  1. And Woods and Goodwin were both gone before Beane got here. However thats' no excuse Beane still should have signed him, even though already gone.
  2. If Peterman struggles then go with Allen. Struggles likely meant lost games, with the early schedule likely anyone could struggle with the overall team around him. At that point the season is likely lost anyway, so then give Allen the start. By then are thru the tough part of the schedule and he has learned something watching from the sideline too. On the other hand if your position is not to start Bridgewater week 1, likely be week 2 or 3 from the sounds of things AJ would be fine to go back to anyway, maybe even from game 1 from what we're hearing. Sounds like AJ would be available in much less time than it would take a new guy to learn the offense and be familiar with those around him. Overall with the injury settlement, plus guaranteed money, and then pay Bridgewater, it would likely cost more to bring him in so what is gained, appears nothing IMO
  3. So you bring in Bridgewater a now week before season starts, no reps with players, doesn't know playbook, no prior work with coaching staff. And you think he'll be better than Peterman. Great idea if this was Madden football, then it work work fine!!
  4. Yes but t hat doesn't change the fact that all you're doing is swapping out one backup for another. And two of them who when with the Bills could never even get on the field due to health issues. As someone pointed out yesterday, our issues aren't depth, it's the starting five. So don't see how this changes anything. You want to complain about play on the line, fine. But complaining about not keeping the two you mention is pretty laughable.
  5. I realize the players don't want 18 games, but wonder if they've figured out how much taking the revenues away for those extra two pre-season games will lower the overall cap? I'm sure thye'd all say we care more about our health than the money.... until they no longer get the money.
  6. He could have challenged it, but from what I saw very likely would never have been reversed. One of those plays not conclusive enough either way, in fact think it was more conclusive that he was short. When the knee hit the ground he was still short. Fox stopped the replay and looking at the replay you could easily argue the ball was even with the sticks, but IMO when they stopped the replay was after the knee was already down. If the replay was backed up a few frames to when the knee first hit, the ball was still short or at the very least too close to over turn.
  7. So who brings more to the table? Getting Jack Nicklaus to show up for a few games or dating the owners daughter?? Since Kim turned me down, I'll go with keep Jack around. (though admittedly Croom seems much better of the two)
  8. Agreed with you, When Woods got hurt and Groy filled in the last time at center was Cog already here or was that the year prior? Glenn also played pretty well that season too, before getting all nicked up.
  9. Watkins would have been gone now with nothing at all in return. Dareus, agree better WHEN he fels like showing up. And hopefully doesn't get suspended again for something stupid that he does.
  10. I think we far outplayed Caolina's 1st team.
  11. And they didn't count on losing Cog after FA was basically over, and even Woods, admittedly they did have time to address that spot which they did with Bodine. So far hasn't worked too well. I'll wait for the real games to start though as can recall last pre-season people were saying the same thing. The first half of the season they were still shaky, but by Nov/Dec they were holding their own.
  12. It's possible McD publicly states the competition is still ongoing so as not to let the Ravens know anything. But in all the closed practices which are most Allan is getting all the work. That may work for a few days, but eventually the truth will leak out, and then likely he'll announce thta they are going with Allen.
  13. When you compare Allan to other young QB's today, he could be very good, good enough to lead a team deep into the playoffs by his 3rd season assuming he keeps improving at his current rate. KB could easily still be in his prime. Really doubt you'd get much of any return for Hughes and Clay. The Bills already have two young draft picks on the line in Dawkins and Telleir. They could go out and get one top level interior line FA, use one more fairly high pick on another lineman and the line could be pretty good pretty quickly. You don't need 5 all pros out there, no other teams have that either. Put three talents guys out there and all of a suden the other two look much better too.
  14. After reading this article would think Rex Ryan has a gained alot of interest in Allen.
  15. LOL when I saw the headline, my first thought was "I wonder what team he's on?"
  16. I did that for one year too, had the online version, and the questions were: do you have DTV, can you get DTV, and have you ever had DTV at this address. At the time I was able to answer no to all of them. Since then did have DTV for a few years, now canceled, so would be easy for them to tell me sorry you can get DTV at this address. Unless they really don't care?? May be one of these things as long as you answer no, legally DTV is in the clear to sell you the package, and would make me libel for any illegal streaming, copyright, etc issues?? And if you are willing to buy it, they will sell it to you. Or the second option be going with the "different install address" option. Does anyone know if nursing homes, assisted living would automatically qualify as could then use my mothers address. Her window also faces north which would not work then either. the other option if he's fairly computer savoy is go thru Redit
  17. Have never read anything either way, did they find any evidence of CTE being worse in people who took roids? Probably had to tell as likely just about ever football player out there who is now old enough to start seeing the effects of CTE played back in the era of rampart steroid use. And maybe I shouldn't say rampart, but certainly in a time when they couldn't be detected and no penalties for using.
  18. It appears the view going is better than coming,
  19. Well I had the 900 part right, just left off the 7 in front of it! Not a big difference!!
  20. Yes understand there's a cap hit, but thought I read his guaranteed money this season was $900k and next year $1000M relatively small numbers by today's standards. Didn't think he got a huge signing bonus so didn't think overall the cap hit would be too bad. My question though just in general, can you outright cut an injured player and not cost any money other than the cap hit? Is that allowed? OK just saw Limeaids reply, so they can cut him but would be an injury settlement and believe then the rules are the Bills are the one team that can NOT resign him this season. Wasn't there a QB a few seasons back the Bills cut in pre-season, not injured then resigned after week 1, that way didn't have to guarantee full years salary?
  21. Except in College with a relatively handful of games each week, the first three weeks, the big boys tend to take turns playing the "Sisters of Divine Intervention" If you eliminate pre-season, I think you will see an increase in injuries the first couple of weeks of the regular season too then.
  22. Would be kind of ironic if Allan is the first of this draft class to be named the starter as he was the one supposedly least ready to start. Addmittedly I still have some concerns as in per-season all he's been seeing are the rubber bullets. How will he actually hold up when the real ones start to fly?
  23. May also have been they knew this years draft 2018, likely was going to produce 4 to 5 elite QB's so let the seaosn play out and then decide what to do May also be he didn't think the team would have done as well last year as they did and would have had a much better draft pick than they had.
  24. Can they just cut him, or is that not allowed since he's hurt? Can't see wasting an "IR possible to return slot on him."
  25. Agree, think you sign a young guy who would welcome two preseason games of exposure, hoping down the road some team were to pick him up, basically an audition tape. Or even back to Buffalo if one of their other starters got hurt dow nthe road. Assuming AJ hadn't got hurt, I think the Bills would have kept all three QB's on the 53, but like most teams on game day, one is in-active So effectively you have two QB's to get through any given game. If one of those two were to get hurt then the following week, the in-active 2rd string QB would be active. Unless the Bills really think AJ should be their starting QB, you could just as easily cut him and just go with two active QB's on any given week, but would like a 3rd guy for the next two preseason games. On Sept 1st, you cut AJ and the new guy and if either Allen or Peterman were to get hurt, hope at least one of those two you cut were available to resign.
