  1. His age alone doesn't fit with what we're trying to build IMO...same reason why the Sabres had no problem getting rid of O'Reilly because of the ages of the core being 19-22 years old. Doesn't make sense to give up draft picks and spend a ton of $$$$ on a guy who will be "old" once the young core they are building here are all in their prime years.
  2. Some very interesting and good replies in this thread. I can't pinpoint exactly when it started but my level of enthusiasm for the NFL as a whole has been declining more and more each season. I haven't watched any preseason football outside of the Bills games this year. The NFL as a product has just gone completely downhill. The coverage is way too commercialized these days, the big hitting has been taken out of the game, the officiating is always terrible. Somebody posted that video collection of all of Bruce Smith's sacks the other day and it was beautiful but oh so bittersweet at the same time because that's when the NFL was in it's prime and what made me fall in love with the sport. The presentation was so much simpler back then and they used to let the players have fun, and the games were more intense with real rivlaries. The game was for the blue collar demographic and nowadays the NFL markets itself to the mainstream and I think that has taken some of the special feelings I always had for the past-time away for me. I still watch but can see the day where I walk away from it if things keep trending this way. I stopped watching the NBA this year because of the circus that became.
  3. I wouldn't use overrated as how I would describe our defense but I would say it is still a work in progress...in the sense that there are still holes to be filled and they will continue to build it up over the next couple years. I think we are on our way to having a legit top 5 defense but not expecting it this year.
  4. He was something special that's for sure Starting at 1:07 in that video....he just pinned this dude down and did the 1-2-3 WWF Pin That's a 15 yard penalty in today's game man the NFL was a million times more fun back in those days
  5. I like how McDermott is all business but also lets his players show their personality and wants them to have fun. I can see why players love playing for this guy.
  6. It's laughable when you compare the clown show that was in town when Rex was here v.s. watching the command and respect McDermott has when watching the Bills Embedded special. I can't wait to see what the future holds for this organization
  7. Cool concept but budweiser sucks It would be cool to see Labatt do something like this if the Bills ever made it into the playoffs and they would give out free beer if we won the Super Bowl(Hey I can dream right )
  8. This kid could end up being the steal of the draft....between Allen, Edmunds, Harry, and Wyatt this could also have the potential to be the greatest draft in franchise history...Time will tell
  9. Yeah I disagree with this, you don't go out and get yourself a guy with the arm talent Josh has and not make any effort to bring in an explosive weapon for him to be able to use. He has alot to proove that he is anything special at the NFL level
  10. I like KB but I still think we need to find our AJ Green...and I would absolutely love to get a big pass catching TE...with the right weapons we could actually have a fun and exciting offense to watch in Buffalo for the first time since the K-Gun years
  11. I'm already thinking ahead to the future and not worrying too much about what happens this season because we obviously still have some glaring holes. Number 1 is WR and I think everybody would agree on that. Part of me is nervous though if there will be any truly elite WR's that will also fit the personality traits McDermott and Beane stress. I say that because WR's are the biggest divas in the entire NFL, even the majority of the greats at that position. I know there are some exceptions but this is one position where I really hope we don't get scared off from trying to draft a highly skilled receiver if he doesn't fit the criteria 100%...with Allen's arm and a legit deep threat that could be dangerous! Has anybody else given this any thought or familiar with what big time receiver's are coming out of the draft next year and if you think they will be an ok fit here personality wise(not a huge college football guy so I'm not familiar with any of them at the moment)
  12. "The Cannon" Josh Allen.....sounds a bit 80s/90's WWF-esque but I like it
  13. It's bizarre seeing how orderly the parking lots looked before gametime
  14. Still has a long way to go but the potential is clearly there...after tonight now I can totally see the comparisons that were made to his ceiling being a more athletic Ben Roethlisburger
  15. He had a bad game for sure. Was out of position a few times and completely whiffed on a tackle but it's way too early to even worry about it at this point. It's called Growing Pains...Walter Payton's first game in the NFL he played awful to the point he was in tears afterwards. So let's not panic just yet.
  16. The kid is Raw(as was advertised) but my god the potential is there...give him some time to learn the NFL game and improve his fundamentals and bring in some legit Receiver's and we could have a very explosive offense in a couple years
  17. This kid is a player! Love the enthusiasm and passion!
  18. The atmosphere at the stadium has always been primarily geared by the college crowd and the table jumping antics etc. are what's in with that demographic nowadays. If you follow Barstool Sports they are always posting videos of this kind of stuff going on at college parties all over the United States. The reason why this is associated with Bills fans is Buffalo has much more of a college gameday atmosphere than any other NFL city.
  19. I used to really look forward to the Hall of Fame inductions back in the day but it hasn't been the same the last couple years as we are getting into the more modern era players, I can't explain why I don't enjoy it as much but IMO the speeches usually aren't as good as the classic ones but I thought Dawkins speech was amazing and inspiring. I can see why McDermott listed him as one of his favorite players he's ever coached.
