  1. Do you think Houston will send us their first? That bum Beane will probably agree to take their 2nd! A week ago was reading that Houston would likely be taking a 2nd day pick for Clowney and that was before this happened.
  2. Spain could be the surprising cut here, or placed on IR and have an injury settlement. Sounds like he's great in run blocking, but average at best in pass blocking. May be if they feel not a large drop off with either Ike or Teller, keep them and let them develop and improve.
  3. Pretty funny for a guy who couldn't even make an NFL roster the past two seasons. And Jones has about the worst chance of anyone. I only picked 4, the 4 that I'm pretty sure will make it, Brown Beasley, Jones, and Roberts. After that who knows. Doubt they'd keep 7 as none are that great. You only keep extra when someone is really good. After the top 2 or 3, remaining ones all have questions, so not worth keeping extra here. I think if they could trade Jones , maybe package him with Ray Ray and Yeldon for a backup tackle, I'd be fine with that too.
  4. My point was You stated "Evaluate who guys are now" So I am and Williams is a guy who couldn't even get signed by an NFL team the past two seasons, which does translate to who he still may be. And if you want to take it to the nth degree of who they are at this moment in time Williams is a guy who has caught two TD passes in the past two weeks likely against many other both teammates and opponents who won't even be on an NFL roster a week from now but sounds like your argument is none of that matters, sign everyone based on what they've done the past three weeks And as to your why not question the answer is none of them could do it last season, but Zay could. The others all had a chance to, but failed. And if you want to use this argument that nothing in the past matters only what has happened over the past two weeks, then guess John Brown doesn't even make the roster as he only has 3 catches this year and definitely not Foster as he only has one catch and the leading TE is Keith Towbridge so guess he's on the team too then if all you want to go by is what they did now. And BTW Zay's total yardage and yards per catch is better than Duke's too. PS Look at what N Peterman has done this pre season. He's lighting it up, guess you'd be happy trading him for Allan because that's all that matters to you. Could it all change and Williams becomes the next Jerry Rice, sure but not likely based on past performance.
  5. Put Kroft on PUP which likely will happen, then still go with thee TE. Really can't see a reason to go with 7 WR as most are arguing to keep 7 because you can't agree whom to choose from. Not that they are all super talented at that level It's the opposite as what is happening a DE, there you have a 5th guy who's really good, so want/need to keep him on 53. At WR, the choices aren't around potential greatness, the one unknown being Williams.
  6. Someone stated in another thread to be able to be designated to return, you have to first make the 53, then put on IR. No idea on the truth of this, but it does make sense to prevent what you just described.
  7. My only question would be if they decide to move Ford to guard, that only leaves 3 tackles. All this trade talk in other threads, (which I've added to myself) wouldn't mind seeing a trade for a backup tackle then. And would moving Ford to guard leave Spain on the outside? Would your best five then be Dawkins, Ford, Morse, Feliciano, Nsekhe with Long and Teller on the inside and Bates and the new guy outside as backups?
  8. Here's my take on the WR group. You have three definite keepers: Brown, Beasley and Roberts as a return man and 4th/5th WR Assuming like most teams they keep 6 WR you have 4 guys competing for three slots. Reality too is on game day only 5 will be active unless one or two of their starters is somewhat nicked up, then may dress six. So you have 4 guys each bringing a somewhat unique trait: Foster, speed, Browns backup Mckenzie ST play and gadget plays Jones Incumbent starter and most game time experience Williams Size To me the one most expendable is Foster as he's basically a clone of Brown and doesn't bring anything different. If you do keep him on the 53, unless Brown were to get hurt, he may not even dress for games as the other three each bring something unique to the table. Foster is just an identical back up. It also could be why you're not seeing much of Foster. Last year he appeared to have some motivation issues, only after he was cut and returned did he work out. So now the Bills sign Brown, basically taking his spot. Maybe he's now back to the moping phase again while the others are out there making an impression? Not saying they shouldn't keep Williams, but do need to be reminded for perspective, he has looked strong the past two games, but is doing it against guys both for and against that half won't even be on an NFL roster in a week. However for that same reason I wouldn't cut Jones to keep Williams either as some are suggesting. You want Williams on the roster, cut one of the others instead and that leads me back to Foster.
  9. But the counter argument to that is after he got cut by was it the Rams, no other teams jumped up and signed him then either. Evaluate who guys are now you say. Well Williams is a guy who couldn't make an NFL roster the last two years. I do have to give Zay somewhat of a pass as the past two seasons QB play has been such a mess, easy to have mistakes and miscommunications Personally I'd rather let see them cut Foster if we want to make room for both.
  10. I'd try and trade Zay for a backup tackle or picks. If as some suggest Zay has little trade value, (personally I disagree) then would keep him and consider releasing Foster to make room for McKenzie and Williams Zay was one the same page as JA something like 54 times last year. I also think many here are over valuing these WR at the bottom of the depth chart. They all bring unique attributes to the team, but are also similar in overall abilities. Are they really better than one of the top 5 or is it just "We can't lose this guy"
  11. Because you lose a timeout. That is pretty severe inb a regular season game. Like the announcers were saying last night, coaches are challenging right now because they don't care a whole lot about time outs in pre-season. It's why you see a team scores a late TD, behind by one, they go for two for the win instead of the tie. Happens in pre-season, but not during the regular season. Wouldn't worry about it, not having during the regular season unless much more obvious.
  12. Agree, Shady did look himself, running into the line for no gain or loss of one. Granted he had less than ten total attempts so hard to gauge, he had two decent runs but the rest were for losses for the most part. I think it could come down to who they feel gives them more total overall value, him or Yeldon and keep one of them, plus Gore and the rookie. Maybe MoCoy gets the nod for locker room presence.
  13. I tend to agree. He may be one of these guys like last year constantly needs to be kicked in the rear to stay motivated and the Bills may just feel, we gave you one shot last year, you're back to where you were again, no thanks. Good luck to you! As was pointed out in another thread, actually may have been by you, when you factor out the normal roster makeup, leaves two wild card spots to add an extra player. One I'm almost certain is going to DE, unless they decide to cut Love as no way they cut Johnson. I'd think the second wild card would go to Perry for special teams play To keep both Williams and McKenzie means cutting another WR. Of all Foster may be the most likely.
  14. Agree! If he improves his completion percentage by say 5 to 8 percent, and he occasionally makes one of those throws, can live with it, would prefer he learns from it but that is who he is a true gunslinger.
  15. Were there really that many actual penalties or were they just being over-officious jerks?
  16. They've suggested that but the problem is Washing ton doesn't have the cap space.
  17. Well McCoy hasn't been doing anything so far in the game to make them not consider cutting/trading him. May actually come down to how Yeldon plays. Go with Gore, Yeldon and the rookie.
  18. I do think there will be 9 DL unless they decide to cut Love or Harrison the DT. Doubt they can go light on the O-line either with Morse still being out. Can see them adding one more RB too in Perry for ST play. Or they shock everyone and cut DeMarco (which would make many here happy) Adding the DL and RB with your numbers would get them to 53.
  19. If you read through all the postings here, you'll find one in favor of keeping 7 LB's, another for 9 Def lineman, another for 6 to 7 WR, another recommending 10 O-lineman, one for 5 TE, and another for 5 RB Some posters won't be very happy next week!
  20. But he has to make another teams 53, and for the same reasons he won't make our 53, likely would apply to other teams too with the exception of some other team that's hit by many injuries in back field.
  21. Glad to see someone bring up Wade in a new thread!
  22. Victor Cruz was on the radio yesterday commenting how he wanted to play as much in the pre-seaosn as he could. His philosophy was if he's playing he gets exposure so if the Giants were to cut him, other teams would see he's still good and sign him. Wonder how many other players would feel the same? Can see where this entire pre-season process is becoming a complete farce with no one playing and likely will change with the next CBA, but the other side is players on the fringe are helped by playing these games and also helps the coaches decide whom to keep. Also helps teams with new coaching staffs and/or large turnover. My proposal would be: Report to camp 4 to 5 days later than today and the first 10 days or so of camp are similar to today regardless if it's in home training facility or go away to place like SJF The weekend of first pre-season games replace that with mandatory 2 to 3 day scrimmage with another team. Scrimmages may be somewhat limited in the amount of hitting certain types of plays can be run. Weeks 2 and 3 still have pre-season games as normal Week 4 replace last game with another scrimmage but teams are only allowed to dress maybe around 45 players wearing a red jersey. Basically its to figure out who the last 5 players or so you cut/keep are. Cut downs after that.
  23. Could be there's a couple of names Beane is pretty confident will become available next week once the rosters are cut down and he's waiting on them.
  24. So what happens when you split? Looking at the list I counted at least 18 teams that doubt the Bills would beat home and away, more likely could see a split. Who then is better? Next you need to look at top to bottom talent and think there are more than 5 with better overall talent or a wild card like an Aaron Rogers or Brady that maybe Bills overall have more talent, but the wild card evens things out. so overall I'd say maybe around 10 are clearly better and then the Bills are somewhere in the mix of the next ten. By around December we'll know if they are near the top of that group, and maybe even leap frogging some currency in the top 10, but some of the others in that middle 10 could also improve even more.
  25. This is Mike Schoop's producer, Thank you for talking about us and keeping us in the public eye. Without people like you commenting on our show, we'd probably be off the air. But you help keep us relevant!"
