By reading he would fall in the third Bullet here. So yep seems he has PS eligibility

In order to be eligible for the practice squad, players must meet one of the following requirements:

  • Have no prior Accrued Seasons in the NFL (An accrued season is six or more games on the active roster);
  • Have one prior Accrued Season in which the player was on the 46-man active roster for no more than 8 games;
  • Each club will be permitted to sign a maximum of 4 Practice Squad players who have earned no more than 2 accrued seasons of free agency credit;
  • If served two seasons on a practice squad, are eligible for a third season only if the team has at least 53 players on its active/inactive list for the duration of that player's employment.
  • A player has served one season on the practice squad if he is on the practice squad for at least 6 games. The rule previously required 3 games on the practice squad roster.

Wasn't he the QB2 for most of last season for six or more games, which means he was in fact on the active roster?

3rd Bullet applies: Each club will be permitted to sign a maximum of 4 Practice Squad players who have earned no more than 2 accrued seasons of free agency credit

On a separate note as far as training camp is concerned, I'm a little disappointed we haven't had a chance to see Trent Murphy really do anything. This is supposed to be our starting DE and he's been MIA with a groin injury and now is supposedly continuing to feel pain after practicing. This was one of the bigger acquisitions for us and we still don't know what we're getting. Shaq may be safe after all.

Murphy read your post and shook his head. He will be out 3 weeks with neck soreness.

What exactly do you expect the Bills to get if they trade Peterman or McCarron?

There is nothing wrong with carrying three QB's. All of which are on friendly salaries.

And through most of camp, the one player that has hit the radar is Croom. Now, would it be a shock if he doesn't make the team?

As long as you can get “something” sounds like it’s worth it. Not to mention that there’s a good chance you will need 3 qb’s at some point, exp if two already went down (albeit for a day)

He is and has been bleeding reps for days now to the other TEs. This regime did not Draft him. That typically spells bad news for player

I get the picture, yet O'Leary was playing with the starters against Carolina.

This regime also inherited Logan Thomas.

Joe B: 7 observations from 2018 Buffalo Bills training camp - Day 14

(WKBW) - The Buffalo Bills have only two days of training camp remaining, which means the Bills are closing in on the halfway point of the preseason. On Monday, we saw the confirmation of all the changes we witnessed during practice on Sunday by seeing similar things happen once more.

The big draw is what happened at quarterback, and what could happen if things follow the present track.

What stood out on Day 14? Seven observations from the day of work:

1) Josh Allen moves up
2) Trent Murphy injured again
3) Robert Foster has a bounce-back day
4) Bills continue to push Milano
5) Some movement at running back
6) Wyatt Teller continues to improve
7) More changes with the cornerback depth chart

Day 14 MVP: WR Robert Foster
- After a rough camp, Foster had to feel great about all the plays he made on Monday. He looked like the same player we saw in the spring practices.

Day 14 LVP: DE Trent Murphy
- He looked hampered by his injury and not able to make any counter moves in one-on-ones, and then had to sit out the rest of the practice with an injury. It's not all his fault, because it looked like he didn't have full trust in the injury just yet. The Bills need to focus on getting him healthy by early September above all else.

3 things to know from Day 14 at Bills camp

1 – Josh Allen practices with the second unit
Throughout training camp, head coach Sean McDermott and his staff have used a quarterback rotation in which each quarterback would see time with different groups. However, on day 14 of camp, a switch was made. Josh Allen spent the entire practice with the second team offense, marking the first practice in which the Bills have used this defined quarterback setup.

2 – Zay Jones returns to full contact
For the first week and a half of training camp, wide receiver Zay Jones was first on the non-football injury list and then practicing with a red non-contact uniform. However, Jones took the field today to participate in his first full contact practice. While practices do not always hold the same level of physicality as live games, it was a relief for Jones to get back into the full swing of things.

3 – Bills gain defensive line help
In Thursday’s contest with the Carolina Panthers, Bills defensive tackle Star Lotulelei injured his back against his former team. The injury was not considered serious, and Lotulelei missed just two practice sessions before returning today.
