Actually, the best our running game looked was when he played.

Faint praise indeed

John Miller and Richie Incognito will quickly let us forget his existence.

At his cost Williams was a long shot because his play wasn't that good and he has injury issues

Yeah, but more than a casual fan saw the PFF grade and also knew he was a washout 1st round pick and his second team wasn't in the bidding for him to come back as a premium FA. They were willing to bring him back at the vet minimum or slightly above, which is where his true value was.

I agree with that. I'm just tired of false claims of vindication by people who didn't predict injuries would derail his stint here.

finally! thought this move would've happened much sooner. guess its time to start talking to dareus about getting that money.

This is not in any way related to re-signing Dareus.

For some reason, ^this point gets ignored.

Agreed on Miller, who knows about Richie?

As to Williams, he only got $5.5M guaranteed over 4 years; he was a low-budget signing.

are you saying that the injuries have prevented my near inevitable vindication? that hardly seems fair!

Sometimes you just have to let those hard to reach chips go.

I dont know that remains to be seen......

The OG we drafted this year looks promising

We took 2 last year.....one of them is out of the doghouse and one of them was a starter

We took 3 last year, rounds 2, 5 & 7

Oh I thought he was coming on just as a camp body.

i don't really count him as a "FA signing" either, though I guess technically he was.

He made a key block on Fred's big run against Chicago to set up the winning FG in OT. Probably the only good block from our LG position all season.

And Manuel was in there running the read option. That's the real reason, IMO.
