Fezmid
I just had to say that. It never works. That's what I said to a Vikes friend of mine. He countered that the Vikings bit on it in week 1 and lost because of it.
RJ (not THAT RJ)
Just like the wildcat never leads to TDs anymore.

MRW
I was about to say that to my friends as we were watching - but fortunately I didn't because I thought, can't hurt to try.
FreakPop
I just had to say that. It never works. I know. I kinda feel bad for the guy who jumped because he will get crucified by the Philly media even though he had no bearing on todays outcome.
Dorkington
So glad it did work I was half expecting us to QB dive, if it didn't.
WhitewalkerInPhilly
Yes. It never works. And the Wildcat never leads to touchdowns. Ever. Ever, ever ever. Which means that I must have been absolutely blitzed when watching...and we STILL won.

Talley56
Not quite sure how to take this, are we that clever or that lucky? Either way, a win's a win.
hatedolphins
Icing the kicker never works either. Ever. Icung the kicker works best for Joe Gibbs when he tries it twice in a row Thank God the Eagles were extra dumb today- the guy who jumped off sides and when Vick let time expire at the half. That might have mattered down the line
kegtapr
I know. I kinda feel bad for the guy who jumped because he will get crucified by the Philly media even though he had no bearing on todays outcome. He didn't? No, we'll never know if the Eagles could have driven for the score and won it in OT, but it did have a bearing on not giving them a chance. If a Bill did that this board would go apeshit on him. flutie2000
There was also a nice example of it working just two weeks ago in the Falcons vs Bucs game to ice the game.

Absofrickenlutely. What about Stevie dropping that ball and THEN we go 2 more plays and punt against the Steelers last year But it was ALL his fault. Willyville Guy
Well, right. But in that situation the likelihood went from 0% to 0.01% because the defense was overly geeked to make something happen. I loved the Bills' motion on that play. Just a hilarious way to end the game. Pure enjoyment for this tortured fan. I can't believe it worked. Mark Vader
Not quite sure how to take this, are we that clever or that lucky? Either way, a win's a win. I would say we are both clever & lucky. The football "experts" and players never admit that luck plays a part in the game too.

Miyagi-Do Karate
"Every Saturday, we line up and practice it," Bills coach Chan Gailey said of that final play. "You don't think it's going to work, but the one time it does, it wins the game for you." Asked if Fitzpatrick was planning to snap the ball, Gailey said, "I'll never tell," and everyone laughed. Just a hilarious way to end the game. Pure enjoyment for this tortured fan. I can't believe it worked. This, willy. Chan devised this play adding a wrinkle not shone before. McIntyre go in motion on 3rd/4th & inches. He never does that and all opponents know what he means to our short yardage pkg. That lineman knew Cory in motion isn't/was supposed to happen via film study and he got extra nrevous. FitzGeneral gave 1 more emphatic hut HUT & victory was ours. I saw that as Chan & Fitz. We're also getting better @ the Victory Play! -Fitz looks experienced at it now.
bbb
I actually don't remember it ever working, after it is obvious that that is what is being done.........I also think that that is the time to run a play now, and I've never seen that. After fake hard count after fake hard count, the other team has to on it's heals a little.
It's in My Blood
I just had to say that. It never works. My favorite play of the game was when Fitz took the ball up the gut for the first down on a called qb sneak. Perfect call, perfect timing, perfect execution. Philly never saw that coming. Go Bills! BuffOrange
Absofrickenlutely. What about Stevie dropping that ball and THEN we go 2 more plays and punt against the Steelers last year But it was ALL his fault. The Stevie play made us go from 100% --> ~55-60% chance of winning? This play made the Eagles go from ~5% --> 0%... So not really the same thing. BTW this was mentioned on one of the postgame shows and I've always wondered the same thing - how hard can it be to to pick up 6 inches when the #1 thing on most DLmens mind is "I can't move, must not jump in case they don't snap it"? Bob in STL
I just had to say that. It never works. I have seen it work about 3 times in the last 45 years or so. Fitzy had a great hard count.
Kelly the Dog
I have seen it work about 3 times in the last 45 years or so. Fitzy had a great hard count. Yep. And Levitre did a good job reacting and getting the penalty. In the post game press conference, Freddy said the play was called to either run or just try to draw them off (not run the play) depending on the look the defense showed. The one they showed was the "not run the play" one. So they wouldn't have gone for it.
jad1
I have seen it work about 3 times in the last 45 years or so. Fitzy had a great hard count. I saw the Falcons bite on this against the Bucs, as mentioned above, earlier this year. The fact that the Bills gashed the Eagles on the run all day long also might have made the DL jumpy.
