  1. As long as he has football in his life he has structure and seems to do OK then. So likely through any practices, OTA, camp, etc, he'll likely do well, as well as 36 YO who hasn't played in a year can do I should preface that with. But if he gets cut, then all bets are off, and likely he'll even realize then at 36 he's done. Time to get the kids off the streets and hide the guns and women as who knows what may happen next.
  2. As has been stated doubt Jones would be available and/or at too high of a price. Clowney hasn't exactly lived up to the hype. Think I'd rather go after McCoy from Tampa at a much lower price tag. He's much older, but am only looking at him as at most a two year player. Next year make either DE or OB as your 5 star free agent signing and use high draft pick on whichever you don't sign.
  3. No you're the one taking things to seriously. you started the thread not me for the purpose of complaining how 2 supposedly identical takes got different grades. And you then gave the writer an "F" Only people who have very thin skins start threads over things that are completely subjective, but God help anyone who is critical!
  4. Ahhhh Did he hurt your feelings?? Poor Baby!! It's his opinion, just like it's your opinion that INTERPRETATION of the two paragraphs say they same thing. The first one stated " However, the real work of art by New England in this draft lies in how it navigated the board for its next couple of picks." The Bills did none of that so for the first paragraph this was worth the A and is more valuable than what the Bills did and didn't do. They are not the same, but you choose to put on your Bills colored glasses and somehow come to the conclusion they are the same and then get all upset because the writer didn't see it that way. So wheres' your intellectual honesty? There is none except you choose to read words that fit your narrative.
  5. So what were the league averages those same years? Were they up? Maybe there were more penalties called last season overall, don't know. Without knowing that part, no idea if this is really getting worse or not or is it a league trend, just caused by tighter/more calls. Having said that I'll also agree with many other who blame it on lack of talent and also player churn, i.e. inexperience, tweaking the lineup, etc. All the pre-snap penalties can be attributed to new QB and many new/different lineman.
  6. #1 I'd be OK with trading for Clowney, Maybe one of the Oline just signed and while I somewhat hate to part with him, would offer Lawson as he'd become a bit more expendable with signing Clowney #2 Why would you trade even a 6th rounder for a guy who at best would be the number three TE behind Kroft and Dawson. And personally I think Croom is better than many here think so not certain Brate wouldn't fall to the #4 TE #3 I'd trade for Green too, but think he could be had for less than #1. Teams only give up #1's for true superstars and don't think he's at that level. I know Dallas gave up a #1 for Cooper, but that was a mid-season trade and most felt at the time they overpaid. I'd offer Zay Jones and a 3rd or something similar.
  7. Many on this board last year were stating how the team was crazy to expect a 5th round draft pick to be in anyway productive as a QB. In hindsight they were correct, now we want to keep an un-drafted guy at the expense of Anderson? Barring an amazing training camp from him, you cut him and assign him to practice squad, if another team else signs him, so be it, not a big loss.
  8. Assuming Hughes has a good to decent season, can't see him then agreeing to a one year deal, why would he if other teams will sign him for two or three years? He's not that old that with another good season behind him some team will give him a better than one year deal. So what would be the impact of signing the 5th year option for Lawson, and then turn around next Feb and cut him. Thought I read a couple months back that was an option? Is there a cap hit to do that? And how much of a hit?
  9. Agree And you cut TJ and assign him to practice squad. If another team signs him good for him. This guy was undrafted for a reason. Too many Buffalo fans are thinking with their heart here and not there head. Anderson doesn't get any salary until week 1 other than signing bonus, so would be somewhat surprised to see him voluntarily retire during camp. I'd be a little pissed if I were him if Buffalo were to cut him, certainly pissed enough that if Allen were to get hurt and they call me to come back, I'd then maybe think with my heart instead of head and tell them no!
  10. If I were a LB, I'd consider signing in Buffalo as that's one position that is still rather thin so would give an undrafted rookie a decent shot to make the roster.
  11. Good thing we have a tall QB. Can you imagine Flutie behind that line! They'd all be out with concussions from getting hit in the back of the helmet too many times with the football.
  12. One prediction I'll make, not really a Day 3 pick though. Starting tonight and Sunday, they Bills will probably sign a dozen or so undrafted rookies. Barring some late pick ups from cut players between now and September, any undrafted LB's they sign, may have the best chance to make the final roster as feel LB is currently the thinnest position on the roster.
  13. It's hard to look better than average when you have Metcalf and Brown playing next to you.
  14. So you'd rather have low round picks who based on pure numbers may not even make the team? I'm hoping they take their one remaining fifth and sixth to trade back into the bottom of 4th!
  15. I'm sure you know alot more than than Tony does!
  16. Posted 41 minutes ago?? so what's tonights lottery numbers?
  17. Well if they keep ten lineman to not be caught short in case of injuries, then they running the risk of being short in some other position. Take your pick, what position do you want ot take the chance on being short on? I don't recall seeing many teams carrying 10 lineman
  18. Most often teams keep 9 lineman at most, sometimes 8. If they draft a TE which I think they will, that leaves potentially 4 TE's if they keep that guy Fisher believe is his name who's a converted lineman. I could see them keeping him as a blocking TE but also emergency backup lineman. If they do that, then wouldn't be at all surprised they only keep 8 lineman. Admittedly him making the team as a blocking TE may be along shot, but even without him, no guarantees they keep 9 and certainly not 10. Think your cuts may need to go deeper!
  19. so if you draft two, that brings the total up to 15, plus good chance they sign some undrafted OL on Sunday. So which 6 or 7 do you plan to cut? And in doing so, while it may be good long term, it may weaken the line this year as now have two rookies that may not be ready to start, but now ended up cutting veteran depth to draft. I'd prefer the other route as mentioned, draft one maybe for depth and let him sit. One I'm good with two I feel is too many. The line last year was so weak leaves question marks about Dawkins and Teller, so would rather get one more season of seeing how they develop first. Assuming they improve to quality starter level and you likely will have Morse and Spain as two other starters long term, you might only need one more strong starter. And understand that assumes they extend Spain.
  20. first two on your list were supposed to be top 10 picks. A player who's projected to be top 10 and falls to the 2nd round, I'd be very leery of.
  21. One of the things I heard this afternoon was may be very few trades as there aren't many exceptional players to trade up for and QB's are going to fall. So far has lived up to that.
  22. I think they are hoping to get someone at 17 like Jones if he's still there.
  23. I think one of the 4th round picks will be an interior lineman instead o the 2nd WR. Also think there will be a RB taken between 3 and 5
  24. I do recall a similar thing happening one year, seem to recall it involving the Vikings, can't recall if they were the team late with the pick or they jumped ahead of the team that was late. It was in the middle of some round, not the last pick of a round. But can remember the clock expiring and the next team got right up to the table and submitted their pick. The team that was late, then picked right afterward, so basically were one pick late. Happening at the end of round would be different. May mean on Friday a race to the table, both teams bring in sprinters to deliver the pick. Which team is seated closer to the front of the room?? Give the guy a break!! Can understand the error, Cleveland picking first in every round seemed to have become a given!
  25. Assuming it fell as you described, likely this years 2nd and 3rd and next years 2nd
