  1. The way they looked in preseason and to start off the regular season I had them as my sleeper pick to make it to the Super Bowl...man did their season implode quick
  2. I was able to attend Wednesday and Friday's Sabres games and the Bills game yesterday. What a roll. I never luck out and get to see so many great games. The atmosphere both downtown and in Orchard Park yesterday was incredible. What a holiday weekend!
  3. This thing has swung like a tidal wave...starting to feel like 2006 all over again
  4. Nervously excited would be more accurate for how I feel during Sabres games now because those games actually mean something. With the Bills it's more of a hope for the best feeing.
  5. Outside of all of the typical Thanksgiving traditions about 5 years ago my family incorporated watching Planes, Trains, and Automobiles at the end of the night...still going strong 5 years later and one of the things I really look forward to.
  6. I'll be there. Will be my first game at the arena of the season. This time it's the fans turn to step their game up a notch!
  7. Stinky first period for the good guys but when they play that poorly and walk away with it still being 0-0 I take that as a victory. Hopefully they wake up in the 2nd and start generating some offense.
  8. I think that's been the case for most people in Western New York, not just Howard and Jeremy lol.
  9. It's so funny when you think back to the days with the huge Marlboro signs by the scoreboard in the 80's and 90's. Crazy how times change
  10. Mittelstadt slowly keeps looking better and more comfortable each game. We are going to have quite a few studs on this team once Mittelstadt and Dahlin get more experience under their belt. Eichel is hitting that point right now and it is amazing to watch.
  11. I don't know how it would work out salary cap wise but if we are talking fantasy scenario's I would much rather see them make a push at signing Panarin when he hits free agency.
  12. I know, it was a classic battle. We actually came out on top in that one. Who woulda thought?
  13. Reminds me of Kelly's Bills v.s. Steve Young and the 49ers back in the day
  14. My only real positive is the Sabres are looking promising.
  15. The Bills Mafia namesake was originated by a good guy named Del Reid who does a lot of really impressive charity work in the community. Only after the fact did it start to become associated with the table jumping and other stupid antics in the parking lot. Me personally I miss the old school 12th Man days but gotta change with the times I guess.
  16. He's on an absolute tear right now. I was very happy when we acquired him but he is far exceeding my expectations right now. The Eichel Pominville Skinner line is on fire. Feels so good to finally have an exciting sports team to follow in Buffalo.
  17. They are showing signs of progress. Could be a fringe playoff team this year. Should only continue to keep getting better each year from here on out.
  18. That's correct. Season one was mostly focused around Bart and then it gradually shifted towards the shenanigans of Homer.
  19. That was a fun game. This was also the game where Kyle Williams had that interception. This was the year me and my buddies started up our Bills road trip tradition that is still going strong today. We almost picked this game but ended up seeing the Bills get lit up by Peyton and the Broncos later in the season instead
  20. Sorry for your loss.. Last year the Sabres had a home and home series against the Penguins and me and my buddy took our fathers and his uncle down to Pittsburgh for the weekend. The game in Pittsburgh was Saturday night and the game being played in Buffalo was on Friday night so we caught that game at a bar and then continued to check out a few more establishments. We ended up finishing the night off at a place called The Smiling Moose that had a very attractive and busty bartender. A total knockout! As we're leaving the bar and trying to figure if we should walk it back to the hotel or go for the Uber confusion breaks out amongst the group and someone in the group says something about were leaving The Smiling Moose....without missing a beat my old man goes "The Smiling Moose? I thought we were just at the Spectacular Jugs"
  21. I couldn't tell ya, as a Buffalo sports fan I haven't spent much time pondering over this
  22. Atmosphere was fun and electric, a nice change of pace from the regular Sunday afternoon routine. I forgot how much fun night games can be, they almost have a rock concert element to them. With that I said I would agree that it wasn't on the level of the Dallas game in 07 which was to be expected with the state of the team and the fact that we didn't go quite as long since our last Monday Night game as it was when we got the Dallas game. There seemed to be an extra buzz throughout the air in the tailgating lots. Atmosphere for Thurman's jersey retirement was excellent. All in all it was a fun game to go to and I'm glad I got to make it because as I'm slowly turning into an old fart and losing my lust to party lol if we go another 10 years before getting another Monday Night game I don't know if I will be in attendance. So I just tried to soak everything in because last night was another reminder of what a special place New Era Field can be.
  23. Haha that's great, even though it's a simple story as a retro fan and nostalgia junkie I love hearing random stories like that
