  1. Posted this elsewhere but think Allen needs to learn to take something off the fastball. It may be OK in September an October, but with a wet, cold, hard ball coupled with a receivers wet cold hands just doesn't work well. There were a number of dripped passes too. But hard to say if Allen did take something off on some of those passes, would he have been able to get the ball to where it needed to get to?
  2. That's not going to happen mainly because you don't want to mess with Bass WRT holder. Unless they go as far as signing a punter, but keeping Haack just for holding. I will say this in the middle of the 3rd quarter, I went to Spotrac to see if the Jets punter would be a free agent at year end, 2 years remaining. But then watched the Jets punter in Q4 and he didn't look that much better than Haack. So maybe conditions were much worse than most realize. 3. That would be nice, a west coast team at 1:00 eastern time. My guess is they give the Chargers a bit of a break, may be the 4:30 game on Saturday.
  4. Hmmm only 5 WR active, but also all 5 RB's active. Guess they are planning to run today.
  5. Fantasy still going?? Or is this one of these weekly draft leagues?
  6. Yeah but the Bengals shouldn't have lost to the Bears and Jets and the Titans shouldn't have lost to Jets (hmmm Jets won only 4 games, but beat Titans and Bengals) and Texans so give them each two more wins too then. That puts Bengals back at 12 wind and Titans at 13
  7. I'm willing to bet anyone here the Raiders win this game!
  8. Agree on Harrison, Neil, and Wallace being resigned. But I do also think there's a good chance some of these will be resigned such as Boettger, Obada, Zimmer, and McKenzie. Plus if Trubisky signs elsewhere, they may still try to bring in someone of equal ability and contract. Also think there's a good chance Hughes comes back for one more year at a much reduced contract. In addition can see them signing one top level interior lineman and maybe also a lower level backup lineman, plus some LB depth. Bottom line doubt the haul of comp picks will be as anywhere near as big as you'd imagine.
  9. Can see this happening. The Bills drafted 3 DE early the past two seasons, so they are coming back. Think they'd like to resign Obada, could see a 5th DE signed in Hughes at a much lower contract number. McD likes the idea of a vet presence, considering the rest of their D-line are all pretty young. could see him coming back for one more season in this role before turning the keys over to likely Oliver.
  10. Yes the Giants are bad and he hasn't done much to help but he also was the GM when Carolina went to the SB. When I look him up one thing I found out that I wasn't aware of his first job in the NFL was in Buffalo, Polian hired him in 1986 worked there till 93 in the scouting department. While likely he was only one cog in the wheel, he was there for the formation of the Bills Super Bowl years. Just saying! Is a certain irony here. Maybe he's not cut out for the GM role, but he may still have some useful skills to add to a front office. Bills have already lost and likely could lose more of their front office so need to be replaced.
  11. If I'm the new GM I think I'd keep Judge with the agreement that I'll give him one year to fully evaluate him and things around him. If nothing else it gives the new GM kind of a free year. If things continue to be bad he can then say blame it on Judge not him. If he fires Judge the clock starts immediately on him. I wouldn't be shocked to see Gettleman in Buffalo in some less work/stress front office role, maybe he take a full year off first and is hired in 2023.
  12. Interesting you say that. I'm also an Athletic subscriber (better than a supporter) About 2 to 3 months ago I started getting this daily NY times "briefing", kind of a story of the day, each day something different and not necessarily a big news item. And maybe once a week, get an email offering me a full subscription for some introductory price. I was wondering how and why I was getting this, now wondering if in the early stages of the purchase discussion The Athletic gave the Times their list of subscribers and that's why I'm getting this daily email. Did any other Athletic subscribers start getting these NY Times daily emails?
  13. I think early on Rex's scheme worked, but then other teams figured it out, so Rex countered and that's where/when it became too complicated to work very well.
  14. Thinking if Pats, they are a big draw, so then either Saturday late or Sunday. If not NE then maybe Monday Playing Monday leaves least prep time for following week, so if every game goes chalk the 4 seed would play the #1 the following weekend. So from that standpoint, the 4/5 game in one of the conferences on Monday makes the best sense to me from a competitive standpoint as would be fairer than say having the 2 seed play on a short week. Looks like in the NFC the 4/5 game could be Dallas V Arizona rematch. Don't think they'd want to waste Dallas on a Monday. On the other hand ESPN may ask for a big name team like Dallas.
  15. The little bit that Mitch played this year didn't do anything to see other teams in a bidding war for his services, so agree, he could be back. But he may get a similar deal in a place like Miami or Cleveland where you have a clear #1 QB (assuming Tua and Mayfield return) but his status is much more shaky than Allen. The only way the backup plays in Buffalo, Green Bay, KC, or Tampa is due to injury or blow out. (probably leaving out a couple teams I'm forgetting about)
  16. Can some one tell me what the weather will be, then I will vote. Actually I did already vote and vote they are feared because of the potential of bad weather.
  17. Do wonder if the weather caused the off day??
  18. Think if Indy loses and Raiders win and Baltimore wins they are in. Then Balt Indy, and Chargers are all 9-8 and Baltimore beat both of them. Wild cards would then be NE, Raiders, Baltimore. But if Raiders lose, then Then Balt, Indy, and Raiders are all 9-8 and Baltimore is out based on Conf record.
  19. The one throw was into triple coverage and the other like the Panthers game, defender kind of baited him to make the throw
  20. Do wonder if the int's in today's game are the result of him reading too many of his press clippings and feels he can go out there and just throw it and it will be completed. He needs these occasional humbling moments to settle him down some.
  21. Think the truth is somewhere in between. Knox is playing very well and improving, put him in the top ten, but not near the best. Phillips has been good not just in the past month, think he's finally healthy. And Jackson has done more than just make the roster, he's holding his own, admittedly hasn't faced too many top WR groups. Likely the best groups he's facing is in practice every day.
  22. Yeah but people tend to be sympathetic to people with drug problems. Don't recall Gordon causing issues with team he was one, other than reliability. Brown has caused too many issues, most self created. Brown also will be 34 year old by the start of next season, Gordon is only 30 now and many times when he was given a 3rd or 4th chance he was even younger at the time so was more worth it for a team to take a chance and sign him. The odds too of Brown not doing something stupid to warrant another suspension between now and next season is likely low. Wouldn't be shocked if someone signs him, but doubt it will be anything involving big $$ and will be surprised if he lasts even half a season.
  23. I always did it based on uniform number
  24. Think they said the same thing about Belichick after he got fired in Cleveland.
  25. Partially Agree, but lets not stop there, also go for a win from Steelers and Rams too. But no lets go Chiefs. Bills aren't getting the #1 seed think I heard there's a 2% chance, Titans would need to lose two along with Chiefs and likely more losses than possibly can happen. Yes we beat the Chiefs, but other than a two way tie with them for the top spot, we'd lose most other tie breakers, i.e. Titans bet both us and Chiefs. On the other hand the 3 seed is doable as can see the teams in the North all beating each other up, and have a little bit of a shot at the 2 seed, but not likely as can't see the Titans losing two. Even then the Colts may still be ahead.
