Man I hope the middle of the Jax defense doesn’t impact the game to much. Poz and Marcel will bring their A games on Sunday.

Poz is the 3rd LB on that team we should be worried about as fans. I have been joking all week and saying that if a hypothetical defensive play was drawn up where Telvin Smith, Myles Jack and Poz each had to cover 1/3 of the field, the actual responsibilities would end up looking more like a Venn diagram. 45% for Jack, 45% for Smith and a 10% overlap where they just cover for him

Flew back to school (midwest) today. Buffalo airport was unsurprisingly packed with Bills gear, but it warmed my heart to see more Bills clothing than any other sports attire in Atlanta this afternoon, even with Georgia's football game this weekend and many flights straight to Florida from WNY!

Around the NFL: Bills vs. Jaguars: AFC Wild Card Weekend Preview

Quote

By Chris Wesseling - Around the NFL Writer

The Backstory

It's been a long time between postseason appearances for both teams. Sunday will mark 17 years and 6,574 days -- the longest active playoff drought across the four major U.S. sports -- since the Bills fell to the Titans in the infamous Music City Miracle. Jacksonville, meanwhile, has gone nearly a decade (3,648 days) without a tournament appearance.

That's not the only common DNA between the two organizations. Jaguars head man Doug Marrone guided Buffalo to 15 wins over 2013 and 2014 before a clause in his contract prompted him to opt out as a rare coaching free agent upon new owner Terry Pegula's purchase of the Bills. Miscalculating his market, Marrone was forced to toil in obscurity as assistant head coach/offensive line coach in Jacksonville until Gus Bradley's firing afforded him a two-game audition that led to the permanent job last January.

For the first time this century the Bills are headed to the playoffs and Bills fans have found creative ways to celebrate this achievement and make their way to Jacksonville to watch the game.

It’s nearly impossible to quantify how many Bills fans will make their way to Jacksonville for Sunday’s AFC Wild Card game.  Via social media, Bills fans from all over the country are talking about their plans to converge on the city of Jacksonville for a festive weekend. Here are a few numbers that display how passionate the Bills fanbase is about Sunday’s playoff game.

Bills fans are making a serious impact on the ticket market for Sunday’s game ...

33% – According to Ticketmaster resale sales data, customers from New York have purchased 33 percent of tickets for the Bills-Jaguars AFC Wild Card game since December 31, 2017.  28 percent of the tickets have been purchased by customers from Florida in the same time period.

3X – According to Patrick Ryan of Eventellect, a ticket sales strategy company, Jaguars wild card ticket prices tripled from $80 to $250 in the first 24 hours after Buffalo was announced as Jacksonville’s opponent for Wild Card weekend.

Fairburn's prediction

Season record: 9-7

On the one hand, it's easy to the see the Jaguars turning this game into a blowout win if they are firing on all cylinders. Their defensive line and secondary have the potential to eat the Bills alive. If Buffalo can slow down Leonard Fournette, the game could get ugly. But there's also a path to a Bills' victory here. If Tyrod Taylor takes care of the football, and the Bills can get a few big plays on offense, they just need to put the ball in Blake Bortles' hands. Bortles has five interceptions in the last two weeks and has never played in a playoff game before. This game could come down to which defense makes the big play.

Bills 17, Jaguars 13

Talbot's prediction

Buffalo enters the playoffs for the first time since the 1999 season as big underdogs and it’s easy to see why. Jacksonville’s run game and pass rush match up very well against the Bills. Making things more difficult, Buffalo’s top offensive weapon will be at less than 100 percent. Anything can happen on Sunday, but it’ll be difficult for Buffalo to leave Jacksonville with a win.

Jaguars 24 - Bills 13

MY PICK: Jaguars 20, Bills 13.

One of the few matchup wins we have against them is either of our TEs or RBs being covered by Poz in the passing game.

Jville does a good job of hiding him, but hopefully we find a way to exploit that matchup.

McDermott’s Motto Change

Posted by Chris Brown on January 6, 2018 – 10:12 am

When head coach Sean McDermott was hired at One Bills Drive, his motto for how everything would be done, from studying film to meetings to practice, the mantra was ‘Playoff Caliber.’ Now that the Bills have reached the postseason, that motto has been upgraded.

McDermott explained why the change around the building at One Bills Drive had to be made in his latest appearance on Coffee with the Coach.

COFFEE WITH THE COACH (2:16)
Bills' Insider Chris Brown and Head Coach Sean McDermott talk about making the transition from 'playoff caliber' to 'championship caliber,' the message as the team heads in to the playoffs and a brief look at the Jaguars.

They need to put this up on the wall in the Bills locker room for motivation!

I have no doubt that they are fully aware of their status as big underdogs with almost all "experts" picking them to lose.

MUCH better for this team to be viewed as "Underdogs" IMHO. The "US against the world" mentality seems to work better with young groups like this
