McDermott on no trades: "There have been too many years of irresponsible decision-making, let's just put it that way."

Ok but it definitely sounds defensive.  And some of those moves presumably were signed off on by his boss Terry.  McD hasn't won anything yet - ANYTHING.  He really should keep those thoughts to himself.

So until he wins the super bowl he should ignore and not comment on the past and speak exclusively in boring platitudes? Idk man that sounds boring...

How about beating the Patriots?  Or winning a playoff game?

Sure that too. I just could care less about Whaley, Brandon, Rex, et al. They all failed. This guy’s still on the job so he’s still got a chance to succeed. So if he wants to throw a dig at those guys every once in a while it doesn’t bother me one bit.

It wasn't just the size of the contract BBO, or even the cost. How about the dumb clause that was tossed in?

Btw, thanks for starting a great thread!

For sure man, but McD might as well shake his fist about how we didn’t draft Russell Wilson. At a certain point, it’s more grasping for excuses.

they took over a 7 win team and the very next year snuck into the playoffs while unloading riff raff and freeing up money. they are now gonna go ahead and win double digits with 90 mil going into the offseason. get a clue man....

and leave it to @C.Biscuit97 to most likely be the ONE person to actually like your post. that dude has been slobbin all over whaley since the day he left.

no blame. couldn't care less about them. they're gone. this ones better...… you have some odd allegiance to whaley. its really sorta weird.

Woods, Goodwin & Watkins.....  Yep a bad group of receivers.....

Again lot's of teams have money, however coming to Buffalo is a tough sell for a marquee player.....  10 wins with this schedule should be a minimum when you should have 5 wins vs. tanking teams (Miami, Washington & NYJ), have won vs. NYG,, winless Cincy and have upcoming games vs. Denver & Pitt without a QB.......  They then have dysfunctional Cleveland, Dalls, NE & Balt.....

10 should be the minimum & then a second place schedule in 2020......

And yet that is true about every team that hasn't won anything in the last 10-20 years as well as teams that have. The 49ers are very good right now but they made as many bonehead mistakes as the Browns, were horrible for years on end, and worse than the Bills. The Bills made a lot of awful decisions and yet were never completely awful like numerous teams have been in that same time

The only team since 2017 (start of McDermott term) to beat the Patriots and win a playoff game is KC.

They also did that in separate years.  KC beat the Pats* in 2017 but lost in the playoffs against the Titans.

They lost to the Pats in 2018 but won a playoff game against the Colts but then lost to the Pats*.

I'm just saying what you're asking for isn't easy.

Nobody said it was going to be easy.  But that's what he was hired to do.

They traded a late 3rd and a 7th that they got in return for cardale Jones

A late 3rd was still wayyyy to much.

That's a premium pick for a oversized , slow TE masquerading as a WR

It was terrible the day it went down and they were hoping on a prayer

Here we go again...... If you believe in The Process McClappity is bang on.....

This 5 year plan will soon be 6-8 and then they'll be a new set of excuses.

The offense makes no banes that it is about 17 points, no mistakes (penalties are fine, turnovers are not) and the defense being elite.

And again we line up on opposite sides.  Those behind The Process applaud him, others shake their head & think :More of the Same".....

Don't you ever tire of being a one trick pony?

Agreed.  I still have hope for this year, although I see many have given up with only 7 games played.

Hard to win in the NFL birdies coming out of the woodwork. Makes you start to wonder.

I didn't mean that at all and you know it.
