Bills Related Draft News & Discussion
GunnerBill replied to Warriorspikes51's topic in The Stadium Wall
And has been on a 30 visit. The Bills are one of the teams for whom that really matters with the first rounder. 2017 - White visited 2018 - Allen and Edmunds visited 2019 - Oliver visited 2020 - no pick (Diggs trade) 2021 - Rousseau (had a zoom, no visits, covid) 2022 - Elam visited 2023 - the one anomaly - Kincaid did not visit 2024 - Coleman visited -
The Stadium Wall is a great place to come talk about the Bills

That list is lacking a Tremaine Edmunds thread... Color me disappointed 𤨠-
How about the trade up for Elam? Kincaid? Knox? Edmunds? Cody Ford? In general I support trading up for a QB you believe in, without a franchise QB you canât compete for championships in the NFL. But trading up for other positions that may or may not work out? No thanks. Just because you sacrifice multiple picks for a player doesnât make that player the right guy.

NFL Network 2019 WC Bills-Texans SUN 7pm ET
buffblue replied to djp14150's topic in The Stadium Wall
To me it appeared the entire defensive backfield and Edmunds were at or behind the line to gain of the 37 yard line. When the ball was dumped off to Duke Johnson there was literally no one on the screen around him. Should've never happened, but I would believe that alignment to be more on the coaching staff than the players. -
Greg Rousseau Extended (4 years / 80M / 54M Guaranteed)

Edmunds in Chicago, Gabe in Jacksonville, Diggs in Houston... the players we let go aren't showing too well. Maybe Beane does know what he's doing after all. -
No, but that makes it sting more. There are a lot of ways to get superstar talent. Honestly, Beane has a pretty good philosophy. He LOVES high-ceiling guys in round one. Guys like Ed, Josh, Edmunds, Groot, even Elam, had All-Pro potential physically if they could reach it. Itâs just that outside of Josh, none of them have. I think TBD would be very boring if one of those guys had hit their peaks, because weâd have one Super Bowl and there would be very little to complain about.

I count five there that started a meaningful number of games as rookies on the defensive side of the ball. And that doesnât include Edmunds. So just because you couldnât remember any, didnât mean that rookies never start for McD.

Edmunds and Kincaid. Although Im not sure what that says about is trade-up track record, haha But we also got jumped in 2022 when the 1st round talent ran out and panic picked Elam... We'll see đ¤ -
Cook averaged less than 60 yards a game & while Brown is solid he is not of the level of Sewell, Lane Johnson or Wirfs, yet. And how is that working out. Ask someone who follows the Bears what they think of Edmunds
-
I'd rather have Bernard at 4 year $50m than Edmunds at 4 year $72m. Especially given the contracts will be three years apart since Bernard extension won't kick in until 2026.

Cut candidate in Chicago. Still canât believe they got suckered in to paying him all that money. https://www.sportingnews.com/us/nfl/chicago-bears/news/bears-underperforming-tremaine-edmunds-tabbed-cut-candidate/7b66305a764d65f90e3209ce -
Are Fan Expectations Too High for Keon Coleman?
Ralonzo replied to JohnNord's topic in The Stadium Wall
The role Coleman fills on THIS offense would not be filled by Worthy. X MUST block and block well (see: Davis, Gabriel and Hollins, Mack). While receiving is 1A, for the Bills, blocking on the outside is 1B. If Coleman can be 80% the blocker Hollins is while simultaneously being 80% the receiver Worthy is, that's much more important to this scheme than one OR the other. People are also forgetting Coleman just turned 22, which is only a couple years older than Edmunds. Talking about him like he's reached his ceiling, I'm not on that train. I feel 75/25 that he surprises to the upside this year, especially if he gets a few more calls when DB's are pogey'ing his jersey that he didn't get as a rookie last year. -
Elijah Moore Visiting the Bills today (Update: Signed!)
Sierra Foothills replied to bills742's topic in The Stadium Wall
Tremaine Edmunds' birthday is May 2nd! Is there a plural of umbrage? Excited too and pretty sure this'll end up better than the Coleman signing. Like many others have said, I really liked Moore coming out of college. I'd wager a fair amount that (barring injury) Moore will be a significant contributor this year. Probably the purple stuff... Yes, Coleman underwent a genetic miniaturizing process with the objective of gaining speed. The procedure was successful. He's now only 6'0" but his 40 time is in the 4.4s. -
Dont get me wrong, I love Beane. I have a "Big Baller Beane" shirt that is my lucky Tshirt and I wear it all the time. It's just offseason discussion. I was more daydreaming about what it could have looked like with Warner and Milano on the field. Not trying to bash the Edmunds pick. I wonder if that pick puts us over the top against KC in any of the playoff games? The challenges Beane would have had to keep everyone and get everyone paid? Who else would we have let walk in order to divert that money to Warner? Maybe Ed?

Tremaine Edmunds DB coach?đ. But very good point, just get the guy on the ground and don't hurt yourself we need you to cover receivers first and foremost. We were spoiled watching Antoine Winfield back in the day.

PoundingDog replied to Roundybout's topic in The Stadium Wall
Look, we kind of know what Beane is by now. He values -- I mean really values -- draft picks. But he's a bit of a gambler on traits. Top picks under his watch, Allen, Edmunds, Oliver, Rousseau, Elam, Kincaid, Coleman all had elite physical traits that he hoped that if mentally unlocked would translate to true big stars. It worked out splendidly on Allen. Somewhat on Rousseau - I think at age 24, his book is still being written. Definitely not on Edmunds and Elam. I don't think he's going to shell out big time draft assets for any aging star, defined like around age 30 or so. -
Dorion Williams youngest LB in league this year to lead in tackles
Big Turk replied to DJB's topic in The Stadium Wall
Is that just last year?? I can't imagine it's an NFL all-time record, he is 23 years old. Edmunds would have likely had multiple seasons like that before that age. -
No way you can justify paying Greg $20M+. Let him play out his 5th year option and then walk, same as Edmunds. Hopefully get a nice comp pick back.

Taron Johnson and Micah Hyde also. Taron 1x 2nd team all pro in 2023 Micah 2x 2nd team all pro.... 2017 and I think 2021. Tre was 1x 1st team (2019) and 1x 2nd team (2020) JoPo I think just 1x 1st team in 2021 Milano just 1x 1st team all pro in 2022 Tremaine was never an all pro but did make a pro bowl or maybe two (I confess I am less hot on pro bowls I have kind of given up on them). What's my point with all that? I think basically it is to say that really the only "perennial all pro" type guy we had in all those years on those good defenses was Tre White before the ACL. I think he would probably have been a guy who ended up with 3 or 4 or maybe even 5 all pro nods had the injuries not struck. The only other guy with more than one all pro was Micah, both were 2nd team and they were I think 4 years apart. And I think to this.... it is the underrated part of why they like Bernard. In 2023 he made way more splash plays than Tremaine Edmunds ever made for us. The splash plays disappeared a bit in 2024 and indeed some teams picked on him a bit in coverage situations but he was still more reliable than Edmunds ever was in the real nuts and bolts of the scheme. He rarely misses his gap in the run game and his drops are more consistent in the pass game. He needs to re-find some of the 2023 form for me to like that contract long term but from the Bills' perspective he is reliable.
-
My ignorance? You fan boys are calling out players who never made a pro bowl and were drafted or acquired years ago. I mean look at snappy, he's going into the Edmunds bucket. You called out Connor McGovern. I'm the ignorant one. No help for you.
-
It is so ridiculous that after one of the best rookie seasons at Tight End ever, people are completely out on Dalton Kincaid in year 2. Saying Edmund is a failed Day 1 pick is equally ridiculous. He signed a massive contract in the offseason and has experienced plenty of success in the NFL. He's a failure by Beane because we didn't sign him to that overpaid contract? No. Here are some noteworthy Day 2 picks the last 4 years: O'Cyrus Torrence, Dorian Williams, James Cook, Terrel Bernard, Spencer Brown. I don't know where this mentality started of criticizing Beane at every juncture, but he's a good GM. Be glad he's with the organization.

Bills signed WR Kristian Wilkerson
Sierra Foothills replied to Dunkirk Donski's topic in The Stadium Wall
Funny. I thought the photo screamed "short arms." đ I saw elsewhere that he ran a 4.50 40 at his Pro Day but a 1.46 10 yard split which is elite. He's the 91st man on the roster and it's May 19th. Does that clear things up? Actually he had one good game. In week 16 of the 2021 season he caught 4 passes for 42 yards and 2 TDs playing for New England against Jacksonville. I thought it was a "shot across the bow." I don't know how old you are but I'm definitely calling him a young man. Now he's not Tremaine Edmunds young but who is? -
I want to congratulate these Edmunds traits-vs-ability claims for making another appearance tonight, 2/18/25. May this argument NEVER die. I agree with you btw, but have concerns about (and some contradictory tenderness for) the 1st claim. I don't think anyone has ever convincingly proven that Edmunds ACTUALLY deterred pass attempts, but I love it coming up again. Has it been demonstrated convincingly?
