18 U.S. Code § 872: “Extortion by officers or employees of the United States.”

I still don’t get this extortion rhetoric. The United States doesn’t owe the Ukraine money. It’s essentially a gift. You cannot be charged with extortion for NOT giving someone something you DON’T owe them.

I can promise you this. If and when the conservatives become the minority they won’t be acting like sad whining saps that the cry baby left has evolved into. We may lose an election now and again but I’m not going to sell my integrity.

Actually I was just pointing out a fact. You guys making excuses for Trumps lawlessness, incompetence and arrogance is also an example of  "whinny saps" mentioned by deek

This may pose a real problem to you. Who will have left to blame if the Democrats take control and your Utopian dream falls short?

Yes, with leadership comes responsibilities.

The GOP will have to change also to push us. That's good. Competition makes us all stronger

I don't see many people making excuses for Trump here. I see posters searching for truth, and logic.

I don't think you would see truth if you ran into a wall of it.

No quid pro quo.

There was quid pro quo.

Trump arguing with his own underlings about which is accurate.

So, which statement is truth?

Hint: They can't both be true.

“Did he also mention to me in passing the corruption related to the D.N.C. server?” Mr. Mulvaney said, referring to Mr. Trump. “Absolutely. No question about that.” He added, “That’s why we held up the money.”

There’s no way forward from this nonsense. These folks are literally selectively cutting up audio, video, etc to get the outcome they want.

Most are just unaware of how programmed they are, how much they've been lied to. Thus, they cloak themselves in talking points and propaganda rather than stopping to think for themselves. That's Kemp. He doesn't know his ass from his elbow because he keeps believing the words of proven liars and manipulators.

Others are just dishonest partisans who lack principles and only root for their "team" because they see politics as more important than the real world realities of the policies their side pushes. That's Gary and his alts. They want to "win", and if they can't do that, then they troll.

Since when is a quid pro quo illegal or even wrong? Life is full of quid pro quos. If I ask you to kill someone for me and offer you money for doing so, that is a quid pro quo and is illegal and wrong. If I give you a dollar for a candy bar, that is a perfectly good quid pro quo. Foreign policy decisions are nothing but a quid pro quo. This administration had concerns that Ukraine was corrupt and would not cooperate with AG Barr and his investigation into the 2016 election including Crowdstrike. They could have made the loan guarantees subject to conditions around that investigation and there would be nothing wrong with doing so. They didn't even bother to do that.

Those of you idiots trying to make something more of that phone call just highlight the fact that you have nothing other than trumped up accusations.

If withholding US taxpayer money from gifting it to a foreign country until that foreign country helps get to the truth of what happened in the 2016 election is quid pro quo, then sign me up all day every day!!!

essentially the communists/socialists/globalists are upset that Trump is trying to find the potentially most important piece of evidence in what they asserted was the absolute most important issue in the history of the country and that’s the election “interference”. Strange times indeed.

Stuff like this wouldn't happen if it wasn't successful.

You can find plenty of leftists who still insist Trump called all immigrants garbage. It gets repeated over and over and over to leftists, who share the same mutually beneficial traits of (1) being in capable of independent thought and (2) repeating what they hear on every social media platform in the free world.

To paraphrase a leftist blurb; Not all idiots are Democrats, but all Democrats are idiots.

Crayola's resume includes once sitting as 3rd Chair in an actual courtroom and another time filing a motion that he won. I make fun of you but in reality you are probably more qualified to sit on Burisma's board than Hunter Biden ever was. I'll always first think of you as 3rd Chair but now I can also always think of you as that guy who was more qualified than Hunter Biden.
