WOW This logic which is so prevelant on here of bypassing QBs we can win with and have exciting stretch runs in December and playoff games in January to instead lose and put all you eggs in one basket gambling on a draft pick blows my mind. Its like not investing 10% in your 401K every year because when you turn 60 you're going to start buying lottery tickets. This years stretch run culminating in PLAYOFFS was AMAZING!! Seems like a lot of y'all just wanna complain about that loss. It is possible to do both. Win with a vet and draft QBs. Build the team up around whoever you have so when we do find THE GUY, we can plug him in and kick it up a notch. But I'm a QB in hand guy. I'm digging this with winning thing. Its long overdue. But if we're going to Alex Smith, I'd rather just suck and get a high pick. Neither of those guys are winning two games in January and if you don't do that, what's the point. The stretch run in December was not amazing. The most exciting play all year this team had didnt even involve the bills. December games were awful. Did you watch them? Pats loss - boring, no offensive td Colts win- only entertaining because of the snow, the football was not entertaining Pats loss - boring, 2 out of 3 games with out an offensive td Dolphins win- boring, dolphins were flat, bills did what they needed and the game didn't matter given the help they needed. December... was boring. But you can go on some purist bs or whatever and how you just love your football. If this is winning to you, then I feel bad for you. Andy got Smith for a 2 round pick and a conditional pick. I didn’t find what that pick turned out to be. With 5 more years of wear and tear I think a 3 rd and conditional pick is suitable. Buffalo won't be the only suitor for a QB that threw for 4042 yards, 26TDs, 5 INTs with a rating of 104.7. Smith is far and above Taylor. I would think that Arizona, The Jags, the NY Jets, the Browns, the Broncos, the Redskins (should they lose Cousins), the NY Giants should the move on from Eli. Will all be looking to obtain a playoff "bridge" QB over a "maybe" rookie QB that could take years to develop. That's 7 teams he would be an instant upgrade for besides Buffalo!
