  1. Well if you go by what's the popular choice, many more people here calling for 6 to 7 WR's than DL. So to answer your question, according to the experts here on this site, yes WR is a bigger need! Everyone here's in a panic over Morse staying healthy so would think based on that OL should also be a higher priority. I'll promise you one thing, there's a much better chance of Kroft missing the 1st game due to injury than Murphy. If as Beane mentioned, they keep him on the active 53, likely one of the extra roster spots will go to TE. So again TE also may be higher than DL. Personally I do think Kroft ends up on PUP, but will see, Are you saying they need more than 2 backups or their backups aren't very good? If it's that they aren't very good, can't see wasting a roster spot on more mediocre talent. Or are you saying for some strange reason 2 backups at DE isn't enough for the Bills even though that's pretty much the norm for every other team? Murphy had one major injury and missed a year. Could he re-injure it sure, but just as likely it doesn''t happen or just as likely a players who's never ever been injured gets hurt in the 1st game. And if it does happen, then you place him on IR and sign someone else. Seems to me Lawson has missed more time that he has over the past few seasons. If you're adding depth just in case someone were to get hurt, then you probably need extra players at every position and the numbers just don't add up. There's probably one "wild card" spot open on each side of the ball to add a player above the normal roster allotment. Will it go to Yarbourgh, maybe. Certainly no one extra a DT competing against for the spot. Could come down to him or a CB. Or for whatever reaosn, they decide to add both extra players to offense side
  2. So tell me where we need less than normal depth? Everyone wants to see at least 6 or even 7 WR, some posts calling for 4 to 5 TE's Something has to give someplace else if keeping more than 4. He could be the next trade.
  3. Perry and Yeldon were both held out last night which makes me think bot hare safe. Likely would mean keeping an extra RB, not a 7th WR who are maybe only average anyway.
  4. You sure it's not backwards and we had to send the Pat's a 6th rounder so they'd take Bodine?
  5. Reminds me of a scene from Seinfeld when Kramer got fired from a job he never had!
  6. Sorry, I just assumed this site was for meaningful discussion on the Bills, not philosophy 101.
  7. I voted no only becasue doubt it will change until the next CBA which is the year after next.
  8. Yes I meat he's on the roster for tonights game, but would still have been cut Saturday.
  9. Because they traded him! I highly doubt a week before the start of the regular season you'd trade any play who you feel is certain to make your roster unless it significantly strengths you team right now. Would they trade McCoy and Zay for Clowney, likely yes because that markedly improves the team. But if they were offered a 4th and 6th instead of 5th and 6th for lets say Bates who is likely one of the last guys to make the roster, doubt they'd make that trade for just slightly better value. On the other hand if Cleveland offered the 4th and 6th for a different player they also likely were cutting, then likely Teller is still on the roster and the other guys gone instead. The key is you're choosing between two players that are being cut.
  10. Well based on who did and didn't play tonight, I'd think Yeldon and McKenzie are on the roster. Williams may still be on the bubble. I'll be surprised if they keep 7 WR To keep more than the norm at a position, (typically 6) player needs to be someone who you know will be grabbed up quickly by another team and likely will become a star in time. Outside of Brown and Beasley, (and they are a stretch) can't say that about any of our WR so doubt they worry about keeping 7. Do think Mutterlyn also makes the roster. If Gaines had stayed healthy, he was on the team and Mutterlyn basically took his roster spot.
  11. Interesting the part by McD about why he didn't want to take a QB the first year about not having enough time to properly evaluate, is a valid point.
  12. Was reported he had a splinter in his pinky. And it was the hand he places on the ground so that made it an easy decision.
  13. Either out of bitterness or he knows Gaines has too much insider information that he'll never get a fair deal from us.
  14. Missed out or we never were really interested much to begin with. I'm sure if we made a better offer, he'd be coming here assuming Clowney was OK with it. Or he said no to both locations, and the Bills said fine, but for some dumb reason Miami is still going after him even if he told them he doesn't want to go there. And O'Brien is pushing for it, maybe he's afraid if Clowney was added to Buffalo's already strong defense, we could easily end up knocking them out of the playoffs, which would be a real kick in the teeth to him, and could easily see him get fired.
  15. Any truth to something I read yesterday about him filing a grievance about being tagged as OLB instead of DE? If so could see him not signing a tag until that’s settled.
  16. Yes, but the Bills or any team could trade him and not get greedy like Texans and take whatever ever they can prior to July so another team can sign long term. No news to me either means: Bills aren’t interested as reports state Clowney won’t sign tag to go Buffalo or Miami so Texans looking for another team. Clowney is OK with Buffalo but teams can’t agree on deal likely. Eans longer it drags out, less capital going to Texans.
  17. LOL Do find it a bit funny with a thread title of coaches to be fired and you first sentence uses the phrase “interesting to look ahead” as a phrase like that is usually used in positive terms. Do agree with most of your list however.
  18. Will be shocked if Haus, DeMarco, Zay, and likely Love aren’t on the 53. Doubt Croom makes it for no other reason than he’s still out. Starting to agree with Yeldon over Perry too. Not sure about Spain on IR, BUT, he’ll be my surprise cut still think there will be trade to reduce the log jam at WR and RB and wouldn’t be shocked if that included Zay.
  19. Or part of the trade could include Lawson. Would make sense for Texans to get cheap young DL in return. Lawson, McCoy, and WR either Zay, or Foster
  20. But a good chance it may only be 3 of them plus Perry. Unless they feel Yeldons ST Play is as good as Perry.
  21. 3 weeks ago I was very much in favor of a move like this, but now with Johnson’s play, is it worth it? Or better question do we need him? Clowney certainly would be better option the next 1 to 2 years, but beyond could Johnson be almost as good and much cheaper? I’d feel better if it’s like a 3 for 1 deal so as not to give up much in the way of picks and Bills have a number of positions where they likely will be releasing good players, so then really not losing much. Wouldnt say I’m against it, but don’t want to pay a stiff price either.
  22. I agree I think they will go with six, but unless they trade or cut someone, either Duke or McKenzie will be on the outside. If you want to base it on pre-season play personally I'd be fine with cutting Foster.
  23. I was joking if you read the comment I was replying to. My comment was to someone who posted a trade scenario for Clowny and stated likely would also involve including picks, didn't implicitly state it but meant from us to them. So I jokingly implied that Houston was going to send us picks and stated a 1st or 2nd
  24. OK I did, I saw gains of 2, 2, 3, 13, 4 The box score says he had six rushes for 37 yards so must have missed one someplace that was close to 15 yards. Yes he does break off nice runs, but the 2, 2, ,3 and 4 is becoming more of his standard lately. And often there are some minus 2 or 3's in there too. So fro ma report card standard I wouldn't call 2's and 3's good on a report card either.
