Keep telling me that it's about safety.

The State of California has banned singing in any indoor religious services, even with masks on, under new guidelines issued by the Department of Public Health to control the spread of the coronavirus.

The new guidelines state

Even with adherence to physical distancing, convening in a congregational setting of multiple different households to practice a personal faith carries a relatively higher risk for widespread transmission of the COVID-19 virus, and may result in increased rates of infection, hospitalization, and death, especially among more vulnerable populations. In particular, activities such as singing and chanting negate the risk- reduction achieved through six feet of physical distancing.

*Places of worship must therefore discontinue singing and chanting activities and limit indoor attendance to 25% of building capacity or a maximum of 100 attendees, whichever is lower. Local Health Officers are advised to consider appropriate limitations on outdoor attendance capacities, factoring their jurisdiction’s key COVID- 19 health indicators. At a minimum, outdoor attendance should be limited naturally through implementation of strict physical distancing measures of a minimum of six feet between attendees from different households, in addition to other relevant protocols within this document.

California had begun re-opening places of worship a few weeks ago, as the state had succeeded in slowing the spread of the disease. But a surge of cases since early June — coinciding with the eruption of the Black Lives Matter protests — has caused the state to reinstate many restrictions.

They have too many lines.  No place in SF is more than 2 blocks from a Muni (subway) BART (Bay Area Rapid Transit)  trolley, or bus line.

I know I mentioned this before but it bares repeating. My wife got deathly I’ll when we live in the city. It was a virus of some sort that made breathing difficult, hell almost impossible at times. It lasted 3 months. She swore she got it riding MUNI. When she got better she dumped MUNI and bought a scooter. It was fun living in the city while we did but I have never been as sick as I was when I lived there.

Berkeley students planning fraudulent course to circumvent ICE rules, avoid deportations

Students claim at least one faculty member is on board

Hundreds of students at the University of California, Berkeley are discussing a plan to create an in-person course solely to circumvent new U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) regulations that could result in the deportations of international students on F-1 visas  -- and they say at least one faculty member is on board, Fox News has learned.

The plan, which could run afoul of immigration law if enacted in its current form, was hatched hours after ICE announced Monday that foreign students in the country are required to take some in-person instruction or they will not be allowed to legally remain in the country.

"berkeley students are creating a 1-unit, in-person, student-run class to help international students avoid deportation due to the new ICE regulations," a Berkeley Urban Studies student wrote in a now-deleted tweet, which has been archived by Google. "love my school sometimes."

The tweet was shared more than 25,000 times before it was taken down. It linked to a longer Facebook post stating that a member of the Berkeley community had "found a faculty member who will sponser [sic] this."

Holy shite can you imagine if this state flipped? Is it a possibility?

The idea that everyone in LA did their own fireworks to stick it to Newsome is just not real, in my mind. It happened all over the country because people just wanted their fireworks.

That said, CA will never flip as long as they preserve the perfect cocktail of equal parts 'everyone gets a ballot, regardless of residency status' and 'ballot harvesting is legal."

It's no accident Dems hold a super majority in Sacramento.

....yet ANOTHER well thought out Cali solution......release 'em and immediately bus them to Democratic voter registration sites.....makes sense.........

California could release up to 8,000 prisoners to prevent coronavirus spread, officials say

Cases in San Quentin State Prison soared following the transfer of more than 100 inmates from another prison.

By Louis Casiano | Fox News

California will release around 8,000 prison inmates early in an effort to slow the spread of the coronavirus in state correctional facilities, with more than half expected to return to society by the end of July, officials said Friday.

The move will allow prisons to use the extra space to impose social distancing rules, isolation and quarantine measures, the state Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation said in a statement.

“These actions are taken to provide for the health and safety of the incarcerated population and staff,” CDCR Secretary Ralph Diaz said. “We aim to implement these decompression measures in a way that aligns both public health and public safety.”

This is what NY tried to do (moving the inmates between jails) the Union put a hard stop to it. They were in the process of moving Inmates from Weschester County which was at the time the current hotspot to NNY where we had no cases at all. Of course then Andy and Bill released a bunch of there inmates anyway.

West Virginia mail carrier admits attempted election fraud

Eight mail-in requests for absentee voter ballots had their party affiliations altered, authorities say

Associated Press

ELKINS, W.Va. — A West Virginia postal carrier pleaded guilty Thursday to altering mail-in requests for absentee voter ballots.

Thomas Cooper entered the plea in federal court in Elkins to attempted election fraud and injury to the mail, U.S. Attorney Bill Powell said in a statement.

Cooper was charged in May after eight mail-in requests for absentee voter ballots had their party affiliations altered.

Cooper, 47, of Dry Fork, held a postal contract to pick up mail in the three towns in which the voters live and delivered the forms in April to the Pendleton County clerk, according to a federal affidavit.

An investigation by the secretary of state’s office found five of the ballot requests were changed from Democrat to Republican with a black ink pen, the affidavit said.

Bennie Cogar, an attorney general’s office investigator who conducted the probe on behalf of the secretary of state’s office, said in the affidavit that the Pendleton County clerk called some of the voters after receiving the requests because she knew they were not Republicans. The clerk then contacted the secretary of state’s office to report the alterations.

On the other three requests, the voters’ party was not changed. However, in addition to the “Republican” box originally checked in blue ink, the word “Republican” was later circled in black ink, the affidavit said.

This story confused me since what was gained? Does WV have a special rule in regards to party affiliation? In FL it matters for primary but otherwise it is inconsequential. Was it to prove how easy fraud is?

In preparation for November, the state is launching a ballot-tracking tool that will quickly alert voters if they need to take action, such as adding a missing signature. Another change: The state is extending the window for mail ballots to arrive to 17 days after Election Day.

Seems totally legit.

At least those people would be earning money.

Also, please accept this gentle reminder not to spend next month’s welfare check on MAGA/KAG gear.  Perhaps instead you could use such funds to purchase a face mask.  Thank you.
