Yeah. He played the background (instrumental) music while the real coaches did their thing.

Career backup QB to career backup OC.

Why settle for second best??

....but he's NOT at OBD so what's your beef?......Jesus...........

I disagree that was the only reason he got the interview, but neither of us have any way of knowing so there's not much point in me trying to argue it one way or the other.

I am also not so sure he will never get another shot at a HCing gig.

Right now, the flavor seems to be younger and/or less experienced/first time head coaches, probably due to the success of guys like Pederson, McVay, McDermott etc.

But when some of this new wave of young/inexperienced head coaches inevitably fail, NFL teams could very well go back to hiring more experienced head coaches again.

These trends seem to be cyclical.

If Frazier continues to do good work with Buffalo's defense, and the Bills become a successful franchise, you can bet he will get some looks.

A lot of it will (likely) depend on the Bills and what type of success they have. NFL owners like hiring successful assistant coaches.

There are a lot of ifs in your argument. If the Bills become a dominate D and if the league shifts their trend. By the time those happen, he will be over 60. I can't think of the last coach a team hired after the guy turned 60.

However it happened, this is a great move by the Colts.  Hopefully they'll actually give Frank the five years to overhaul that roster, it's a mess.

They have been in bad shape since the end of the Polian reign and througout Grigson's time there as GM.  Plenty of work to do to rebuild the roster.

Very Risky,  The F Reich is a rookie hc, an ok offensive coach.

Colts are in bad, bad shape.

This is potential career decision if it continues to go south.

The guy that drafted tebow first saw the wiriting on the wall. Head scratcher, he must of really wanted out of Philadelphia

Generally speaking newly hired coaches are taking over teams in bad shape.

Only one I can think of off the top of my head is Bruce Arians, who was hired by the cardinals in 2013 at 61yrs old IIRC. I would guess that there's been more but I'm not sure. It's definitely not the norm though.

But I was mainly just answering to your definitive statement that he will never be a head coach again. I don't see where you can say 100% that he will never get another shot. It all depends on how things go. It only took what, 1 coaching cycle for the league to go from old to young, so it can happen quickly. And so can the interest in Frazier if Buffalo's defense continues to rebound. He already got a HCing look after just this 1 year.

I am not saying it will or wont happen, just that you can't write it off so completely as an impossibility.

It’s kind of obvious.  It’s sad really.

He’s upset that Leroi was banned and wants to stir up  ?

No, we just don't expect much from you.

Frank had previously worked in Indy in 2008 as an offensive assistant and quarterbacks coach for the Indianapolis Colts. After Tony Dungy retired following the 2008 season, former Colts quarterback coach Jim Caldwell took over as head coach and Reich became the new quarterbacks coach.  Reich switched to wide receivers coach  in 2011 but was dismissed when the entire coaching staff was released after a 2-14 season.

Congratulations to Frank.

For the Colts, it seems to me that the lines of the Stones song are quite apt "You can't always get what you want, but if you try sometimes, you might just find, you get what you need".

Now and then, you just get a feeling about someone, that they are the right guy for the job, and I've thought that Frank would make a good HC for a few years now. Providing it's not at the Bills expense, I hope he proves me right. ;)

I like rap. I like rock

That song is awesome.

Hopefully FR kicks prooves you right and trades us that 3rd overall pick. B-)

Awesome! So happy for Frank Reich!

I think Andrew Luck will be happy with this hire...

Ill always remember Jim Kelly and other SB era Bills talking about how important Reich was to that team, and especially to Kelly himself. I remember Jim saying what a huge role Frank played in helping him prepare for opponents (and stuff like that).

Yes, I think is why the no huddle worked - Jimbo was hardly cerebral those days.

This also means Frazier is staying.

Well unless Frank asks Bills to sign him ....

What are you taking about?

I can’t believe I’m conversing with someone so paranoid to think that I’m another member.

And to speak in plural sense. I see an underlying condition that I’m not going to exploit.

Welcome to my ignore list. It consists of one. You or we or whatever.

Please accept my apology, I didn’t realize.

Both of these can't be right.

Sure they can - one can be OC for running and other OC for passing; teams have done it in past.

Looks like Yates' source got the right scoop vs. LaConjecture's

Maybe poor sources will get blocked by him but I doubt; he has proven he throws crap at wall like a previous Bills source from locker room who has been banned from here now.

I think McDaniels is kind of a "Shi* Show" of a HC candidate.  Stunk in Denver (and had another videotaping scandal there), and gets cold feet because he's afraid he'll get exposed away from Brady.   Dude lacks confidence.  I'll be surprised if he gets offered another HC gig (except Pats**, but have fun w/ that after Brady retires).

Exactly. I have a feeling the Colts will wind up being very happy that McDaniels bailed on them. Congrats to Frank Reich! We all know career backup QBs make the best coaches.
