  1. Could be that going to this zone blocking scheme just took him longer to get it than others. Or even that those around him took longer, but the mistakes by others to the uninformed eye appeared to be on Vlad, but really were someone elses fault and he just took the blame in some instances. Or just overall the entire line now gets this new scheme.
  2. Could be or the more likely scenario is that for all these times you think you know more than people who do this professionally for a living, you really don't. The truth is you just know much less than you think you know.
  3. Kind of funny how all the little kids are just doing nothing. Probably thinking when I scream like that I get in trouble. I do wonder if KW had told the Bills he is retiring and that was why they ran that play with him for the TD
  4. Every years there are multiple threads talking about what a tough schedule we have this coming year. When you factor in that you come close to playing the same schedule every 3 to 4 years, how can you have the toughest every year?? Then after all the complaining saw a thread in late Oct commenting that maybe we need to dismiss the wins against Atlanta and Denver. LOL so first we have the toughest schedule ever, then once you win the games the opponents weren't very good.
  5. I think the biggest reason for Sammy being healthy all season was simply the fact that this is a contract year for him, so he played through all the nicks and bruises that in the past years he'd sit out for. Contract years always seem to improve players health.
  6. I've heard/read the same. Each year roughly 10% of NFL officials are "re-assigned" or let go. But as someone else pointed out, you better have a better option for replacing him with, else you've made a bad situation worse.
  7. Up until the Jets and New Orleans game I was in favor of bringing him back next year and using all the draft picks and free agency to surround him with talent. But after watching those games, realized it's time to give up. You're probably correct TT was only bad in 25% of the games, but in the other 75% he was never good either. He just wasn't the main reason for the loss, but did nothing to help pull out a win either. I also would agree that's it's hard in fact very hard to find a franchise QB, but not that hard to get better at QB. Maybe not super bowl winning better, but better. And then if you go back to my comment about using all the draft picks and FA to get better overall talent, you could likely win with just a little better QB play. IMO TT has two main problems, holding onto the ball too long and accuracy. If he just had one of those problems, I do believe he'd be OK as QB and could get team into playoff and would likely agree with your statement that it's hard to get better than him. But with both those problems, no not hard to get better by a noticeable amount, maybe not Tom Brady better, but still better.
  8. Because the do it for a living and 95% of the posters here don't And coaches and front office folks know 95% more than the prognosticators too.
  9. Agreed, his judgement is different than your's and most others here. And it's very obvious that people who post on message boards in their spare time is far superior to that of coaches who practically live with these guys 24/7!
  10. There I fixed it for you. Easy to find a different QB.If finding a franchise QB is as easy as everyone around here talks, all the teams in the league would have one. Instead there are around 1/2 dozen teams that actually have one. Then another 10 to 15 have someone better than TT, but not a true franchise QB. The Bills have a better chance of getting another JP Losman or Rob Johnson, than say an Aaron Rodgers just because there are many more failures than successes.
  11. There would be a certain irony here in that the same thing happened with Eli. San Diego drafted him #1, but he had stated prior to draft he wasn't goin to play for them. So they worked out trade with Giants who used their first pick on Rivers, then traded him and some picks for the Eli pick. Could happen again.
  12. Not stating this specifically for or against TT, but just in general think it's unfair that if a QB scrambles and gains even one yard, that counts as positive rushing yards. But if he gets tackled one yard BEHIND the LOS that counts as a scak, but not counted in any way plus or minus towards rushing yard totals.
  13. If we sign Kirk, that's a multi year deal for big $$ or else he's not coming here. So can't see signing him and then also drafting a guy to develop. If it's TT, then can see it playing out exactly as you describe. Of the two options would rather see the Bills sign a vet (or only draft someone in Rd 2) as overall many of these supposed can't miss prospects in September, now all have some types of question marks or flags. A round #2 pick that fails is much easier to accept.
  14. Was it a 1 year deal or is he signed thru next season too?
  15. They were talking about Norwell this morning on ESPN, commenting that he'll likely be the most highly sought after O lineman Could be they are reluctant to spend money in FA due to impending sale. Though in the grand scheme of things on a $billion dollar sale, what difference does $60 million mena on FA signings. Probably not much
  16. I agree with the idea of building a team with all the picks as opposed to moving up on a QB who may or may not work out. But personally I'd prefer you go with Peterman next year, and draft a QB in the 2nd/3rd round Sorry as good decent as TT has looked some games including this week, 2 games of under 70 yards and a couple others where he was totally ineffective says he's not the answer. This morning ESPN was talking about a can't miss upcoming this off-season FA lineman, don't recal\l the name, but he's a guard from Carolina. Maybe the Carolina connection will come through again.
  17. Probably needs to work on putting on weight and muscle in the off-season. Likely a little different than playing against defenders in C-USA There have been drops by Zay particually early this season, but faulting him for dropping that one is crazy. That would have been a hell of a catch if he'd made it.
  18. Steph has got a nice contract, but think the money he has is walking around money compared to guys buying an NFL team. Kind of like the rumors of Jim Kelly buying the Bills. Nice for a public eye, but that's it. At least Kelly is a fixture at the stadium. Yeah that's what I thought so don't get the part about he doesn't know anything about football. May not know much about owning a team. Just to contradict myself, so how'd this guy, ex player afford to buy a team and be the primary owner? Was there a ton of family money?
  19. didn't he play in the NFL??
  20. One of the problems with franchise QB's once they reach their second contract, unless they are a top level elite franchise QB, like Brady Rodgers, Brees, and Big Ben their salary takes up to much of the cap to keep a strong enough team around them. Wilson is good, but not worth the money he's being paid.
  21. Yeah we could have went with 60 yard per game TT instead. TT played well today, but the week prior to Chargers had 56 yards against NO and the week prior stats looked decent against Jets, but was mostly in garbage time. TT is what he is, do agree with many that the team could have played more to his strengths, but he's had more shaky outings than good games. Though will admit am torn between keeping TT around for another year and with all the draft picks strengthen the rest of the team, mainly both sides of line. Maybe use 2nd round pick on a QB. This year in Sept there were 4 or 5 can't miss franchise college QB's, now there are 4 or 5 college QB's who all have question marks in one way or another, could be great or all middle of the road. Based on that, not sure it's worth moving up in the draft for any of them, or at least the ones from the Pac 12
  22. Ding, Ding, Ding!! We have a winner dumbest post of the week. OK you want to debate RB, fine, but QB. That is the one position on the field that never gets subbed out for barring injury. This isn't college football with no limits to the number of players on the sideline. If you bring in someone else , you expect them to learn enough in one week to be effective. That also means for every minute you have this new guy running plays, that's one less play run with the 1st string. 25 years ago, the coach just says, we're extending practice an extra hour for the new guy to learn, but that doesn't work today. If you're going to activate a 3rd QB who hopefully would never even see the field. which position group would you suggest we have one less active player for? And keep in mind every other position likely is one that the active backups all play in. Almost every team in the league only has 2 QB's active, and if it gets to the 33rd guy, the team is in deep trouble and we're no different. We were unique all season in that Webb was active I believe almost every week as Webb played ST. Which I'm sure today, Webb won't be playing any ST.
  23. Currently on this poll his approval rating is at 91%. Hard to believe that compared to all the negative "Fire McDermott" post on this site. I was expecting it to be about 60% from all the comments you read here. Guess it must mean a small number of folks crusading.
  24. Don't see anything about how much this will cost, how much they make in concession sales, and how much more they expect to make as a result of these renovations which not surprised to not see any of that listed. So considering we basically no nothing, can't see any reason to question why they are doing it. Likely compared to the cost of a new stadium and what they may be able to make in increased sales could mean the payback is less than 5 years so then why not.
