seven&nine
I'll always remember when DA went 2 for 17 and like 20 yards for the Browns against the Bills... and he still won.

At least two weeks to familiarize himself with enough of it. So Peterman is likely safe for the short term. But I don't see this as a move to push Allen to the bench. There is nothing to gain by having Andreson play. I see this more as a move to improve the backup situation if Allen gets hurt and to give Allen a veteran voice to lean on. He's been given the week by getting signed on Monday, he has experience in this system. I'll be surprised if Peterman is on the team in any way shape or form. So no one else is worried about JA getting hurt because he can't get rid of the ball quickly? I was concerned about 4 different joints getting broken on that one sack/fumble against the vikes, the one our TE recovered. People at his feet, taking swats at his arm. For that reason alone I'm okay with Anderson starting, because I am on the side of Allen not being ready yet. Doesn't mean JA wouldn't get some time on the field, just not the lion's share. He's getting very little out of having 1.5 seconds to throw the ball.

Guys like that don't want to flush it all to work with one team and have to rebuild their client base all over after the team changes staff. Their pay by a team is not that great TOO btw. I know a super successful therapist and he mentioned that me. I talked to some of his peers, same thing. Just look at therapists, doctors, trainers, strength coaches that many players get on their own, in all team sports. But I'm sure Palmer could be hired for a few week stint... I think Allen getting experience is worth the risk and I don't see any upside to starting Anderson other than not putting Allen out there. Don't get me wrong I can see the argument for having an option to pull Allen if he just looks like he is going to get himself hurt out there. But I think you have to give Allen a few more games to see progression in his ability to get the ball out quicker. As far as Peterman I think he sticks around for next weeks game if not two more games. QB's take a lot longer to learn a playbook and get acclimated. It doesn't hurt to have one extra week of having a QB that is fully entrenched into the offense on the roster.

RussellDopeland
The term "mentor" quarterback to me is a misnomer. Call them a "confidant", or "sounding board" QB instead. Kelly always appreciated Reich for serving in that manner. Marino said the same thing about Don Strock- Farve praised Jim McMahon for this as well. I think a veteran who knows and understands his role (Anderson) is much more viable in this sense than the shell-shocked Peterman.
