"Jaylon Smith tore up his knee, so he'll drop from the top 10 into the 20s, most likely. I think this is a good spot for him though. Remember, Todd Gurley tore his ACL and still was a top-10 choice. The difference here is that Smith probably won't be ready to play until late in 2016, but he's still too talented to pass up"

Id like something like this...

1. N. Spence

2. J. Conklin

3. C. Jones

4. D. Wilson

5. R. Aguayo

6. K. Drake

My dream draft... Drake would be a good 3rd down and return man which we desperately need. Aguayo eliminates the need for Gay. Wilson has the size to make a difference. Jones is a strong armed project that could develop into Culpepper if he applies himself. Conklin would be a steal if he slides down into the 2nd round.

The Fanspeak board is updated (appears to be the only one updated since the Senior Bowl).

The draft is deep, so while I don't expect all these players to be available when we draft, here is what I got today. Incidentally, they matched up with the CBS Sports Round predictions more or less.

CBS analysis on players is available here: http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/draft/prospectrankings/2016/CB

Today's Draft:

YOUR PICKS
1: R1P19
OLB NOAH SPENCE (great OLB who can get at the QB. Little lacking in coverage)
EASTERN KENTUCKY
2: R2P18
G VADAL ALEXANDER (mauler who has also played OT. Athletic enough to play in Roman's multiple run-scheme)
LSU
3: R3P17
DT VERNON BUTLER (has played all over the D-Line. Great Senior Bowl week)
LOUISIANA TECH
4: R4P19
WR DE'RUNNYA WILSON (big WR who can score and catch contested balls)
MISSISSIPPI STATE
5: R5P17
CB RASHARD ROBINSON (at 6'2'', great size for Rex D)
LSU
6: R6P17
CB ERIC MURRAY (value pick of the draft. Physical against the run, great in coverage. Good ball skills. Can't have enough CB's in Rex D).
MINNESOTA

I like it. Some instant impact starters there, esp. the first 2 rounds. I'm torn on drafting a kicker. I think Carpenter is serviceable, and that we could grab one of the Steelers excess kickers as a FA.

I used CBS' board and tried to ignore guys that I felt had very little chance to actually be there (i.e. Noah Spence in round 3).

19: R1P19
OLB JAYLON SMITH
NOTRE DAME
49: R2P18
WR MICHAEL THOMAS
OHIO STATE
80: R3P17
SS KARL JOSEPH
WEST VIRGINIA

OT COLE TONER
HARVARD
144: R5P17
QB BRANDON DOUGHTY
WESTERN KENTUCKY
174: R6P17
DT D.J. READER
CLEMSON

I think I'd be happy with the above. Starting ILB, #2 WR that kicks Woods into the slot, safety that can compete for playing time, developmental RT, developmental QB, and a NT that could potentially play snaps as a rookie.

great draft! And realistic. And it hits on most of our needs- NT, QB, LB, S, OT, WR

19: R1P19

- OLB DARRON LEE - ( need linebacker help..will probably be better fit as ILB in Rex system ..best available versatile all around LB)

- OHIO STATE

49: R2P18

WR BRAXTON MILLER - (most likely candidate to play Percy Harvin swiss army knife role)

OHIO STATE

80: R3P17

G SEBASTIAN TRETOLA - ( probably needs a little work in pass protect but should be a good mauler in power run game. I would have loved to have drafted a Tackle somewhere in first 3 rounds but after Conklin there is really no one I think that is better than Kouandjio)

ARKANSAS

118: R4P19

OLB YANNICK NGAKOUE - (raw but seems to be a great athlete, development project but hopefully can develop into solid Joker 3/4 OLB)

MARYLAND

156: R5P17

DT D.J. READER - (http://buildingtheherd.com/ turned me on to this guy. 6'3" - 340 lbs...seems like he would be a great one technique NT allowing Kyle and Marcell to kick outside and cause havoc. Also hopefully eats up blocks to let LBs run free a la Siragusa)

CLEMSON

195: R6P17

QB KEVIN HOGAN - (being a Stanford QB he would most likely be familiar with Roman's system. Has decent size ... worth taking a flyer on)

STANFORD
