Chad Kelly: drafted by Denver

Is this rhetorical? Aaron Rodgers is a big douche. Kelly's uncle was too.

He makes great throws into tight windows. He will make some mistakes like every QB but he has the goods to win in the NFL. Better than any others in this class.

Just wanted to state it on the boards. I've saved the link so I can come back to it in a couple years

Exactly. He goes through his progressions, throws with anticipation, is calm under pressure, and routinely completes throws when the pocket is collapsing. Dumb off the field: yes. Dumb on the field: no. If he's there in the third, its worth a gamble, and if he's there in the 4th, pull the trigger immediately. Tyrod is the only QB on the roster better than him, currently, and he reads the field better than Tyrod. Lots of 3rd round picks fail to crack a starting lineup, so he's well worth the value if he sneaks passed the second round.

Concerned about his injuries and immaturity but definitely think he is worth a 5th. His dream has been to qb the Bills and maybe he would put in the work and gain the self control to make it reality. He has a lot of NFL qb qualities on the field and he tore up Bama defense. A lot of people were wild during high school and college, most of us managed to grow up. Hard to gauge where he will be picked though. Anywhere from 4th to 6th I think. No chance he goes undrafted imo

All of a sudden, everybody is panicking, and worried we won't draft a QB.

No one's going to draft Kelly before the fifth, if at all. He has an injured wrist on his throwing hand, and won't be able to play through training camp. With all the other issues, what team (other than the Bills) is going to risk a flyer on that?

Seen a article that New Orleans could take a flyer on him if he goes undrafted but with the run on QBs in my opinion they could just use a late pick on him. They don't need him to play right away with Brees still lighting it up he can sit and learn for a few years.

I think he has a chance, like a 5-10% chance of being a solid NFL career. But 5-10% is probably bigger than a ton of late round draft picks in the last 20 years. Many of them have virtually no chance. He has all the tools. Most QBs drafted after the 3-4 don't.

The only way, however, imo it makes sense for the Bills is if he is undrafted. Which seems unlikely. We don't have a 7th. Maybe we take him with the 6th. But then we would have to say goodbye to Cardale in order to keep him, unless Cardale plays great in camp and preseason, Yates tanks, and Chad looks good in very limited reps and action. If he is drafted in the 5th round, and then cut, chances are some team will sign him as a 3. Not guaranteed at all but as a long shot development #3 he's probably as good a chance as a lot of others.

So, IMO, it would not be smart for the Bills to draft him unless they really like him. If no one drafts him then we can sign him as a UDFA and there is a decent chance he can be signed to PS.

Draft him and stash him on IR, then you don't have to cut Cardale until Kelly beats him out the following year.
