Agreed. And gone are Edmunds, Poyer, Hyde, White, Settle etc.. That doesn't absolve Diggs. He's a WR1 making big money. He hasn't stepped up when it matters.

Rumor: Bills trying aggressively to move up for a WR in round one
SCBills replied to Logic's topic in The Stadium Wall
Perfect example of that for us would be Terrell Bernard. Pick made no sense in a vacuum of one year for where he was taken, with Edmunds and Milano on the roster. Fast forward two years and the guy is a key piece of the defense and an absolute stud in our system. -

NFL Admits Mistake, Bengals get 3rd Rnd Comp Pick
Bleeding Bills Blue replied to boyst's topic in The Stadium Wall
And by jumping ahead of edmunds into the 3rd, the 4th that cancelled out with orlando brown now shifts down and cancels out a 6. -
Rd 2, Pick 33: WR Keon Coleman, Florida State
The Frankish Reich replied to SDS's topic in The Stadium Wall
He may just have one good season right before free agency, just in time for the Bears to sign him and watch him suck again. Did you know Tremaine Edmunds was only 19 when we drafted him? -
1st Round Draft Poll...WWBD (what will Beane do)?
The Jokeman replied to eball's topic in The Stadium Wall
Move back, he's upset about no 3rd for Edmunds and wants to get some guys that can start in 2024 and maybe 2025 and to me that comes from quality picks early and easiest way to get more is to trade down in Round 1. -
Beane Discusses Draft Strategy w/ Pat McAfee
Gregg replied to Donuts and Doritos's topic in The Stadium Wall
I wouldn't rule out a trade to either move up or back. Beane has shown he will do that. Allen and Edmunds are examples of that as far as moving up goes. -
Greg Rousseau 5th year option, extension candidate?
Ethan in Cleveland replied to Matt_In_NH's topic in The Stadium Wall
Agree. He is nothing special so far. Pick up the option and let him play it out just like Edmunds. -
We’ll see…as we know there are no guarantees They only gave out 3 4th rounds this year and Edmunds got more money

Buffalo Gets 4th round comp pick
Ridgewaycynic2013 replied to The 9 Isles's topic in The Stadium Wall
Edmunds extracts one final coup de grâce on his TBD-TSW enemies. "Take that, you jive turkeys!" -
Not to mention how strong that class was after that pick. Edmunds was a day 1 starter and a multi year pro bowler, Harrison Phillips is a starting DT for the Vikings, Taron is Johnson in the 4th (pro bowler), Siran Neal and the dearly departed Wyatt Tyler (multi year pro-bowler) in the 5th, Ray Ray Mcloud in the 6th. That's 4 pro bowlers in his first draft.

Chicago does well in round 1!! They'd be thrilled with these selections AND the added draft capital. Bonus: Latu at almost a full 4 years older, should be a good mentor to Edmunds. Love this pick right here. Get your guy. Finally, the Raiders have hope.

I never knew about the snap rate as accordance to comp picks until the NFL stiffed us from the 3rd Rd pk we should've gotten from losing Edmunds. In my opinion it's a horrible way to factor the comp picks. A player can get injuries and still be great the rest of the yr or the following year. The NFL is not acting on good faith by adding these guidelines to the comp formula. Teams do base there entire off-seasons on these supposed comp picks and it's stupid in my opinion to have anything else in the formula other then what said player received in his contract. It's not the Bills fault that Edmunds didn't reach the threshold for snaps because he was hurt we still lost a big piece of our defense by not resigning him.

So now we are listening to PFF again? The formula for when to follow their grading is probably as complex as the NFL explaining how Edmunds wasn't a 3rd round comp pick.

Is it time to grow concerned about Greg Rousseau?
SCBills replied to FireChans's topic in The Stadium Wall
Currently, I see Rousseau as a Tremaine Edmunds type player.. but at a premium position. Which means he's good enough to get paid and I don't necessarily love that team paying him being us. I need to see more pass rush ability from him before I sign him long term to a massive contract. -
Yea he seems to understand how everything else worked out but still be confused on how the 9ers (Jimmy G) and the Bills (Edmunds) didn't get 3rd rounders.

Game Thread: Tampa Bay at Detroit - 3 PM NBC
TheWeatherMan replied to chongli's topic in The Stadium Wall
Chase Edmunds find holes like Tremaine Edmunds. -
Kincaid will get close to 120 targets. Cook will get close to 75. I think they are the actual drivers of the offense. Much less Wr centric than years past. People were looking for Edmunds replacement. Benard didn't fit that mold. Coleman, Shakir, Samuel 1 for 1 are not Diggs. In the roles designed, the offense may be more effective without a player being as prolific.

Live 2024 NFL Draft thread - Round 1 (Do NOT tip the Bills pick)
dave mcbride replied to Simon's topic in The Stadium Wall
Seems like an obviously terrible decision from my perch. The fetishization of draft pick hording seems to be the driver — Beane can't quite get over the fourth tound comp designation for Edmunds and was hellbent on getting a third round pick. But jeez, don’t trade with KC. Hope I’m wrong. -
Edmunds too.

To think we could have had Warner instead of Edmunds....
-
OK so we're not getting a 3rd because we lost a 1st rounder in Edmunds, it's completely because of the contract he signed with Bears?
