  1. I think the Skinner trade(obviously along with all of the other additions/subtractions of this offseason) has finally put them into a place where they could legimately be a playoff team this season...I'm impressed with all of the moves Bott's made because I wasn't expecting this team to be in any position to be a playoff team going into this year.
  2. Has anybody else sat back and thought of the irony of how the Bills finally seem to be heading toward being a serious contender in the next few years yet the game itself is becoming almost unwatchable with all of the rule changes and officiating problems? Kinda makes me depressed. If not for the Bills building something right now I don't know how much interest level I would even have for the NFL. I've already quit watching the NBA after the circus that league has turned into.
  3. My comment was in reference to hearing about stories where New Era has a work environment where sleeping around in the company is encouraged, to the point where there are lots of work parties and functions where spouses are specifically not allowed to attend. I know this because I knew a guy who had a good position with the company whose wife made him leave the company because she was aware of what was going on. Does this happen at other companies? Sure but I did get a good chuckle when I heard the news about Russ going to NE after hearing about those stories.
  4. Yep I've heard the same thing about New Era but I didn't wanna be the one to say anything but yes they probably sought out Russ once he was a free agent because of how well he will fit in with the culture there
  5. Khalil Mack is awesome...that's who I was hoping for when we traded up for Sammy but the truth is with this regime in charge it's time to look forward and stop looking in the past. McBeane are going to continue to build this thing up in house with draft picks and occasionally plug in a free agent where they see the value meets the need. There's no way they are splurging on a Ferrari in free agency.
  6. He probably just didn't wanna be too far away from Lauren Hall
  7. But with Josh Allen I don't even think it's a matter of ruining him by starting him too soon...it's simply the matter that he's taking a MAJOR jump from the level of play and competition he saw at Wyoming v.s. what he's in store for in the NFL and he needs a little bit of time to get used to playing ball at this level. In Allen's case it does make sense to sit back and absorb a little bit IMO.
  8. I'm curious what kind of things was he saying that made him so hilarious? He seems like he could be a character(in a good way)
  9. Love hearing all this good stuff about Wyatt Teller! I am really rooting for him to become a legitimate starter on the O-line...if he pans out this could really turn out to be one of our best drafts of all-time
  10. I feel pretty confident in saying there's a 99% chance he doesn't become the next Brady or Rodgers...would I love to be wrong? Absolutely Just because I don't think Brady or Rodgers is his ceiling doesn't mean I don't think he can be a great QB in the NFL
  11. Exactly. Even Allen at his absolute best will not be another Tom Brady or Aaron Rodgers with pure accuracy all the time. I see him being in the gunslinger mold of a Brett Favre where he will throw a bad pick here and there but he will also make some absolute beauties that will make it all worth it. If our defense ends up being as good as I think it can be and they bring in some weapons for Allen and shore up the offensive line I am absolutely fine with having that kind of QB. Will make for some exciting ball games
  12. That's crazy when you think about how that stadium opened up in 1973?(I could be off but I think that's when it opened up). The Bills only true era of success in that stadium was the late 80s/early 90s...let's hope we can put something together real soon and have a few more good memories before it's time for the new stadium
  13. I feel like you are going to be surprised by the replies. Most guys on the message boards(especially the ones that post in the Off the Wall section) no longer live in the WNY area and they usually don't have any problem admitting they have no desire to move back lol.
  14. My little league football coach used to always say after a bad loss..."well the only positive we can take from this one is we lost as a team" and I've always thought that summed up Super Bowl 25 in a nutshell. As a team so many guys contributed to losing that game it really wasn't fair Norwood became the scapegoat. It's also crazy that for as many things that went wrong for the Bills in that game that they still had a chance to win it at the end.
  15. At this point Josh should be standing out...there's a huge difference in ability between a guy who went #7 overall v.s. two guys who were 5th round picks. I'm very happy to hear Josh is showing some separation in these early practices but I think the big thing with Josh is how will he handle reading NFL defenses and the overall speed of processing information as a starting NFL quarterback. He is behind in that category because of his football experience so far playing for small schools and playing with and against lesser competition. If he can pick up the mental aspects to a "decent" degree than there's no way the other guys have a shot because Josh has all the natural ability in the world. Something also tells me Beane and McDermott would not have taken a shot on a kid that they didn't think had it upstairs so part of me is excited to see if he can adjust to the speed of the NFL quickly.
  16. Who knew being an Instagram Model could add so many years of world experience to somebody?
  17. How did he look in drills??
  18. I've never hated so many historical sports moments in my entire life until now
  19. I liked Winfield and Jabari Greer but I thought a lot of the other "big name" cornerbacks we've had over the years were overrated and/or prima donnas. Tre is already working his way towards being my favorite Bills corner of all-time.
  20. I remember being disappointed when we traded back and drafted a cornerback yet again...but at the time I didn't know anything about Tre because I'm not a huge college football guy and I was just never impressed by any of the other first round cornerbacks we would draft but as soon as I listened to his first press conference I was very impressed by this young man and this time it just felt different. Then getting to watch him play his rookie season was a real treat...the kid was an animal, all over the field, making plays getting the crowd worked up into a frenzy. I'm so proud to have this guy playing for my team and cannot wait to see him in action this season!
  21. There's a huge difference between very good and Dominant... and I do think our defense is trending that way but I would say still 2-3 years away from being Dominant
  22. Oh yeah definitely don't let my other post steer you from going to a Chiefs game...it is absolutely a fun football trip. The BBQ joints are delicious and were fun places to hang as there were lots of other Bills fans there too. The tailgating was great and the stadium is beautiful(I'm much more a fan of the traditional stadiums than the new ones being built these days). So for those things KC ranks very high on my list but as far as stuff to do in the city and nightlife KC ranks right at the bottom out of the away games I've done but I am one of those guys who can have fun anywhere I go so I certainly don't want it to seem like I am complaining about the time I had when I was there.
  23. Yeah the stadium was awesome. Great fans, fun gameday atmosphere. For a football trip Kansas City is a must...as far as the city itself I found it to be boring. The bar scene was pretty weak, not a ton of sightseeing stuff to do etc.
