Not all that bad if Shaddy goes
Ed_Formerly_of_Roch replied to Niagara Dude's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'd think the NFL would first want to see where this ends up from a police investigation. If they never find the person that broke in would be hard to implicate McCoy from a criminal standpoint. That being said the NFL can still go after him and likely will investigate big time, however not sure it would happen before this season ends particularly with appeals that can drag things on. Without finding the person who broke in a lot of both pointing fingers at eachother. Likely need to find other people to sort through it all which again could take time. My take is it's easy to draft a RB to go for 1000 yards next spring if they have a halfway decent team around him, so assume Shady does make it through this year, I'll be surprised if he's around next season between this event and the fact that he'll be 31. Probably the best thing that could happen to Buffalo is the NFL suspends him year end as then the Bills may not take as big a cap hit for him. -
Did McCoy have anything to do with this, who knows, but assuming the story is true that she got robbed and beat up. (Pretty certain she didn't hit herself), if they specifically asked for items given to her from McCoy, he's having this bad court battle with her already, and supposedly he's stated he wants the jewelry back per other posts here. Think it kind of makes it a good chance he was involved to some level. On top of that, its not his 1st issue with the law. Will he be found guilty, I'd guess not cause he hired a good lawyer and will be a hard thing to proof unless someone rolls over on him, but the NFL may still suspend him. There's another whole thread about Darius latest escapade. Didn't see any posts there condemning the press, you could have posted the identical thing there just replaced McCoy's name. How come?? Oh because it doesn't affect your favorite team in fact it involves a player most Bills fans hate. So when talking about "journalistic integrity", there's really no integrity by Bills fans either. Any player on other team guilty as charged, involving a Bills player innocent and condemn anyone that speaks otherwise without absolute proof. And that's fine, but stop ripping the press for it. I think a big reason all these things get reported today by the press is people do so many more stupid things so no shortage of things to report. 60 years ago Micky Mantle was a good old boy, today he'd be an alcoholic. People may get into fist fights, today they shoot them. Drugs were only used by low life drug addicts and women who got hit, were basically looked at as women that deserved it.

Glad I like Football
Ed_Formerly_of_Roch replied to Ed_Formerly_of_Roch's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Actually the one thing I thought I did know was the Bird rule, but I thought it referred back to when he was drafted as a junior, but then went back and played one more year. Boston had drafted him low the year prior as knew he was going back to school but then kept his rights after the following season. Thought that was the Bird ruie, guess I don't even know that one. -
Glad I like football better than the NBA. Free agency rules in the NFL are a cake walk compared to the NBA. Between the Rose rule, Bird rights, mid-level exception, luxury tax, biannual exception, non-tax exception, expiring contracts, restricted Bird, etc.. the list goes on . How can anyone figure that thing out!

For the sake or argument, assuming Allen does become another JP, if TP fires them for that, then there's really no hope for them as owners as the likelihood of finding a real good franchise QB is about 30%. As long as the rest of the team shows improvement, keep them and try again. I do think too that deep down TP does seem to be the patient type while he has made some fast hires and fires, there were some extenuating circumstances around them.

So if I wanted to watch iton All Access via my computer since I'm out of market, would need to use some IP spoofing app rather than GPS I'd assume?? -
Stream Bills games on CBS All Access
Ed_Formerly_of_Roch replied to nucci's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
This merger with Time Warner don't believe it's with the part of the business that provides cable and internet access. This is the part of Time Warner that produces content that then could then be broadcast via AT&T or DTV. Time Warner sold their internet access and cable part of the business off a year or 2 ago to Charter which then re-branded it to Spectrum So no one is "with Time Warner" anymore unless you are a movie producer If anything the could give more ability for the content to be distributed only via DTV -
Stream Bills games on CBS All Access
Ed_Formerly_of_Roch replied to nucci's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I've been thinking that would have happened the last couple of contract but DTV backs up the brinks truck and offers the NFL more money than they can get elsewhere so they sign up again. DTV know without ST, they'd be out of business quickly as many more will dump them in droves, even so more people are cutting the cord as not worth $100 a month or more, plus the price of ST on top of that and will go to these "grey" area legal options like VPN, Reddit, etc. Yeah the Verizon deal was a nice perk to customers could stream without using data. NFL may find very few additional subscribers to this as won't want to pay for data. If you live in western NY area, can still dump cable DTV, whatever and buy an antenna for over the air and can watch all the Bills games that way. If out of the area, then this won't help you anyway. I dumped DTV at the end of last season, bought a TIVO with an antenna. I'm out of the area, so will be looking for another option for Bills games, probably will use Reddit as that seemed to work well last year. I planned ot dump DTV at the end of the season so many weeks I'd try Reddit to see how reliable it was and for the most part, was never not able to get he game with pretty good quality. -
Requiem for a sports columnist
Ed_Formerly_of_Roch replied to WIDE LEFT's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Didn't I read here that Sully and others were offered buyouts? That's much different than being shown the door. He's 73 years old, getting a buyout at that point, I'm sure he's laughing all the way to he bank. He's a columnist, not a true beat reporter, so he really doesn't need sources, he is paid to write what he wants. Someone who can write what he wants and have it published, I think that's called a job!. His editors apparently didn't delete the stuff because they thought it was good. Sorry you don't understand that! -
Mock Draft Has Bills Selecting At #1.....
Ed_Formerly_of_Roch replied to Bill from NYC's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Completely agree with you, except, last year at this time, how many people had the Giants with the #2 overall pick?? -
Julio Jones Trade possibilty?
Ed_Formerly_of_Roch replied to dwight in philly's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Agree you could do the contract such that has a low 1st year base salary with a decent size signing bonus and a 2nd year has a large base salary and maybe even a 2nd bonus -
Shaq Lawson on roster bubble
Ed_Formerly_of_Roch replied to bobobonators's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The one thing Lawson has going for him is a cheap contract. Think he may have to outplay Hughes, they then keep Shaq and cut Hughes for $$ reasons. I also do agree not likely at all he gets cut, but do see him getting traded. Which may also play into the first part I stated, do we cut Hughes to save money or trade Shaq. Think if it came down to those two options they trade him, assuming he doesn't light things up. -
Julio Jones Trade possibilty?
Ed_Formerly_of_Roch replied to dwight in philly's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Because of this I do this there is some level of truth to this story. I'm sure every team in the league that has top level players in the last year of their contract gets calls from other teams about said player. Team probably always says sure for a kings ransom. Likely too as time goes on time goes on, the number of picks drops off that team can get. Think if by the start of training camp he's not signed, wouldn't rule out a trade with some one. I don't follow things that close would Lawson be a good match for the Atlanta defense. Throw him in next years #1 and 3. Seems when trades for a player in the NFL are made, teams rarely get back the value you'd think they should get in return. -
Mock Draft Has Bills Selecting At #1.....
Ed_Formerly_of_Roch replied to Bill from NYC's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
But that could make the pick worth more. This year was it worth trading up to #1 overall or even #2? Probably not as had a choice between 4 to 5 with none standing head and shoulders above the rest. Next year if only one good one, pick could be worth more. Or could be only one good one, but even the one isn't good enough to move up that far to get. -
Mock Draft Has Bills Selecting At #1.....
Ed_Formerly_of_Roch replied to Bill from NYC's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
If they really had the #1 overall, likely there will be some QB next year with that high a draft level that could trade with another team for a bundle of picks -
So the fee for bus lot parking is going up from $60 to $100 per bus and a permit will be required. So with around 40 to 45 people per bus the old fee would have cost around $1.50 per person, now it will jump way up to $2.50 a person. And somehow charging each person on the bus $2.50 each, they somehow think that's going to reduce unruly behavior?? Was there an extra zero missing maybe on the report?? For $1000 a bus could see it having an impact. Those bus trips often buy up the lower end zone seats which I think are some of the worst view seats to begin with so if it did decrease the bus trips, they may have trouble selling some of those seats too. One this new policy does seem to prove, The Bills must be missing Russ's marketing prowess.

5 Way-too-Early picks from CBS
Ed_Formerly_of_Roch replied to 1st Ammendment NoMas's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'm sure last year no one thought the Giants would end up #2 overall, so who knows but do agree he's way underselling the overall talent -
I read the article on ESPN before I ever saw your post, just went back and read it again to see was I missing something. My initial reaction before I ever saw your post was, boy if I were Cleveland I'd be worried about Mayfield big time. I didn't see anything wrong with what was written that it had a negative slant. He was inaccurate on his first pass then threw a bad Int, then marched the team down the field and threw a nice fade pass for a TD. And you feels that's overly negative. WOW!! Think you need help! Have you been to all the OTA's? How do you know he hasn't thrown half his passes into the dirt? I'm not in any way against Allen, hope he does great and don't in any way knock the Bills for drafting him, infact of everyone they could have picked, the only one I may have picked ahead of him was Darnold. But if an article likes this makes you this defensive of the guy, think you need a new hobby.
