  1. Much bigger game for the fans than the players. As was mentioned, few players ever played against Brady in NE. Plus NFC game, so not as much impact on home field and standings. Actually losing this game to an NFC team would help them!
  2. Sanders, have read he's actually better in the slot than as #2. And then make Davis #2. And sign one other FA who's a mid level WR and should be just as good. Allen will make players much better than they are. Give any WR enough time, he'll always get open. Allen has ability to extend plays to make that happen.
  3. Think having a QB like Allen helps as you can sign tier II WR and he'll make them look like a tier I. Sanders at 34 may be one of them, great WR 5 years ago, now having Allen throwing to him prolongs his career a bit. Even O-Line, really not the best in league, but Allen makes them look better than they are. These things allow the team to save a bit of money elsewhere. Admittedly there's probably 1/2 dozen (maybe even 10) other teams in same situation.
  4. Agree on Chargers, also Bengals as they both are set at QB. But Brown definitely is not one to spend big $$. They both have somewhat of a small window though as soon the rookie contracts will be ending. IMO any un-vaxxed players will get cut next year unless a real superstar as teams won't want to deal with the hassle. There may be more places like NYC or San Fran where players can't play in games if not vaxxed. This past year between cap constraints and limited time between start of NFL year and vaccine's coming out, not enough time for teams to do much of anything. By next year teams will have time and money to address.
  5. Last year, Davis played much more than they expected due to Brown being out hurt. This year with Sanders play, Davis just isn't needed that much. It also seems they also have been going with 4 WR less than lat year so again reduces his snap count.
  6. The team has more defensive lineman than they need to keep active. Wonder if the best strategy would be each week, make either Addison or Hughes inactive. (Ideally activate each of them for half the game, is there anything in the rules about that) My point is by the time you sit out 2 to 3 each week, it kind of forces either Hughes or Addison to take more snaps than what would be the ideal If one of those two were sitting out, would give someone else not named Hughes or Addison more snaps in their place and keep those two fresher when needed.
  7. I'll always argue the player taken is always at the top of the teams board or so they say afterwards.
  8. McVay did already have his QB, granted he's since got rid of him, but in exchange for another QB who supposedly better fits his scheme in an even trade. That certainly gave him a leg up early on.
  9. Not sure I'd call Miami very good, think it was extremely hot and humid even by Miami standards!
  10. Seems like in prior years I recall more times where a defender had a hand/arm/shoulder on him, but he twisted around and broke free. This year, don't recall any one even getting that close very often. Maybe that means he's getting smarter and moves out of the way before they can get even that close?
  11. It should on SOME local station, whichever one bids for it. Don't think on these Monday night games there's a contractual link between ESPN to ABC, maybe they have right of first refusal?? Oh wait you're in Knoxsville, you're out of luck, not primary market. That always use to piss me off back in the black out days. I lived in Rochester. I was close enough to have games blacked out, but not get any of the primary market benefits.
  12. Still need them for next year.
  13. We've kept at least 2, one game thought it was 3 DL players inactive every game, so can still easily have 8 good players to rotate barring a handful of injuries. I'd be OK with either Phillips, Addison, Zimmer or Obada being traded. Most likely thing would be for picks
  14. It's been awhile, but did Bruce miss much time for injury? Do recall him being out with the flu.
  15. 3 years?? Really? Wow guess I missed something! LOL Next thing I you'll tell me they made the season longer than 16 games or something crazy like that!
  16. Realistically the bigger story is the collapse of the Chiefs. The Bills were expected to be good and are, maybe even a little better defensively than imagined. But while it wasn't shocking that the Bills won the game, the shocking part and story so far for the season is how bad the Chiefs are and particularly on defense. Bills were expected to win/lead division and are. Right now Chiefs are the 11th best team in conference, no one predicted that would be the case. To an impartial fan it is the bigger league wide story.
  17. If Gettleman was fired, I wonder if he'd end up here in Buffalo in some capacity? He and Beane go back.
  18. Kind of funny a week ago, read how McKenzie's snaps were going down, some speculation that once Stevenson is healthy they'd activate him as the return guy and maybe let McKenzie go. Against KC McKenzie also appeared to have played alot of snaps too. As was stated, depending on situation, coverage, and opponent; things will change from week to week, drive to drive, and play to play
  19. Agree overall with comments WRT #8 Replacements Klein did play very well. Considering Tenn is run first team which plays well into Klein's strength,s I'd play him again this week so Milano gets an extra two weeks of rest with the bye coming up. One drop by Knox and people here will be calling for Knox to be fired! Not really an observation on this game specific, but seems the NFL is not doing their normal annual Pink Breast cancer October event? They do seem to be more just recognizing all cancers? Not that there's anything wrong with that, just a change made??
  20. I think making the conference championship game was part of the reason both Daboll and Frazier didn't get jobs last year too. But agree SB makes the odds go down even further. Seems team will wait through the round of 8, but after that want their guy. Also think Davis will want a more sexy hire than either of our two.
  21. Agree, no huge TE receiving threat this week and Klein is good against run. Gives an extra week rest with the bye.
  22. My main point was just to state, no way to predict where Rousseau would have gone if he hadn't opted out. Every year plays jump up in the draft and other drop.
  23. What amazes me the most is the emails were over a 7 year period, and nothing ever came out about this till now!
