RaoulDuke79
Says Beane BSed him about trying to win this season. Who in their right mind actually thought we were going to win more than 8 games this season, even before the trades?
HuSeYiN_NYC
Him leaving as a football player doesnt upset me as a fan after watching how slow he was. But him leaving to make the Bills look worse than the circus Rex ran stings a bit. This is gonna be a long week of reading.
KellyToughII
Not the point. Young, potential great WR traded away because our new genius GM knows more then everyone. Bills will be Bills. These guys won't be here more then 3 years Max. Count on it. Potential, the one word that has plagued this team for years. Lots of potential, no production. Sammy isn't and wasn't worth it, the trade was a smart one

dave mcbride
The most hilarious thing about the smartest guy in the room schtick is that Beane is a freaking comm major from UNC-Wilmington. Upjumped hedge knight, basically.

BobChalmers
My guess is that the Sammy trade drove him off. He has no desire to play for a 4-12 sh*tshow. How do they go from Tate and Powell and 7-9 to Zay and Jordan Matthews and 4-12? I really don't understand all this whining about players who were barely on the field last year. 26CornerBlitz
He looked way too slow to be playing on the outside in Thursday's preseason game. Still quite a blow to buffalo's WR depth chart. But I'm sure they'll add some guys between now and the start of the season. I'd guess some decent guys will be cut between now and then. Sucks he even signed here in the first place though. This is now likely just another blow to locker room morale. I feel bad for the Bills players, and even McDermott to a degree. I don't feel sorry at all for McDermott or Beane. These two greenhorns think they can sell any ole' **** sandwich to players and fans. No one is buying it.

What a Tuel
I personally enjoy the senseless speculation, wailing and gnashing of teeth. I guess many still thought this was a playoff team when it wasn't. They still cant understand what Beane is doing is the right thing and needed to be done. They also MUST connect dots, Boldin MUST have retired because the Bills suck, sammy got traded, blah blah blah. I mean it can't be he realized he was old or he actually wanted to retire to focus on Humanitarian issues and life stuff. Can't it be both? He was convinced to come back and that we would compete and then we trade away our best wr that would make it easier on Boldin and now he is thinking I'm too old for this? Especially when they have him out going long in preseason. Edited August 21, 2017 by What a Tuel

NoSaint
What? He was the FOURTH receiver in Philly. Both takes pretty hot... the NFL is all about tiers and it's not always 32 guys in those tiers.... Matthews isn't a number 4, but he's not a coveted #1 guy either. Probably about 15-20 that are the household names that you have to gameplan around. Then a crowd of darnnear 60 that are pretty interchangeable and just need to land in the right scheme with a qb they click with and stay healthy and they will play well if given a starting role in the right circumstances. And then the "number fours" are role players. Matthews is in the mess of guys that are relatively complete but not particularly noteworthy
