKenzie out there again and tell him just go cover whoever and don't worry about the scheme.

He actually make take snaps on defense in practice, just in case.  McD likes his players to be flexible.

I wonder if they could have Duke play safety, George Wilson made his career after transforming from a WR.
