OK - why the h#ll do we not have a new punter?!?

The main issue of course has been his inconsistency.  You just hope he doesn’t shank one when we’re deep in our own territory in the 4th Qtr.

Looking at the stats for last season, Bojo was tied for 16th in the NFL with a 45.1 yard average.  He was tied for 21st in Net Average at 39.4 yards.  This is a stat with many factors.  For punts that are returned, a lot is on the coverage team.  If one guy is caught out of his lane, it could result in a long return which messes up this average.  Of course, punts with a good hang time may not be returned.

Bojo had 22 of 45 punts returned, which isn’t very good.  For comparison, the leaders in Net Avg were Morstead of the Saints and Hekker of the Rams and each had 43 punts, with only 12 each returned.

in summary, Bojo is definitely not one of the better punters in the NFL, but he’s also not the worst.

Seriously.  I’m asking the veterans and experts on here. Is there some conspiracy theories out there or what?

Does not make sense.

Just couldn't get one. If BOJO  (bang one, jerk one) cant get it together this year then getting a top punter needs to be a priority. We have 90 mil cap space maybe we have to buy one.

He was a below average punter last year prone to absolute howlers (dropping the ball before getting a chance to punt and botching a snap / fake - whatever it was supposed to be). This offseason his basic punting has been a lot worse too.

The Bills tried to get Colquitt and he ended up going elsewhere. They have obviously looked at the rest of the market and not been convinced by the options. Bojo is going to hurt them in my view. He has a huge leg but no technique whatsoever.

Very simple answer: They are waiting a week so if they bring in a veteran they don't have to guarantee his salary.  In the meantime, Bojorquez has one week to change their minds.  I hope he never has to punt this week and no wisecracks that it will be because of turnovers.

I don't get the obsession GMs seem to have with avoiding guaranteed salary.  Say you avoid having to pay a punter $2M by doing this (a very high estimate).  Even if you lose just one game due to your crappy punter, was the cost avoidance worth it?

What are we talking about... 3-4 yards here and there MAYBE? He has had some good ones and has been part of the team. Maybe the coaching staff has decided it's not worth the hassle. We'll either be good enough to win with an OK punter or we're not.

His shanks have been 25 yard punts.

As the resident punting expert, I can neither confirm nor deny the

existence of a vast league-wide punter conspiracy against the Buffalo Bills.

There’s a career in politics waiting for you, kid.  (No, I didn’t misspell that.)

Look on the bright side, maybe we'll finally be the team that just goes for it on fourth down all the time and revolutionizes the game!

Making amends for previous ‘cowardly’ decisions from previous coaching regimes.
