Josh Allen - week TWELVE report card
Ed_Formerly_of_Roch replied to rayray808's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I wouldn't fault him on the hard counts as much as the coaching staff for repeatedly trying it. Would like to hear if the Int was Allens fault or was the mix up with a WR as that was so far away from everyone. -
Are we in trouble with Ford?

Just remember who won that one! -
Bills 20, Broncos 3 Game Balls!!
Ed_Formerly_of_Roch replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'd give one to Ford over Allen. You hardly heard either Ford or Millers name which is good for Ford and bad for Miller. In particular when considered Miller is an All-Pro type player. -
Still worried about the Bills' offense?
Ed_Formerly_of_Roch replied to eball's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Agree, they still need a another legit WR, , probably a bruising type of young Frank Gore RB and one lineman either to take Spains place at guard or you move Ford to guard, then sign a FA RT and still draft one too. Earlier in the season I would have said move Ford inside, but today going up against Von Miller, hardly heard Miller or Ford mentioned. Maybe Ford is fine at RT, particularly with a year under his belt. -
Phillips is a no-brainier for the Bills to try to extend. Whether they will be able to or not is debatable as not sure they'll want to pay him as much as he can get on the open market. The Bills just used a top 10 pick on Oliver regardless of what you think of the pick, he's ear marked to be the starter. On the other side Star still is scheduled to earn top $$ next season and from what I've read, too much to cut, plus you have H Phillips as a cheap back up. So how much do you want to spend on a backup to Oliver The one thing in favor of him getting more than you'd think you'd pay for a back up and get him signed in Buffalo is the Bills like this rotation scheme on the D-line so for that, may be willing to play more than most teams would pay a back up. Plus they may realize he is an exceptional good backup We shall see, but wouldn't shock me to see him go elsewhere as he'll get an offer for way more than the Bills are willing to pay him.

Bills future QB ranking- 8th in league
Ed_Formerly_of_Roch replied to Hebert19's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It's very interesting rankings in that teams like NE, New Orleans, San Diego, even Green Bay are all ranked lower. But understand the thought process behind their rankingsso does make sense. But scary too. -
Greg Roman will be an NFL HC
Ed_Formerly_of_Roch replied to Mikie2times's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
There's a long list of former HC who fit that description. -
And lose the LA market for the Chargers!! Are you serious?? LOL My take on flex games is the league doesn't like to move them unless the scheduled game is really terrible and there's a much much better game to takes it's place. Having said that I think Minn is good enough that they'd like to keep on Sunday night, and not sure Buffalo Pitt is that attractive to take it's slot. Don't know what the 4:00 games are, may be take the spot of one of them??

Duke Williams vs Denver
Ed_Formerly_of_Roch replied to Bronxbomber21's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Sure coaches make mistakes, but even then they are basing it on actual information so it's what I'd call an informed mistake as opposed to fans who base it off seeing practically nothing compared to the coaches and it's based about 90% on emotion. -
Duke Williams vs Denver
Ed_Formerly_of_Roch replied to Bronxbomber21's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Agree certainly fans posting on a message board who don't view practice, game film, are sitting in on meetings know much more than the coaches. Maybe Williams will be active this week, maybe not. But do think the coaches are in a better position than a bunch of fanatics obsessed with a player. -

Can the Detractors Now Admit Allen's Growth?
Ed_Formerly_of_Roch replied to H2o's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Sorry, you're all wrong, just read in an article that Allen has shown very little improvement and the Bills should consider signing Kap in the off-season. -
Ty Nsekhe injury - Updated to “day to day”
Ed_Formerly_of_Roch replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Part of the reason he's taken lumps is likely due to him being yanking back and forth between two positions all training camp and even in couple of regular season games. I'm sure this is somewhat true for the entire line as Morse (and a 2nd person, can't recall who) being hurt in pre-season created alot of juggling. I'm OK with moving him to guard IF that's the permanent plan. At this point, not likely that's the plan so leave him there. I wouldn't be upset if during the off-season they decide not to resign Spain, move Ford to guard, and draft a true tackle, either right or left. -
Do you actually know where the home and away's will be or are you just speculating? I had already thought about this but have no idea what is home and away. actually I just went and looked it up, they are playing at San Fran and Arizona, depending when they play Arizona, may only be a 2 hour time difference. For the AFC, they play at Vegas and Denver which also is only 2 hour difference. Often when having multiple west coast trips they will try to schedule two back to back to the team can stay out west in between. If you want to feel sorry for teams having to travel alot, you should feel worse for the teams in the NFC west as they will be making a minimum of 3 trips to the east coast, many 4, and five trips at least as far east as Dallas or further. with all that being said, one thing I've learned trying to predict what teams are going to be good and bad a year in advance is useless. Too much changes and even teams by August predicted to be real good or bad, there will be a couple of surprises.

I think the question will be can he stay healthy with all the running. That's true of Allen too, but do think with Jackson his running sets up his passes more so even that with Allen. Assuming Allen continues to improve just a little bit more on his accuracy, I could see him being a good QB that lasts quite awhile in the league even if his running ability was taken away due to injuries. I'm not sure that would be true of Jackson. When compared to Vick, Vick had six really good seasons, that could be what becomes of Jackson too. We shall see. Interesting stat too when looking at all the QB's take in 2018, Jackson and Mayfield were the only two that played more than two full seasons in college. Basically by the end of this season guy's like Darnold and Allen will have played more games in the NFL than they did in college. Jackson and Mayfield will need another full seaosn before that can be said. Wouldn't shock me to realize that makes a much bigger difference than many think.

Ty Nsekhe injury - Updated to “day to day”
Ed_Formerly_of_Roch replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Most tend to agree that Ford has played better at guard than tackle. So if they had any thought at all of doing that instead of platooning Ford and Ty, why not have already moved Feliciano to RT with Ty and played Ford at guard in his place? -
Allen needs another target
Ed_Formerly_of_Roch replied to Dkollidas's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
He's putting up #1 like number this season. But to remove the "borderline" reference, needs to happen more than one season. Having said that I'd be fine with them signing another Brown like talented player and have two borderline #1 guys out there. Based on where the team is right now overall, think I'd rather see them bring in an experienced guy to start next year as a legit #2 and draft a guy too, but maybe in the 2nd or 3rd. Receivers like Brown are usually available as FA. IMO a bigger need than a WR is a pass rushing DE in the 1st round and likely a offensive tackle in the 2nd. -
The Bills won today because....
Ed_Formerly_of_Roch replied to Virgil's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Bill won because I wore my white Bills shirt I've had since 1991. 4-1 in that shirt this year. Hate to wear it as it's so old, but it works. -
I'll go out on a limb here and say if the Bills knew they were going to draft Knox and Sweeney, they wouldn't have signed Kroft. Suppose you could argue the opposite then why draft a 2nd TE when you already had signed Kroft and Lee Smith. But Teams always "draft the BPA". I do think though based on what Knox has shown so far and Sweeney looked good in the pre-season, wouldn't shock me to see Kroft gone, or ideally traded. The only reason I see him back next year is they feel it's too big of a cap hit to let him go and also pay for a replacement player for him.

Can the Detractors Now Admit Allen's Growth?
Ed_Formerly_of_Roch replied to H2o's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Agree, I wonder if you only looked at passes from say 8 to 20 yards how his completion percentage would compare. -
Can the Detractors Now Admit Allen's Growth?
Ed_Formerly_of_Roch replied to H2o's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I don't think it's party poopers as much as they were against drafting Allen, so the most important thing for them is to show everyone they were right. I tend to also think this accuracy is rather overblown. He's completing just over 60% of his passes. So how many more completions per game should he have to not have perceived accuracy issues. Five?? Assuming he averages 30 pass attempts per game adding 5 completions would put him in the 75% range. Two more per game and he'd about 67% and top 10, three more per game and in the top 5 rankings. Realistically two more passes per game would be enough and how many times are those two passes going to change the outcome of the game. Improve their WR group in the off season may easily get him there. -
Josh Allen - week ELEVEN report card
Ed_Formerly_of_Roch replied to rayray808's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I do think the Bill's playbook needs to have a 2nd player trailing the primary ball carrier by a couple of yards on every play to be right there to jump on all the fumbles. -
John Brown showing he can be a #1 WR
Ed_Formerly_of_Roch replied to Big Turk's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I tend to agree that Brown if not putting up true #1 numbers is certainly close enough that you don't need a to draft a player to become a #1. So if looking to fill a #2 WR slot, I'd tend to think you'd be better finding one as a FA. Those types of guys like Brown are available every year and tend to come relatively cheap and will be able to have an immediate impact. Drafting a guy in the 2nd or 3rd round likely would take at least a year before you'd expect big things from him. I'd still maybe draft a WR in the 3rd, but he's more coming of the bench in 2020.
