  1. Can't blame him much on this one as recall reading Gase never wanted him.
  2. Always wondering when he came to Buffalo, there were two teams interested in him Buffalo and the Bengals. But recall him telling Cinncy he wasn't interested, so he ended up here. His first season here he started out great until around mid season when they played NE. BB made him look terrible. After that seemed like other teams took note of what BB did and tried some of that, (at that point BB wasn't yet labeled a genius) but seemed weren't 100% convinced that was the key to stopping Bledsoe. NE played Buffalo again around week 16 or so, BB did the same and again stopped him cold. After that other teams copied the blueprint and Bledsoe was done. But what if he had instead gone to the Bengals. The AFC east had just played the crossover games against the AFC north the year prior so would have been at least two year before he faced BB and would have only been one game and was late in the season they played. Would he have instead looked much better as he had in the first few games he played in Buffalo and maybe had three more decent years?
  3. so you already know that Kroft, Knox, and Sweeney are all no good. Wow, too bad you're not working for the Bills considering how smart you think you are!
  4. Actually forgot it has been 3 years for McD. Last year they had 10 picks. Many here felt there would be trades as there really wasn't ten roster spots for rookies to take. years prior, don't recall exactly how many picks they did or didn't have. 61 other teams also didn't pick Ju Ju, there's always going to be someone you wish you had picked instead.
  5. How many holes are there really? WR, RT or guard (depending on where Ford ultimately ends up) and DE are to me the three main areas where likely use your first three picks. After that maybe backup LB though the guy on IR this year may fill that role, another RB bruising kind of guy, then in FA pick up another DE, then either resign Phillips or pick up someone in FA for DT. And maybe in the fifth or sixth round or so a punter.
  6. That's often the problem in itself in that the X's and O's are the fun part so even when made HC you still try to become too involved with that part of job.
  7. And then who's playing RT and DT for you? You can't fill all the holes in one or even two drafts. But yes I do think they will go for mote offensive players, in particular a WR and a tackle. Doubt they will resign Spain so Ford moves inside next year, and draft or sign a FA RT. Also could use another RB too But they also do need a pass rushing end and depth at LB though the rookie on IR may solve some of that.
  8. Is it unusual for teams to only dress 7 Offensive lineman? That seems very low. My observation without looking up stats is most teams have 9 on the 53 man roster and dress 8 each week?? Seems they've done that other weeks too. Appears they going light there to keep more DB and D lineman active.
  9. I agree that the Bills are team T and they ate team T whether they are playing a good or bad team. The problem is the Bills have only played one real good team, one team that was supposed to be good, but maybe is so-so, and four real bad teams that have three wins between them. I'll also agree that they are continuously shooting themselves in the foot to stop scoring drives with penalties and turnovers. If they stopped doing that, they likely would be averaging 10 more points a game. But they're not and what's to say that will change? If they go out today and score 35 on Philly that would be a real good sign that maybe they can clean it up. But until that happens I just don't see them continuing to win against the better teams in the league averaging 20 points a game. Maybe they are one of these teams that just plays to the level of the competition and keep games close but usually that will eventually catch up with you. Today will be a good indicator as they are playing a good team that hasn't lived up to their billing so far. Is 5 more points a game a big difference no. To be honest initially I was going to pick a number like around 75 or 80 point differential . If they were up there, I'd feel it's much more sustainable. But then looked at your list and 80 points would place them up around #3 in the league and just don't see them being that good of a team, maybe next season? The 5 point per game differential isn't what worries me, it's the 20 points per game scoring average that is going to lead to loses against better teams.
  10. Better maybe was a bad choice of words. I'll try to make it clearer. If they had a differential of around 60, there's a much better chance they will continue to win games. What's ridiculous to me is if you think the Bills can continue winning say go 11-5 for the seaosn averaging 20 points a game. I also think it's kind of ridiculous for someone to actually post something as stupid as " What makes you or anyone else "feel better" is all psychological and has nothing to do with whether or not the Bills are a good team." I really think most people do understand that their personal feeling won't influence whether the Bills win or not!
  11. But the counter to this is the Bills (and NE) have both played a very easy schedule so should be scoring more points and maybe even a larger differential than they are in these games. When playing better teams they will need to score more points to win. If they had a differential of around 60, I'd feel much better. Not saying the team is terrible, but do agree with some of the headlines that state the Bills are the worst 5-1 team.
  12. No certainly not, but why take any job if you don't think it's a good fit. And if you didn't believe in Darnold, then regardless of anything else, it's not a good fit. If he bombs with the Jets, that's two black marks on his resume, and pretty bad ones too. The likelihood of him getting a third chance is much less. He could have instead sat out this year, and maybe would have got a better offer next year or the year after.
  13. If that's true, why would he have even taken the Jets job when you know there's no way they are giving up on a QB taken #3 overall in favor of the coach. He was still owed money from Miami so not desperate for a job I'd assume.
  14. Agree with the first two as doesn't really weaken the Bills much. Trading Wallace would make the team much weaker now, who and how do you replace him for the remainder of the year. Certainly if they picked up a top CB to replace him, great but otherwise would not let him go. Agree with Foster and Kroft though. You could also add Yeldon to that list too.
  15. I agree no one knows, fans, coaches, players, everyone, has all been BB or Brady. Leaving would end that speculation, but can't see him going to a place that doesn't give him a high shot at winning right away. Actually one article I read suggested Buffalo as a landing spot for that reason, could win right away and best chance to stick it to BB. Really doubt that would ever happen though. The one thing I'd be very surprised to see him do is go someplace because they offered the most money, I think he more cares about winning. If he needs more money he can always just ask Giesle to increase his allowance.
  16. Does he have a contract after this season ends? From what I'm reading that'd rather debatable, likely would become a FA unless he agrees to extend in NE.
  17. Agree Elway would show interest, but why would Brady want to go into that situation where not likely to win in the next couple of years.
  18. I don't know, seems Denver needs more than just a QB to go deep into playoffs? Though the thin air may give him an extra year of playing time.
  19. I picked LB mainly of the 4 areas I feel they need to improve backup LB would likely cost them the least draft capitol to get someone. I really don't want to give up anything lower than a 4th round pick as feel they will need the top 3 picks next year.
  20. I missed the game, watched the play by play on ESPN Gamecast, seemed like in the 1st half, Bills were moving the ball, but penalties and sounds like a couple of drops stopped all their drives and turned them into field goals.
  21. That's my point, if the game were close, they'd have accepted the penalty and the clock stops. Gase may have thanked Bill for running the extra time off last night.
  22. 4 or 5 years back their defense was pretty bad. If it had been better likely he'd have a couple more SB wins. Could see him kind of doing a Peyton Manning type move and go to a team a QB away from winning the SB, but who is that team? Indy, Bears, or Minn??
  23. It worked because the Pats were up 33-0 so the Jets just wanted to get the game over with, in a close game they'd have accepted.
  24. Trouble is for Buffalo to become a real contender, they'd need to pull off about 4 of those moves, WR backup LB , pass rushing end, and maybe a RT unless Ford does settle in the 2nd half of the season. For the Pats giving up a 2nd rounder is OK, but for the Bills, they need their picks. Having said that do expect some type of trade, back up LB may be the most reasonable that likely wouldn't cost a fortune.
