People get so upset about these sort of things.

Look at the schedule folks, we are going to be an underdog in 7 of our first 8 games,  His comments are not outrageous or uninformed.

I remember looking @ last years Saints game and thought that will be an easy win for us , especially playing at home , things change year to year , injuries/suspensions happen !!!

I’ll admit i didn’t think we could win 5 games last year , so I’m not going to doubt this team & this couching staff , to be honest I don’t even care what our record will be or if will make the playoffs or go 0-16 , what I’m hopping for is that Josh Allen will show us enough where we can say we’re finally have  our franchise QB !!!

You never know how its gonna shake out until the games begin. Denver and Atlanta were 2 automatic losses last year...right?

This team can beat anybody. This staff has turned it around. The defense will be stout. The offense is a mystery though. I see a similar record as last year, maybe 7-9. Hope its better. Excited to see 17 and that big arm.

A sample of his work from last year:

Bills:           7-9      not as bad as I thought

Browns:     5-11    winless

Jets:           0-16   Bad either way

Eagles:       8-8     Whoops

Rams:        3-13   big miss

So predictions are inaccurate by definition, his are pretty poor overall.

Thanks for posting this...I was just about to ask if anybody knew anything about his prediction for us from last year.

I agree, i would happily watch this season go by if J Allen turns into our franchise QB.  We are going need to give him some real toys (legit WRs, healthy TEs, RBs that aren't 100 yrs old) and a competent cohesive OL.

Agree 100% , I really believe who ever our week one starting QB is ( EVEN ) if it’s Peterman, will STILL be an upgrade over what we had last year ,

If Allen wins the starting job it wouldn’t surprise the least bit if McBean will make some moves to help the Kid succeed , after all its also in his best interest for Allen to become a successful long term BILLS

( franchise) QB !!!

It's funny.

When Prisco was praising Josh Allen and the Bills for picking him, everyone said he was a smart guy.

Now that he's back to his usual "shitting all over the Bills" act, he's a clueless !@#$.

So...which is it?

He maybe right and our record could be 3-13

but to make any predictions (NOW )  before the TC and not even knowing what our 53 man roaster will look like ( IMO ) just a little premature to make any reasonable predictions

Jags in the Super Bowl is enough to tell me this is garbage.

Is Bortles going to be a 1,000 yard rusher.....in the playoffs? Because, well........

Never mind, and I apologize to anybody still dealing with PTSD.

Come on Augie, keep up. Jerry Hughes tackled Bortles sometime near the end of June.

I was not a Josh Allen supporter pre-Draft (I am now due to his choice of uniform), but it *can* be both....it can be that Prisco Pete sees the very real potential Josh has and the balls it took to Draft him 7th overall with the projection toward the future, while underestimating the current state of the team's ability to be better than 3 wins....again, I'm not saying the Bills are automatically at playoff team, but i do think 3 wins is pretty low for this roster and coaching staff, mainly the Defense as the side I think is the backbone of how the team fares. But, if the Offense is truly putrid I can see the Bills bottoming out at 5 wins and if the Offense is this year's version of last year's Defense - as in better than expected - I could also see the Bills as a 10 win team. Either way, it is possible to see Prisco in both lights....IMO

I don't like it, and I don't totally agree with it, but the Bills could be in for a very rough start to the season. And that's my own formulated opinion, not based on what the pundits say. Unfortunately, the points that they make, and training for such a poor season, are very realistic and not bold at all. I think they win at least 5 games, and probably overachieve a bit again this year, but I'd be genuinely surprised if they win 8 games. And I'm okay with a down year, as long as the arrow is clearly pointing up by the end of the year.

I agree that this season in particular means nothing as long as it ends with Allen consistently performing in a manner which suggests he has a strong chance to become a franchise QB, even if he makes a lot of rookie mistakes along the way.

If he looks like EJ Manuel Part II, we will not only have a horrible record this year but we will also be right back to where we were, pre-Tyrod.

And that's not a good place to be.

Heres how it works with anything related to the media or the stat sites.

Something good about the Bills = Credible

Something bad said = Wrong and/or clueless

Bills fans have such such fragile egos that constantly need massaging.

I'll tell you another funny story.

A few weeks before the draft, on some boring day with no NFL news to speak of, some "expert" said the hot rumor was that the Cleveland Browns were going to take a guy named Josh Allen #1 overall....

The thread quickly lit up with "Of course they are, they are the Browns" jokes.

A few weeks later, we drafted Josh Allen, and then it suddenly became a wise choice.

I could care less about such predictions, positive or negative.  But I would just ask a couple questions about why so many, including a number of TBD participants, keep thinking a playoff team from last season will for some reason go into the toilet this year:

1.  Offense:  predictions are that the offense will be terrible.  But what changes have really been made?

     a.  Taylor for McCarron:  I presume McCarron starts.  And is he really a dramatic drop off at the position?  TT ran well, but at times was a liability in the passing game.  McCarron should get the ball out quicker and do better on the passing end.  So kind of a wash here.

    b.  O line:  Groy I presume starts at C, and he did well when he filled in for Wood a couple seasons ago.  RT is still an issue, but Dawkins looked very good at LT, and the G you have the same guys at RG as last year.  Really it's filling in for Richie, so that is a loss to be sure.

    c.  WR:  Same cast as last year except for Thompson, and you figure one of the rookies gets that shot.  So is it a stellar group?  No.  Any worse than last year?  No.

    d.  Changes OC's to a guy in Daboll with experience in two big time college and pro programs.

So overall the offense wasn't great last year, probably won't be great this year, but so much worse it accounts for such a dramatic fall off in results?  No.

2.  Defense

     a.  D line:  Better at DT with Star and Harrison.  Better at DE with Murphey and hopefully with a slimmed down Lawson.

     b.  LB:  Drafted a potential stud in Edmunds.  MIlano comes in with more experience.  And the kid from Jacksonville St may be that hybrid kind of guy McD likes.  So worse than last year?  Doesn't look that way.

    c.  DBs:  Strength of the team, and you add a solid vet in Davis at CB, some potentially good rookies, veteran at the slot, and the safeties still look really good.

So overall the defense looks very solid, certainly as good as last year and likely better.  So is this the reason we see such a fall off in record?  No.

3.  Coaching:  McD is in his second year, and that experience should help him with game day situations.  Frazier provides continuity, and Daboll replaces a guy that didn't appear to be that great at OC.  So is this the reason we go from 9 wins to 3?  Don't see that either.

So what exactly explains it, because I can't find the glaring reason why a playoff team should drop six games down from last year to this.

I think 1a, 1b and 1c might a be worse than you think. But I think the real reason people are predicting the Bills to struggle is that the start is really rough. It is almost a schedule of two halves. The question is if they are 1-7 or 2-6 through 8 games do they keep trying to win? Wouldn't be stunned if Beane at that point traded Benjamin, possibly Shady (depending on any potential suspension obviously), Jerry, possibly one or two others. If they don't do that there are routes to recovery in the 2nd half of their schedule.
