Martavis Bryant wants out

QB Bills

Recommended Posts

For a 7th round pick I don't care about any of that.

Jones and Matthews aren't anywhere near good enough. They're possession receivers who can't get separation on any route more than 10 yards. Even when Jones gets a step he can't catch the ball.

Bryant is an elite deep threat. 6'5 with 4.4 speed and decent hands.

Taylor's best at throwing the ball down the field. Deonte Thompson has 4.3 speed and can actually get vertical and Taylor managed to produce 100+ yards when he targeted him. Bryant would do the same.

This offense is built to run the ball and throw off play action. Our problem up until yesterday was that when we run play action our receivers can't separate because they don't have speed. That would change is Bryant and Thompson were our wideouts on the outside. We'd be able to push the ball vertically and rip off chunk pass plays like we did two years ago.

Yup.

It was almost instantaneous that the ground game started opening up as Taylor was throwing the ball long.

Funny how much smarter Dennison got in the eyes of many armchair play callers.

Utter stupidity starting the season without deep threats at WR when that is the one throw that your QB can make at an elite level consistently and with two years of tape proof regarding how effective the offense is when he can stretch the field.

Exactly.

We need to look at what our QB does well.

Does he use the middle of the field? No. This makes Jordan Matthews useless. Jones is useless because he can't catch.

Does he throw a great deep ball? Yup. This makes Martavis Bryant appealing. Deonte Thompson has speed and he showed instant chemistry with Taylor.

Trade a 7th round pick and a conditional 2019 (if we re sign him), and bring Bryant in to stretch the field and help in the red zone.

Jones and Matthews aren't getting the job done. Time to find an upgrade to pair with Thompson who obviously works well with Taylor (because he has speed and can actually run deep).

What would you guys think of this trade...

Pitt Gets: Kaelin Clay

Buff Gets: Martavis Bryant

Obviously Bryant is a really crappy teammate but if he is as good as he thinks he is it could be a win win for both teams.

Bills get a talented WR to compete with Matthews and Thompson for #1 WR role while Steelers get a speedy young WR who will accept his role on team whilebgetting rid of an unhappy playet

I wild do that yesterday. I highly doubt Pittsburgh has any interest in Kaelin Clay. My guess is that they may want a DL.

I would do that....

I would also call Rams just to check in on Sammie......maybe he could be had for a conditional 4th or 5th. ? Would not hurt to ask.

the Bills don't want Sammy or Martavis. You may disagree with their approach, but thats not the type of player they are building the team with.

Why on earth would we trade for this assclown?

Sounds like a real piece of work and lockerroom cancer and the complete opposite of what this new regime is looking for.

He definetly is but he could come in and be one of our fastest and most talented WRs we have one the roster.

1. Bryant

2. Matthews

3. Thompson

4. Jones

5. Holmes

This move would give us a decent core. We still lack a true #1 but bringing in this headcase may allow us to keep pace with Patriots for a bit. Bringing in a player of his talent for little is a no brainer. Yes he is a jerk... but him being a jerk is why we would get him for so cheap.

And a move like this could help the rest of team. Would open things more up for Matthews. And would allow Zay to progress cause obviously he shouldnt have been thrusted into starting lineup right away. Would let him come in situational redzone packages

Obviously Bryant isnt type of player McDermott is looking for but bringing in one of those players wont be the end of the world and be a small price to pay to remain competitive.

Im sure that played a part but Thompson has always been good when given a shot. Remember he tore it up in preseason for us a few years back...

And its odd. He had 60 yards and a TD against the Bucs earlier this year with the Bears. Maybe he just plays well against their weak DBs

It would be a one year rental since Bills have surprised and are legitimate playoff contenders as of right now.

McBean will need to put away their egos for a few weeks and think about how important it is to end this 18 year playoff drought. The honeymoon period with fans would extend and be able to stomach a moderate rebuild this may look like as soon as next year if they draft a QB high.

If they miss playoffs because they do not have a game breaking deep threat,(that they gave away for an injury prone player in preseason, you know the type of player they do not want), then they are in severe risk of losing the fan base. JMO

i actually think it is fairly large price to pay in the big picture. He's clearly not the type of player they want on the team and they've been open about who they feel is part of their process. Bringing him in would deviate from their process for potential - not even guaranteed - short term gains. It would show the process as a fraud to the rest of the team that is here and that it really doesn't matter what you do, actually - if we think you have some talent we don't care. This regime is building a team and culture for the long term. This type of move completely undermines their process.

Whether or not you agree with their process is separate. The process is here and he isn't a part of it.

He is not a McBean type of guy. Trust the process you must.

Which is unfortunate because he could be had at a fairly affordable price (The Steelers likely would take him for a late round pick definitely no more than a 5th) and could add a dimension to the offense that is desperately needed even if everyone is healthy. But too many issues overall.

Even though we could sure as hell use a quality WR especially with his size and speed , and IMO a 5th round pick would be enough to get him , and even if we put aside that he's a complete opposite type of player that were trying to build this team around , he's whole issue for wanting out of Pittsburgh is he's not getting enough touches, is Buffalo really the place where he will get what he wants ??
