James Comey urges voters to choose Democrats, warns that 'history has its eyes on us'

Former FBI Director James Comey on Tuesday said “history has its eyes on us” and encouraged Americans to vote for Democrats in the upcoming midterm elections.

Comey, who was fired by President Donald Trump in May 2017, issued a tweet urging Americans to snub Republicans this November.

“This Republican Congress has proven incapable of fulfilling the Founders’ design that ‘Ambition must … counteract ambition,’” tweeted the former FBI director, a longtime supporter of Republicans. “All who believe in this country’s values must vote for Democrats this fall. History has its eyes on us.”

Lordy, Lordy ,  another walks away

He quotes Hamilton (the play, not the man because Comey is that guy), but completely fumbles the meaning of Federalist Paper 51.

Well, this is interesting...

Republican National Committee fundraising is fiery hot: the RNC has now raised $213 million for the 2017-2018 election cycle, at least $100 million more than the Democratic National Committee raised during the same time period.

The RNC raised $13.9 million in June, a record for June in a non-presidential year, as The Washington Free Beacon reports. In addition, the RNC has no debt and $50.7 million cash on hand, quintupling the cash on hand held by the DNC.

The DNC didn't do as well apparently. Now, that does not mean individuals in specific races are not doing well with fundraising And of course, it could also mean that the D money is being very targeted. Still, it does not look like people are eager to simply generically support the DNC socialist platform.

Fundraising is not an indicator of success.  How much did the DNC out raise the RNC in 2016?

Mrs. Clinton's total expenses were $565 million,  Mr. Trump spent $322 million

Which re-enforces my point above

On a somewhat related note, I recall both major Presidential candidates loaned their campaigns personal funds

https://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=18764750

https://www.npr.org/2016/05/04/476783557/donald-trump-shifts-to-fundraising-after-loaning-his-campaign-38-million

How is that even legal?  A loan generates interest which means a campaign "loan" can be used as a private revenue stream

Come clean, B-man, did you tell 26CopyPaste that you were going to be gone for a couple days and he should fill in for you? We like you. You're a member of this conservative circle jerk, baby killing and grandma extermination group and although you copy and paste a lot we know you can state a case in your own words. 26CopyPaste on the other hand has never used the keyboard but is proficient with his mouse, so you can imagine the difficulty he had in carrying on a conversation here. I told him he was wrong about tariffs and he sent me back a recipe for meatless lasagna in response. Please don't ever let him know when you're going to step out of the circle jerk again.

It is historically especially in the House and Senate in the midterms.  94% of the House races and 82% of the Senate races were won by the candidate that spent the most money in the last midterms.

https://www.pbs.org/newshour/politics/money-pretty-good-predictor-will-win-elections

As for the last presidential election, the idiots on the cable news channels gave Trump an estimated 5 billion dollars worth of free air time.  I find it hilarious that CNN and MSNBC don't hold his rallies live anymore.  They gave Hillary around 3.2 billion in free air time.

This a complete farce. All the dark money, outside interest groups, big money donors are not counted in the campaigns.

But a relatively small number of wealthy donors are willing to simply generically support the Republican nonsense platform...don't leave that out.

Macron Adviser ‘Put On Riot Gear and Attacked Anti-Government Protesters’

One of French President Emmanuel Macron’s senior aides is at the center of a bizarre scandal in Paris, where he’s accused of donning police riot gear and personally attacking anti-government protesters. Alexandre Benalla, an assistant to Macron’s chief of staff, was filmed targeting a woman and a man during May Day protests against Macron’s employment reforms—he was identified by leading French newspaper Le Monde. In the video, Benalla is seen grabbing a woman by the neck and charging her down the street, then hitting a young male protester in the head and apparently stamping on his stomach. It is not clear if Benalla was attending the protests in any kind of official capacity—he was filmed wearing an official police visor but he was not in uniform. Benalla has been suspended for two weeks without pay and has been moved out of his role of organizing security for the president’s visits. The Paris prosecutor’s office announced Thursday it was opening preliminary investigation into the allegations.

Two things:

1. I don't think you get the "Walkaway" idea.

2. Your post just shows what fascists those "liberal" supporters of Macron are.

do they have a grasp of how the French divide their powers federally?

polls, useless totally, don't realize that no African-American is going to admit they are GOP or moving over to it.

the privacy of the voting booth is all that matters

so keep saying there is nothing here.... assumed 99% voting Dem and never thinking about or actually switching...  :D

More broadly, when the left is shaming Republicans into not admitting they're Republicans, they're introducing an inherent inaccuracy into polls by making it less likely Republicans will respond honestly...or at all.

The left thinks they're "winning" by silencing the right, and use polls as proof...when they're simply introducing bias in to the polls.  Probably not much, maybe a 1% skew.  But that 1% is the difference between "Hillary polling well" and "Hillary winning."

There certainly was last November.  Once Bernie was eliminated by the Democrat party , many walked away and voted for Trump. Even many that voted for Barack.

Trump's racist judicial  nominee is forced to walk away

Quote

In an extraordinarily rare move on Thursday afternoon, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) withdrew a circuit court judge nomination after Sen. Tim Scott (R-SC) indicated that he would not vote for the nominee, causing other Republican senators to follow suit.

According to a GOP source familiar with the matter, Scott, the only black Republican senator, raised concerns to Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL) about Ryan Bounds’ college writings which allegedly included racially charged comments and other controversial statements.

Rubio, the source said, pledged to vote against Bounds alongside Scott, and “more Republicans [were] heading to ‘no’” on the nomination as a result.

McConnell then withdrew the nomination—but not before huddling with his top deputy, Senate Majority Whip John Cornyn (R-TX), in his office off the Senate floor. The saga unfolded just minutes before the scheduled 1:45 p.m. vote. By 2:30 p.m., it was over.

Thank you! It was because of the selectively released hacked and weaponized emails. Do you understand that? This shows exactly how the Russian influence campaign worked. It also shows collusion, because the Trump campaign jumped all over this in the attempt to suppress votes.

Imagine if they had hacked Trump's taxes and helped Hillary

Darn, I almost forgot, Paul Manafort was still Trump's campaign chair when that happened...gees

Yeah...Hillary won 55% of the popular vote, but 90% of the superdelegates.  Never mind the campaign finance fraud of bundling DNC, Clinton and state party contributions so that Clinton had access to some 95% of the DNC's war chest.

i fully understand and have many people in my life who are "Bernies"

i respect their views, it's usually the result of some thinking and reading and learning

i don't usually agree with them but it makes for good discussions, and you need the push for the underclass like this in discussion

as to liberals, i don't have a clue what they want or think they are accomplishing....

or who they think they are fooling...

I could at least respect the Bernie supporters who refused to take the primary rigging lying down.  Not so much the ones who simply said "oh well, I guess we'll go for Hillary now that she cheated us out of our guy".

NOW HOW ABOUT THE REST OF US?

The Democratic Party Apologizes to Black Voters.

Snark aside, this suggests that the #WalkAway campaign is having some impact.

"Indeed, the evening’s themes were, in some ways, an implicit critique of the first black president and the shortcomings of his tenure, beginning with Perez’s apology to the very voters who twice put him in office. Obama has long faced criticism that, under his leadership, Democrats neglected voter mobilization and were unable to extend the president’s personal brand to candidates up and down the ballot. The party lost the House and Senate, governors’ races, and hundreds of state legislative seats during his two terms."

Translation:  The Democrat Party uses black voters and now black voters know it.   Hence, #WalkAway.

Isn't the elitist Trump just using rural voters even more so? Tapping into their distrust of the outside world to push his agenda that makes himself and his global buddies wealthier while trying to take away the poor people's access to health care.

This is just the Trump University scam on a larger scale

Har har! The freak show leader says he doesn't do freak shows anymore! Walking away I'd say...

Quote

Rep. Trey Gowdy (R-S.C.), who led the House committee on Benghazi with its long hearings and who now chairs the committee investigating Russian election interference, with its long hearings, said Sunday that public hearings amount to a “freak show,” which is why he doesn’t “do many of them.”

The assertion raised some eyebrows among those who have observed a succession of public hearings chaired by Gowdy.

Gator keeps childishly posting non-topical remarks to the thread, and then throws the word walkaway with it..........................

I suppose the fact that many independents and moderate dems are repulsed by what the democrat party 'leaders' are saying and doing is stressful for him.

It is a small number, but enough to affect that "firebell" .........B-)
