The Pats most likely not getting a Home AFC Championship game would make me smile

I'm just enjoying the growing distraction that is blowing up on LA radio talk shows regarding the Brady/Guerrero trainer controversy.

Special teamer who has been on the roster since last season, where he also went to injured reserve in October. Good special teams guy, nothing more.

1. TOM BRADY, NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS  95.1 OVERALL GRADE

Brady took the league lead in big-time throws as he showed off impressive downfield accuracy throughout the game. He officially finished 5-for-8 for 148 yards on deep (20-plus yard) passes, and that’s not including two other pinpoint deep throws that were negated by penalties. It wasn’t all perfect as Brady forced a pass under heavy pressure that was intercepted and he missed a few other throws, but his downfield ball location was the story and it earned him Western & Southern QB of the Week honors.

NFL Playoffs 2018: The formula for beating the Patriots for every AFC contender

Quote

The New England Patriots are once again the favorites to represent the AFC in the Super Bowl. They've done it seven times since 2001, and in order to prevent the defending champs from having an opportunity at going back-to-back for the first time since 2003 and 2004, one of the other AFC contenders is going to have to knock them off before they get there.

Of course, that's easier said than done. That's why, in the space below, we're going to attempt to explore how each team that remains in the playoff race would beat the Patriots, if they were actually able to do it.

Bills: Run It Down Their Throats

This one's easy: it's all about Shady McCoy. Still one of the NFL's most slippery and versatile weapons out of the backfield, McCoy is capable of breaking big plays and/or repeatedly ripping off clock-killing runs for an entire afternoon. He's single-handedly won games before, and he could do it again in the right circumstance. (Side note: if it happens to be snowing for this game, don't bet against McCoy.)

Buffalo's rush offense has dropped off badly this year from where it was during 2015 and 2016, but they still rank very high in open field yards and generating long runs. If the blocking coalesces correctly, it could lead to a big day for McCoy. Of course, Tyrod Taylor's mobility helps on that front, and if the defense starts collapsing on McCoy, he can take off with the ball around the end.

58% of the money on Pats..that's really low for the Pats. Maybe a good sign!!!!

Benn playing with some parlay odds at Bovada with some of the games we really care about this week.

I play all teams to win straight up, so no points involved

2 teamer... Jets-Bils..19-1

3 teamer..  Jets, Bills , Colts 119-1

That last one is no doubt worth a ten spot no?

Ten people who matter most in Week 16

9. LeSean McCoy, Bills running back

On the fringe of the AFC playoff picture, Buffalo's mission is dire: Sneak into Foxborough and steal a win from the division-bully Patriots. For that to happen, a big-time performance is needed from McCoy, who plowed for 93 yards at 6.0 yards per tote in a Week 13 loss to Belichick and friends. His weekly box scores can look underwhelming, but Shady on tape remains a player who runs hard and plays a major role in the passing game. Buffalo's offense is a tough watch, but it looked good in Week 15 controlling the line of scrimmage against a Dolphins team that flattened the Pats two Mondays ago. With the Bills close to extinction, McCoy is the man to stave off death for one more week.

Injuries: Benjamin (knee) returns to Bills practice

Quote

Kelvin Benjamin is back on the practice field for the Buffalo Bills.

The wide receiver, who sat out practice on Wednesday because of a knee injury, took part in practice on Thursday.

It remains to be seen if Benjamin will play in Sunday's AFC East duel with the New England Patriots. NFL Network's Mike Garafolo reported on Good Morning Football that Benjamin likely will need surgery this offseason to fix the issue. Garafolo characterized Benjamin's status as questionable for this week's game, which is laden with playoff implications for the Bills.

Well, there are two weeks to go in the regular season, so 7ABC's Joe Buscaglia and Matthew Fairburn of NYUpstate.com talked about the upcoming game with the Patriots, another reason to add to Sean McDermott's positives for the year, why the Pro Bowl is asinine, and what different things the Bills can do to defend Rob Gronkowski.

Week 16 -- what used to be the close of the regular season has become the final playoff maelstrom for the wannabes. Despite being so late in the season, no less than 13 of the 16 games carry some level of postseason weight. Whether these contests feature teams like the Lions and Cowboys (who are trying to run the table and get help) or outfits like the Jags, Eagles and Patriots (still duking it out over seeding), the results matter. All of which serves to make this weekend more important than Week 17, when most of the eggs are already scrambled.
