Yannick Ngakoue?

I liked seeing the recent dysfunction in Jacksonville with the illegal treatments or whatever it is they were doing. It makes me think maybe Ngakue will want to get the hell out of there rather than re-sign. Adding him to this defense would be....just wow.

Ooooof this is my least favorite part of the year in football. I never understood making 20 mock drafts and all the gm’s and scouts on here fighting over who is best at what pick and then throwing temper tantrums when we don’t pick who they want. Especially this early when a million things change. I’m on to New England now ??

Ngakoue would be the massive move I would make to add some talent to the team. I think against elite playoff teams this team has 3 big weaknesses. A WR opposite Brown that can command attention, A prime time pass rusher off the edge, and a corner opposite White. If they can retain Shaq and Phillips while adding a big time pass rusher like Ngakoue the D-line would be ready to compete against any O-line in the league while still having that depth that allows them to rotate players. I think they can find a number 2 corner for a mid-sized signing and then address WR in the draft early.

Yeah, yeah, I know "wHo CaReS aBoUT mOcK DrAFtS?"

But they help get an idea of which players may be available, and which of our personal favorites might get scooped by another team.

Anyways, here's the breakdown on 1st Round WRs...

3. Washington Redskins Jerry Jeudy, WR, Alabama

6. Arizona Cardinals CeeDee Lamb, WR, Oklahoma

14. Cleveland Browns Tee Higgins, WR, Clemson

15. Indianapolis Colts Justin Jefferson, WR, LSU

16. Las Vegas Raiders (from CHI) Laviska Shenault Jr., WR, Colorado

18. Philadelphia Eagles Henry Ruggs III, WR, Alabama

23. Buffalo Bills

Brandon Aiyuk, WR, Arizona State

Yes, John Brown and Cole Beasley have been a big part of the Bills' offense in quarterback Josh Allen's second season, but that doesn't mean the team doesn't need more help on that side of the ball. Aiyuk improves Buffalo's receiving corps with his versatility and speed. But don't be surprised if the Bills consider an edge rusher or cornerback here.

Hmm, I don’t see it shaking out that way.

I don’t see the Colts going WR personally.

I really hope they consider trading up a bit. Jeudy and Lamb will likely cost too much, but I'd prefer all those fellas projected to go in the teens.

I'd rather see them stay at their spot, and use all of the 9 picks. Double-dip on WR. One in the 1st, and another around rounds 3-5.

I'd be ticked if the Bills make this selection at 23. Not when they could get Tylan Wallace/Tyler Johnson later.  Grab AJ Green in FA and let either learn under Green/Smoke tutelage. At 23, I want someone who's gonna play day one. Safe to say I'm not a McShay fan

Can't disagree with any of this.

#2 CB is more of a need than people let on. Levi Wallace is a pretty good player, but he's also one of the weakest link the Bills have on defense. There's no reason not to add someone talented to compete with him. At worst, you then have a very deep cornerback room, which is never a bad thing in the 2019 NFL. It's less of a need than Edge Rusher and Wide Receiver, sure, but it's certainly in the top 3-5 needs for the offseason.

Supposedly it's a very deep year for wr, so the double-dip idea is sound. I am still inclined to spend some draft capital to move up if Beane determines there is a stud wr within reach, but unlikely to fall to them. We particularly need a big, fast wr who can track the long ball, but an overall increase in playmaking talent at offensive skill positions would make this team very dangerous and facilitate Allen making another leap forward. Of course, we also have other needs including Edge rusher, lb, possibly cb, rt (imo) as Ford still looks to me a more natural guard -- though maybe not, apparently he's been a lot better recently, so what do I know? Free agency will alter the needs list, so what the top priorities are will likely change somewhat.

Maybe this 2020 off-season is where Buffalo trades that 1st round pick to get an established player who can have a big impact right away

wouldn't mind trading a 1st for a top WR. would look at one of the 2 WR's on the Bucs or OBJ.

Trade for a WR and draft one in like round 3. this whole offseason should be focused on offense. I'll puke if we take a CB or DE in the 1st round and have to watch another bottom 5 offense next season

A WR opposite Brown and a front line edge rusher are the two biggest most glaring needs beyond resigning our own players. Besides maybe Amari Cooper I don't see any front line WR's on the market. However there are several edge rushers who could fit that Bill so to speak. I think that given that the team could have 100 million in cap space if they cut Kroft and Murphy (two players of marginal value) this team could both resign Shaq and Phillips, extend Milano, Dawkins and White while also adding a big contract and a mid-level sized contract (Might have to let Spain walk as something has to give.)

But I really can see 2020 being a year where an already good team keeps its talent and adds the 2-3 key pieces they need to get over the hump. I trust Beane to add 1-2 pieces via the draft (along with depth) but I think they need to add one big frontline piece via free agency in order to complement what they do via the draft and what they already have on the roster.

I will bet you anything. Buffalo will draft for depth. Every starting need to come in free agency

I'll take that bet.

Beane will be very busy between extending our own and FA.  I agree that FA will be a big part, but, because he'll do so well the team will be able to package picks to move up and draft an impact player.  The window won't stay open for very long.  2020 & 2021 are key.

Then there will probably be a trade. Year 3 is usually a depth draft UNLESS a real stud falls

I’m not sure who they will trade for that isn’t a long shot.

??? AJ Green? He's shutting it down for next season. Will be fresh and Dr. doesn't see any long term effect from injury. Go get him Brandon.

AJ Green isn’t shutting anything down, he hasn’t been able to play since midway through LAST season. And the reports are the Bengals will tag him if they don’t extend him. They don’t want their best target walking right before Burrow gets there.

I will bet you a million Zillion dollars, there may be a stud or two but impact players will come in FA. Buffalo will draft late so you are talking less talented players AND the needs are few.

.

If the needs are few, why would you target depth??

The FA class isn’t looking that star studded. Clowney, Amari and Green will likely be retained by their teams. What big name FA WR will be gettable?

I’m hopeful for Yannick like anyone else but that’s one big name pass rusher and a lot of teams with cash who will compete for him.
