Right Side of the Line...
Ed_Formerly_of_Roch replied to Paulus's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I do wonder if part of the problem too isn't enough continuity yet for the starters. That concerned me pre-season with Morse basically missing the entire time, then juggling Ford, Ty and Feliciano. Maybe it will improve some with time, but the juggling also continues. The problem ultimately comes down to their 5 best players are a center, three guards and a questionable tackle. Does make me wonder a little about Ford long term. Do they feel that give him a year and he'll be OK at RT or will he always be much stronger at guard. And if so where do you play him next year? Move either him or Feliciano to RG and not re-sign Spain?? Spain certainly isn't the week link though either. -
Dr. Chandler#81’s concussion observations
Ed_Formerly_of_Roch replied to Chandler#81's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
What did Gronk just state,he's had 100's of them, but how many are reported. If there was concussion protocol back in the 90's Kelly would have been removed from the SB against the Giants with about one minute left. In away that play may have even cost them the game as caused him to need to use a TO then which prevented them from having it left at the end which would have allowed them to run an extra play or two to get closer. -
How is Josh Allen being coached?
Ed_Formerly_of_Roch replied to Stallions's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
If Daboll is on the sideline, likely Dorsey is up in the coaches booth. As has been stated by many, if this ruins Allen, he was already ruined. You see much worse every week, Marrone almost getting into a fight with Ramsey 2 weeks ago. Belichick smashing Surface Pro's and screaming at players including Brady. -
If Green or Digg's or anyone else were to become available as a FA, great sign him, but not in favor of giving up any resources as the return is likely not worth it. Of all the positions on the field WR is usually one of the toughest for a new guy to come in as regardless of how talented he is, he also needs to be on the same page as QB and that takes time to develop. Allen is still raw, one of his problems may be he thinks to much instead of reacting as still doesn't have enough experience to just simply react. The last thing I want is Allen back there thinking "Lets see where does the new guy want he ball again" At this point guys he's most familiar with will help him the best. Typically you bring a new WR in, he spends extra practice time with the QB, again at this point any extra time Allen might have can be better spent elsewhere I'd think. I recall back around 1990, the Bills brought in James Loften think it was around this same point in the season, took some time for him to begin to look good, certainly by season end he was looking real good, but that was also with a QB who's been here for around 3 to 4 years too. Bring the new guys in off season when Allen has time to work with him, but not now when it just may add to his confusion. And not worth spending resources for little return. I'd extend this thought to all the Duke Williams fans out there too. He likely also hasn't had much time working with Allen either add in that he himself is still very raw too. At this point for the Bills the best strategy might be WRT, WR dance with the girl who brought you even if that girl is named Zay! The Bills aren't winning the SB this year either way.

That's complete nonsense. You see the same garbage after wins too!!

The other one they could get rid of next year with little cap hit is Kroft. If Knox and Sweeney keep developing, think it may happen. Actually think it may come down to him or Smith He could be cut and never have played a down for the team.

Maybe we miss Jordan Mills?
Ed_Formerly_of_Roch replied to AlCowlingsTaxiService's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Do wonder if a big part of their overall problem on the line is not enough continuity. Morse basically missed all of camp and Ford was constantly flipped back and forth between guard and tackle. Jose was moved between guard and center. The left side was the same all camp and they aren't looking to great either, but some might be to churn around them. -
The way we were punting int's on deep balls may have given us better field position! After yesterdays game wonder if they are trying out punters as we speak. Last two weeks Bojo's regressed. I think the sacks also hurt alot as one time took us out of field goal range and other time on the miss made it 5 yards longer. On the other hand if we had made both of those field goals, likely would have also kicked the one where we went for it on 4th down, plus on next to last drive would have kicked. Belichick is known to do something to confuse the opposing offense, make me wonder if there was something he kept doing to confuse Allen to make him think he had the long ball wide open. The question to me does Allen finally learn from this and realize what worked in Wyoming isn't going to work here. He is still young, only played 2 years of college and not at the highest level competition wise, and he can certainly make the throws that very few others can. Overall too the team is still weak offensively both at WR and O-line, think the interior of the line os good assuming they do move Ford in there, but at least one of not two tackle positions are shaky. Could also use either a true #1 WR from the draft or sign another strong #2 like Brown.

The Pick Play That Got Gordon Open
Ed_Formerly_of_Roch replied to H2o's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think that was the problem, Wallace instinctively tried to avoid him and by doing so there was no contact. Hard to call a penalty when no contact. If he had tripped completely over him, likely would have got the call. -
Did Jonathan Jones purposely take out Josh Allen?
Ed_Formerly_of_Roch replied to HOUSE's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Bills fans are fine, but just try and be objective for once. But then again fan is short for fanatic so I guess it's to be expected. -
Except it's Zay every week.

Did Jonathan Jones purposely take out Josh Allen?
Ed_Formerly_of_Roch replied to HOUSE's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
LOL Sounds identical to you except you're a Bills apoligist. I get it people are upset, but to claim this was intentional is just plain stupid as you or no one else has any idea. As was pointed out, Allen lowered his head too. -
Make the trade for Stephon Diggs

Offensive tackle = biggest need
Ed_Formerly_of_Roch replied to NewEra's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I mean did Zay even play in the pre-season. As little as any of the starters played, don't recall seeing him much which don't mean that in a negative way as hardly any starters play in the pre-season anymore league wide. As far as Duke outplaying him, most of Dukes playing time was against other players who also aren't even on an NFL roster today either. I do agree with the thread though, the biggest issue seems to be line play, don't worry about the WR -
Make the trade for Stephon Diggs
Ed_Formerly_of_Roch replied to John from Riverside's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
If you want to make a trade, trade for Trent Williams as IMO the O-line is the bigger issue, though don't want to give up the farm for him either. Maybe the issue with the line is lack of playing together in the pre-season and will get better, but right now not sure they look much better than last year, at least wrt to pass blocking. -

Schedule/playoff format suggestion:
Ed_Formerly_of_Roch replied to Dkollidas's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Totally disagree for exact reasons you mention. I like that you're giving a big reward to the teams that actually played the best all season. I prefer seeing the best two teams meeting in the conference championship games and the Super Bowl instead of some years having the 8th seed playing the 6th seed in the SB. There's talk of college football expanding their playoffs, and most often you hear 8 teams. If I were in charge I'd go to 6 teams and again award byes to the top two for the same reasons. Let the best teams meet for the championship. -
Devin Singletary unlikely to play per Rapaport
Ed_Formerly_of_Roch replied to Estro's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yes but you need players that buy into what is going on around him. And from some comments made sounds like that wasn't in the cards with McCoy. -
I actually think there is some truth to that in that the offense is still somewhat shaky so feel like OK we hve the lead, lets not do anything stupid to let them back in the game. But by becoming too conservative the other team and mistakes have allowed the other team to get back in it. I do think they know this wek will require 60 minutes of pedal to the metal all game.

Kick/Punt Return concerns
Ed_Formerly_of_Roch replied to Jerry Jabber's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Wouldn't be surprised if during practice he's also booming them and that's why they have stuck with him longer as they know he has it in him, but on game days is inconsistent. At some point though either they will need to see improvement during games or they may look elsewhere. The other thing in his favor may be there aren't any better options, but again if keeps punting bad, the other bad options may become better ones. -
We need another weapon...
Ed_Formerly_of_Roch replied to Hebert19's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I don't know if I were going to give away the farm, think I may prefer goign for the OT from Washington, or someone similar and maybe only need to sell the north 40.
