We are continuing to see some very negative predictions about the Bills 2018 season. The consensus seems to be that the team is bad, because the personel decisions have been bad. Do we trust the process here, or are these guys right? I was feeling good before Cincy, but now I'm feeling like maybe there is real reason to doubt. Will we really be the worst in the league? Is our trajectory downward or middling again? Someone please give me reasons not to believe what these guys are saying.

Did you believe them last year when no one picked them to make the playoffs?  Did you believe all the local media and a large portion of this board that thought they would win 6 games last year?  30% of Superbowl teams don;t even make the playoffs the following year.   Injuries can completely destroy a team and turn a division upside down.

The question that is creeping in my mind is - Are the Jets better than the Bills?  Their defense could be legit top 5. People on here think our defense will be good put I'm skeptical of a defense that can't rush the passer nor stop the run when needed.  I see a bottom 5 linebacker group, a below average D-line, and a hole at DB opposite White.  Is the Jets offense any better/worse than the Bills?  Far less playmakers on the Jets but their O-line may be as bad as ours.  I see 6-9 wins for both teams and I can make arguments for either team being at 6 or 9 and may be largely due to the head to head games.  A sweep by Buffalo of Miami and the Jets gives them a legit shot for 8 or 9 wins if they can pull an upset of one of the first four games.

I find it hard to believe that a McDermott coached team is going to finish last.  I think he's got the makings of being a very good coach and getting the most out of his players.  While last week 1's was a train wreck, it's preseason so you can't take much stock in what we're seeing with no game planning and all the experimenting they were doing which is the right time to do it in the preseason.  I'm not expecting much from this team this season maybe 7-9 but I better see better QB play and improving defense this year.  The plan should be spend in FA next year, draft OL help, and make another playoff run next year.  That's what Philly did and so can we.  Go Bills!!!

You don't have to figure this out in the next 10 minutes.

Watch the games and try to enjoy them.

We'll all find out soon enough if these predictions were accurate or not.

I don't really follow other teams as much as I'd like. So, the question that crosses my mind is: Who's worse?

From the article:

Only a few other squads are in the conversation as the league's worst.

Cleveland finished 0-16 last season yet made significant changes throughout the roster. The Arizona Cardinals have a veteran quarterback in Sam Bradford to lean on (until Josh Rosen is ready or needed). The Tampa Bay Buccaneers added Jason Pierre-Paul and Vita Vea after finishing dead last in total defense a year ago. Ryan Tannehill returns to the Miami Dolphins, while the franchise underwent a locker room cleansing. A year later, the non-tanking Jets still have some issues, but they're far more settled at quarterback than Buffalo, even if a fellow rookie starts.

The media is usually spot on so I probably would believe what they say.

I see what you did there.

I believe the media as much as I believed Bill Clinton....when he sternly looked into the camera and said "I did not have sex with that woman.....".

Everyone was wrong last year but generally not when it comes to the Bills. They see a poorly built roster with Nathan Peterman likely the starter and a rookie who was over drafted as the heir apparent.

This is not a good team and everyone except some delusional Bills fans see it.

2017 Bills were supposed to be the worst in the league.  Rodak even said "...their season is over before it began."

Click-bait.  The Bad Luck Bills are easy to bash.  Or, to give a straight answer, no.  The Bills are not the worst team in the league.

Over drafted according to who, you?

What happens when a fan is overly negative and says everything is terrible and bad, are they also delusional?

It’s okay to be perceived as bad and then earn respect by doing better.

Preseason polls don’t matter in pro football as they do in the NCAA.

i define mediocre as less than 11 wins in a season.
