Saw it on Friday night and is it just me or did anyone else find it awful?

Some people even walked out in my theatre.

The way it ended was brutal in how they finally killed IT

How about a spoiler alert, as the movie hasn't even been out a week?

Not me, thoroughly enjoyed it. Great casting, especially Bill Hader who was tremendous. It did feel a little long near the end, but I was never bored.

Really? even how they "shrunk" IT?

I agree about Hader. He was brilliant

his depth on SNL was astounding, one of my top 4 picks for the best since I started watching in 1975??

Without going into too much detail, I enjoyed the characters and the interactions between themselves a whole lot, that aspect carried the movie for me.

Now, if you want to slam a highly-rated recent horror movie, I will gladly submit “Us”.

Havent seen it and guessing I shouldn't now lol

Don't get me wrong. I still liked the movie just was disappointed with parts of it. Also felt they went a little overboard with the CGI

I wouldn’t say don’t check it out, but there were things that happened at the end (part of the reveal) that really made no sense.

I read the book back in the late '80's and kinda remember it having a weird ending too.  Great book though.

Apparently it was Finn Wolfhard from Stranger things that recommended Hader to play him as his older self. They apparently asked the younger cast who they think should play them as adults.

My biggest issue was how long and how loud it was.

Loved the cast though.

Especially Hader.

Started watching Barry on HBO the day before we went to see IT.

I personally found the original IT terrifying

Also loved the book

My neighbor watched the original with his 5th grader son last week.  Each day after school, the kid cuts through my backyard on his way home.  There's a drain in the back corner and I'm going to tie a red balloon to it on friday.  I can't wait to see the reaction.

I have seen advertisements that you can buy a 6' animated Pennywise from Wayfair online, if you have some money to throw away and really want to scare him.........

I agree with you. Was very disappointed in that movie also. They sure built it up though, but it was one of those that I disliked. In regards to "Us" movie that is...... Haven't seen the new IT yet.

It's a natural extension of the first one. Maybe not as good, but great acting and character development.

IT the book has a crazy, mind-***** ending. Really hard to pull off in a movie if they're trying to stay true to the source material.

IT would be much better as a 10 hour TV series, to allow the writers to explore all the elements of that story (especially the ending).

Word is that Andy Muschietti is working on a director’s “super cut” of It that will be almost 7 hours.

That won’t be for everyone but I can’t wait.

I joked to my friend that "I'll wait for the 8 hr director's cut" and I had no idea they were doing this, lol

7 hours sounds about right ?
