I have a off the wall idea Conference winners should get a playoff spot. BUT They are seeded by record as a WC and not guaranteed a home game. The only snag what happens if 3 teams have a better record than a div winner. the lowest of the W/L record still loses out Edited October 22, 2019 by SlimShady'sGhost

TigerJ
At 5-1, I'm not terribly worried. Take care of business and we'll be fine. Beat Philly and Buffalo needs to have four more wins in the last 9 games to have a very good chance at a wild car berth. Five wins in the last 9 games and a wild card berth is almost guaranteed. Frankly, this year, even a 9-7 record leaves Buffalo in good shape. I'm looking for bigger fish to fry, however. I'm hoping New England falters a bit in the second half and Buffalo comes to life on offense. We've got one more crack at New England, in New England. I'm not writing that game off as a loss just yet.

Can the Bills maintain their current status as a team that finds a way to win? Will the weather and long season impact Brady this year like it appeared to last year? Will the fact that NE has not been able to generate the same running attack this year come into play later in the season? People want to crown NE division champ because of their history. I see a team that’s one loss away from it spiraling. I hope that’s not something I say about Buffalo in January.
SlimShady'sSpaceForce
Doom and Gloomers Your beloved Buffalo Bills are still in control of the 5th seed aka #1 WC spot. http://www.nfl.com/playoffs/playoff-picture The Colts very narrow victory yesterday propelled them into the #2 seed and the KC loss dropped them to the 4th seed. The Texans with a win dropped to the 6th seed. (I guess losing to an NFC team DID help the Bills ) ESPN Way too early playoff picture https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/27943032/way-too-early-2019-nfl-playoff-picture-afc-nfc-standings-week-8 5. Buffalo Bills (5-2) The Bills have played the way many thought they would this season, powered by a strong defense. They have mostly survived with a below-average offense, though. So when their defense encountered a bad matchup, as it did Sunday in a 31-13 loss to the Eagles, they couldn't count on their offense to make up the difference. The Bills are averaging 18.1 offensive points per game, No. 24 in the NFL. Tellingly, they're the only team with a winning record ranked in the bottom half of offensive scoring. Can that formula hold up in a wild-card race? Edited October 28, 2019 by SlimShady'sGhost

What do the Dolphins Expose when they beat the Patriots time and again down in Miami? Nothing I'm wondering if the Bills opened their traps and couldn't back up their words. My BBFS is in full swing. The offense hasn't looked good really all year save for maybe the Giants game and the defense just got beat down on their home field. I know Allen has good 4th quarter stats but he really needs to take care of the ball. The Bills are missing a game breaker on offense. They have nobody who can take over the game and wreck an opponents game plan. At the start of the year I was of the belief that they still have one more year of building and I am circling back around to that thinking. Still waiting for that game where the offense doesn't need the defense to bail them out. Hopefully we see it this weekend! Hope I don't derail the thread because I enjoy looking at what needs to happen but for the first time in forever the Bills just need to win. They don't need help from other teams they just need to handle their own business. Here's hoping!

EmotionallyUnstable
http://www.nfl.com/playoffs/playoff-picture Still holding a two game lead on a playoff position, and sit one game ahead of the colts (6th seed). Regarding the teams in the hunt: Steelers: (4-4)...if we beat them as we should, it will add to the head to head battle plus bettering out record. They have an easy schedule in the next couple weeks, playing the Browns twice, the Bengals and the fish. Chargers (4-5) and Raiders (4-4): These teams play next Thursday...hoping they beat the crap out of each other. In fact, they play each other twice still this year. Hopefully they split these head to head games, which will leave very little room for err the rest of the way. Jags (4-5) and Titans (4-5): I’m not concerned about either of these teams making a real push. We had the head to head vs the titans and the Jaguars have a tough few games ahead of them (Colts, Titans, Chargers, Raiders). Again, let these teams beat the crap out of each other. Broncos (3-6) and Browns (2-6): With both these teams left on our scheduled, beating them as we should will effectively eliminate them from contention (at least as far as we’re concerned) Edited November 4, 2019 by EmotionallyUnstable
