Can't do that while it's still useful to leftists.  If they can't rile up 20-somethings over their "right" to cut up and vacuum out a tiny human, how will they ever get out the midterm vote?

Aside anecdote: I was sitting in a small movie theater a few days after Kennedy retired and some boomers took three seats across the aisle from me.  They started talking about Kennedy's retirement and one old B word was harping on and on about how distressed she was that her daughters might have some difficulty procuring abortions in the future.

Bitching and moaning about your daughter losing the right to kill your grandchildren.  If that's not peak boomerism I don't know what is.

Democrats on the brink

How many Democratic Senators will vote to confirm Brett Kavanaugh? I suspect the answer depends on how many Republican Senators will.

If Republican Senators don’t break ranks, the votes of their Democratic colleagues won’t matter. In that event, a few Democrats will probably break ranks and support the nominee in order to enhance their re-election prospects.

But if it requires Democratic votes to confirm Kavanaugh, I don’t think any Democrats will supply them. It will be too difficult to explain to Democratic voters why they cast the votes that confirmed a nominee too “radical” for Susan Collins, and a nominee who will move the Supreme Court to the right.

This is all conjecture, of course. I might be completely wrong. What we know is that at least two Democrats facing tough reelection campaigns in red states are positioning themselves to vote to confirm Kavanaugh if it seems politic to do so.

Are the two really that different?  For all the upset and drama with this pick, in the end it's just a guy who replaces another guy where the only difference will pry be more conservative on a few social issues (gay marriage, abortion, affirmative action), but will make similar decisions on big businesses, voting rights, the 2nd amendment, and campaign spending that conservatives are happy about.  Just making a big deal out of nothing.

Doc, you've been around, they get in and then they do WHATEVER THE HELL THEY WANT in their decisions.

by the second time you have realized the media has no clue at all about the mindset, and the answers to the Hearings can be broken like a pie crust

Interesting developments here!

WASHINGTON — Rod J. Rosenstein, the deputy attorney general, has asked federal prosecutors to help review the government documents of Judge Brett M. Kavanaugh, President Trump’s Supreme Court nominee, according to a letter obtained by The New York Times on Wednesday.

Mr. Rosenstein’s request was an unusual insertion of politics into federal law enforcement. While the Justice Department has helped work on previous Supreme Court nominations, department lawyers in Washington typically carry out that task, not prosecutors who pursue criminal investigations nationwide.

And this! Connected? Did Cohen's hush money go to pay off these debts?

Quote

Supreme Court nominee Brett M. Kavanaugh incurred tens of thousands of dollars of credit card debt buying baseball tickets over the past decade and at times reported liabilities that could have exceeded the value of his cash accounts and investment assets, according to a review of Kavanaugh’s financial disclosures and information provided by the White House.

White House spokesman Raj Shah told The Washington Post that Kavanaugh built up the debt by buying Washington Nationals season tickets and tickets for playoff games for himself and a “handful” of friends. Shah said some of the debts were also for home improvements.

In 2016, Kavanaugh reported having between $60,000 and $200,000 in debt accrued over three credit cards and a loan. Each credit card held between $15,000 and $50,000 in debt, and a Thrift Savings Plan loan was between $15,000 and $50,000.

The credit card debts and loan were either paid off or fell below the reporting requirements in 2017, according to the filings, which do not require details on the nature or source of such payments. Shah told The Post that Kavanaugh’s friends reimbursed him for their share of the baseball tickets and that the judge has since stopped purchasing the season tickets.

Shah did not provide the names of the friends or additional details about the tickets. Kavanaugh, who is known to be a Nationals fan, declined to comment.

So, in other words, he's like most americans.

Except he actually paid it off in a timely manner

Only prog fascists could spin "he's not rich enough to pay for Nats season tickets up front unlike the other SC justices" into some sort of character flaw.

Everyone connected to Trump is corrupt. How'd these debts get paid off so quick?

If if he isn't confirmed by mid terms and Dems get the senate, he is toast

so Trump will keep sending back another one just like the last 2

6 1/2 years to go, so he will be filling at least 2 more vacancies

thank goodness

It's called a "paycheck". People get those when they "work" at some form of "employment".

I don't know about you koko, but I use my paycheck to pay off my credit card before it gets to high. You know, the smart thing to do.

Now that the dust has settled after the selection it's time to focus on what the Senate needs to ask Judge Kavanaugh.  You know, the important stuff

What not hot actress does he think is hot?

What average looking actress does he think is hot?

What hot actress is he not attracted to?

What are his favorite commercial women?

What is his favorite non chocolate candy bar?

What is his favorite fast food french fry.

If he could build a dream fast food meal, what would it be?

If he could go back in time to high school, what would he do different?

What's his favorite Beatles album?

Seen anything good on Netflix/Prime/Hulu?

Any advice on a new TV?

And of course the most contentious national discussion of our time: Soda v Pop

He had 200K in debt suddenly disappear, cause you know he didn't have the 200K in the first place..but nothing to look at here. Just a civil servant who came into 200K .

He is eminently qualified based on his judicial history.  As were the other current judges whether they be more conservative or liberal.  Elections have consequences, and this last one means you get more conservative type judges.  Does that mean every decision will be conservative from now on and overturn a lot of precedent?  No.  Roberts will become the Kennedy like swing vote.  Roberts is keenly sensitive to how the Roberts court will be considered historically and will not allow the court to careen towards either political extreme.

Kind of like Maxine Waters and her 3 million dollar house? On a public servant salary?

He had purchased the tickets with and for a group of friends that reimbursed him for the tickets to come across the money.  Just a civil servant with friends and pooling money for tickets.

It's being reported that he paid off his debt by selling of decisions in cases to the highest bidder...

Sorry, it will be reported.  I believe Elizabeth Warren is scheduled to bring it up on the second day of his confirmation hearings.

So, do you think she has communicated with the Shaman to determine if she should make him run the gauntlet before his confirmation hearings? Has she taken burning at the stake off the table?

As if it's limited to one side.  The crying over Sotomayor by Republicans, the crap with the Garland nomination was equally absurd.

The majority of people in this country are moderate, conservative in some ways and liberal in others.  At some point the majority will get fed up and the days of the fringe elements on both sides running things will be over.
