Spotrac: 2022 AFC East offseason preview
Ed_Formerly_of_Roch replied to BillsMafi$'s topic in The Stadium Wall
I thought Boettger signed more than a one year deal this past off season -
Agree it never happens. Part of it may be defenders zone out in the moment and just catch it. But likely bigger reason is they was the glory of the Int and may factor into a bonus also. It this case it was so close to the end of game it didn't matter anyway.

Flying in to take my sons to their first Bills game on Sunday
Ed_Formerly_of_Roch replied to 947's topic in The Stadium Wall
Stay on the US side, then not issues with the boarder. Admittedly view is better and overall nicer on Canadian side, but wouldn't want to deal with the boarder right now. They may not let you back into US, you never know. -
There was a story think it may have been in the Athletic I read a couple weeks back that suggested this. Stated Darnold would likely be activated soon and once he was, a QB would be released likely Barkley and the Bills may want to sign in to PS and keep him away from everyone else like they did last year with Fromm in case of Covid

OK knew Henry was out, forgot about Jones and Brown also were out. So also not as impressive I thought Flutie's first year here, they won alot of games because of his play. But by the 2nd year, teams figured him out. Make him throw outside and keep a spy to prevent runs. Once that happened, he wasn't anything special and they won the 2nd year because of the defense. Recall to whenever there was any questions after the games in year 2 in particular about his play in the direction of not being great, he wouldn't throw someone else under the bus or wouldn't go after the writer who asked, but would instead try to answer the question with a question and deflect everything away from himself.

Anyone else sensing a Bates dilemma?
Ed_Formerly_of_Roch replied to BillnutinHouston's topic in The Stadium Wall
Don't disagree, but last year, I'm not sure he was the best option as overall the line and Feliciano played decent. This year Feliciano has been up and down and hurt. and certainly more down and hurt than good games. -
I think the key is in the 7 game win streak, they only beat 3 decent teams, Chargers, Browns and Titans, and Chargers and Browns are questionable if they are good. Titans win was impressive, but they aren't the same without Henry either. It's kind of like Miami's streak, they too haven't played anyone good.

Anyone else sensing a Bates dilemma?
Ed_Formerly_of_Roch replied to BillnutinHouston's topic in The Stadium Wall
Besides Bates, Morse, and Feliciano, who else plays center. Last month when they wouldn't play Bates, Felicinao was out, so the only backup possible was Bates unless there's someone else I'm missing. This week have two options so would agree, they could start Bates. -

The argument in the past was if something happened to Morse he's the only backup center, but if Feliciano is also active, he too could play center. So more options! -
If someone offered you $4 million for a job you were totally unqualified to do and knew you likely would suck at it, would you refuse the money?

Actually down here I wonder if they'd even throw it out or offer it as a 2 for 1 special!

Was kind of weird, I'd been seeing some of those commercials the last couple of weeks on Fox for the Christmas Day All Madden special. The first one or two times I saw it, my first thought was, did Madden just die as it looked like one of these tributes they do right after someone dies in sports. At least he made it through the last show on Christmas this year.

Sounds like you've never been to North Carolina (or probably half the south) LOL People bring dogs anywhere and everywhere, supermarkets, restaurants, Walmart, Costco, Lowes I keep waiting for a dog to take a dump in the frozen food aisle or something and maybe forces the store to throw out a couple thousand dollars worth of stuff. Will the rules change then? I'm a dog lover BTW, but do think it's getting out of hand.

AFC Playoff pic has 3 AFCE Teams in..
Ed_Formerly_of_Roch replied to PatsFanNH's topic in The Stadium Wall
Not sure it disputes that. Both the AFC West and north have 4 good teams where the East has three plus the Jets. We also played the AFC south which has two week teams in it while the West and North played eachother. We also played the NFC South which is one of the weaker divisions behind only the NFC North. Certainly not the strongest. -
If you look who they beat, the only decent team in the steak was the Ravens and they are about as consistent as the Bills have been this year, LOL so not super impressed there. They beat the Pats but that was the 23-4 version to start the season. NE also had a 7 game winning steak too. I will give them a decent shot at beating NE for a second time. This week at Tenn, not so sure about that one. Having said all that I do agree with you, if they win out Flores does have a shot a CoY, think Reich would get it over him though or the Bengals coach. Still not that impressed with Tua either. It's kind of what they were saying yesterday about NE, the same could be said for Miami: The game needs to play out exactly how they need it to for them to win

Whoa! 11 Jags head to covid list...just now
Ed_Formerly_of_Roch replied to phypon's topic in The Stadium Wall
These are the rules the NFL made with agreement from the NFLPA so if you want to play in the NFL you need to follow the rules. If not then HE is hurting the team. No different than if you want to drive a car, there are rules that say you can't drive 100MPH down the road, you need to follow the rules. -
If the following happens - NE is out of the playoffs
Ed_Formerly_of_Roch replied to psuscott16's topic in The Stadium Wall
There's so much that could happen and could end up with anywhere from a 2 way to a 6 way tie so who knows, but just to look at it in simple terms, if Miami wins out they are tied with NE, but beat them both times and have better division record so would be in ahead of them. That's just based on simple two way tie, understand if more teams involved, then gets much more complicated and things can change. Will say both NE and Indy have good conference records so would help them. -
Defense: let’s grade and comment your grade
Ed_Formerly_of_Roch replied to Italian Bills's topic in The Stadium Wall
Per Statista In the years from 2010 to 2019, the offenses of the teams in the NFL gained on average 234 passing yards and 113 rushing yards per game Add those together, that's 347 yards total, Pats had 288. It's like the old Balloon perspective; you push in in one spot, someplace else it will pop out. The Bills gave up more than average rushing +36, but less in the air -94, so overall good job. I gave them a B- -
Agree but most of the time it does get called IMO Don't recall the JC Jackson

This is what they are saying in New England Land
Ed_Formerly_of_Roch replied to DefenseWins's topic in The Stadium Wall
Money. NE could offer more and as others stated, they've won so long. Plus these guys egos will convince themselves that if they go there. Jones will become a star. Also only so many places to go around that they can go to. If you're a top WR, would you rather go to a place where you can clearly be the #1 or say to Buffalo where they will still have Diggs, and a QB that passes to many guys. Think some would want to be the clear #1 guy i.e. OBJ Recall reading that a number of NE top players are upcoming FA's so they will also need to address that first, so wonder how much money will be available for a top WR. -

Ed_Formerly_of_Roch replied to DefenseWins's topic in The Stadium Wall
Agree, yes they gave up 139 yards on the ground but only 139 in the air and alot of that was at the end when in the prevent (always thought the prevent is to prevent a game from being a blow out) for a total of 288. Even the last NE game, they gave up alot on the ground, but little in the air. In a 60 minute football game, a team is going to gain yards someplace, it's going to happen. So overall thought defense was good! -
There was a pass play late in the game, think they gained maybe 20 yards on it where believe it was the LT, Dawkins I'd assume drove his guy into the ground. Watching that live I was waiting for a flag for holding as typically that type of block is called. But no flag.
