I'm not one to complain too much about officials calls. While they are bad an inconsistent, think they balance out over the course of the year. Certainly in the eyes of the home town fans that's never true. But do agree that one should have been called as no worse than the one called on Oliver. Could be as the article mentioned, the official was looking downfield at where the pass went as that seemed to be his main focus.

Top FA Veteran CB's available
Ed_Formerly_of_Roch replied to BillsFanForever19's topic in The Stadium Wall
Certainly understand the ones in bold. As to salaries if they are 4+ year vet isn't their salary guaranteed anyway for the year? Or it just is no longer counted towards next years cap? Bottom line not missing much other than player requesting to be let go hoping that he'll be picked up by some playoff bound team. Likely the agent has had some back room conversations to know there's a good chance this happens. -
When Is Star supposed to be back?
Ed_Formerly_of_Roch replied to Moulds 808080's topic in The Stadium Wall
We don't Beasleys Vax status for certain. We know he's publicly and repeatedly ridiculed the NFL's policy and he was fined back in August for violations so likely wasn't vaxed back then as the same with McKenzie. But since then has done interviews not wearing a mask. Some were reported to be outside, but some post games ones may not have been. Haven't heard the Bills got fined like the Packers did. So how come? I'm not 100% convinced that he hasn't got vaxxed, but the whole personal freedom thing is just such a big deal to him that he will keep up the crusade. I'm sure the everyone in the building including McD knows all the players vax status, but publicly can't state anything. That doesn't mean he can't still be frustrated. He also may come across as frustrated as I'm sure he's tired of being asked the same questions about it every day or the fact that while he knows their status, he nor anyone else knows when they will be cleared to play. On a related subject, if Star, Brown, and Mongo are all back for the NE game, who do we think will likely be be cut from the 53? I'm guessing Douglas and one of the two DT just called up. Likely will bring up another CB to replace White so still need to make one more roster move then. Is Hart on the 53?? -
Didn't realize people drank so much on Black Friday! Will say him getting regular game and practice action should help him improve some. That and scheming, may be OK.

Just curious, is there something to be gained by the team dumping these guys? Wondering why would they dump them then? Could see dropping them i nthe off season ,but why the last week of regular season? -
Does CB Now Become a Necessity Early in 2022 Draft
Ed_Formerly_of_Roch replied to thronethinker's topic in The Stadium Wall
Considering this happened very late Nov, IMO that's optimistic . He may be back week 1 but maybe at about 75%. Think it would need to go extremely well to be ready to go week 1 without seeing any drop off. -
Does CB Now Become a Necessity Early in 2022 Draft
Ed_Formerly_of_Roch replied to thronethinker's topic in The Stadium Wall
Completely agree with 1st two CB and guard. Actually would tweak it slightly to say guard/center. To me TE is a position that takes a couple years to develop unless it was a top 5 overall pick like Pitts. The Bills need TE help in 2022 and are in an overall win now mode so would rather see them pick up a FA vet FA TE Also would sign a top FA guard too. Like was stated last year pre-draft, the Bills don't really have roster spots for 5 or 6 rookies. Interesting for every team in the league for whomever the team selects they always say was the best player available. IMO the player they pick might be one of the top 5 to top 10 BPA, but the guy they select better fits their own needs. Nothing wrong with doing that either, but do find it comical how they always say: "He was at the top of our board". -
Agree, he's certainly not at the level of White in playing ability, but that doesn't change the recovery time. Phillips also seems to be playing this year better than last, even last year, played better in December than he was in September. So if it weren't related to the recovery, how come? IF it's a torn ACL expecting him to be back at peak or even close to peak form in September is very optimistic. Thought I recall him even commenting early last year he didn't feel right yet?
-
Look at Harry, he was back the September after, but not very effective all year and he tore his in October. Usually they say it's a full year to get back to where you were prior. If it's MCL, then may be faster?? I think this may mean we draft a CB in round 1. White may be a strong #2 CB next season, but would be nervous with his as the #1. By 2023, should be OK IMO.

Matt Breida transforms our offense.
Ed_Formerly_of_Roch replied to FireChans's topic in The Stadium Wall
There was a run in 2nd half by Singletary to outside, thought if that were Breida running he may have got around the edge. -
Knox was drafted because he had all the physical skills needed, but was very un-polished. In college he had a total of 39 catches for 605 yards and 0 TD's. That Ole Miss team relied on its 1st round WR's to do the all the work, scheme wasn't set up for him. Pretty sure he left after his junior season, likely if he had stayed another season, with those guys gone, he would have been showcased much more..

Potential for Spenser Brown move? (to LT?)
Ed_Formerly_of_Roch replied to Toledo Bill's topic in The Stadium Wall
Playing Brown improved the play overall of the line, but it was a low bar to start with. Everything written that I've read said he played well for a brand new rookie, but wasn't great either. It also could slow his overall development down switching positions. I think that's one of the issues with Ford, rookie training camp played guard the entire time, then switch to tackle for the regular season, then back to guard year 2. Do agree wit the comments that Dawkins hasn't recovered from Covid fully, not sure if it's strength or stamina. If Stamina, would rather see them bring Doyle in for some plays to give him a rest. -
Last season Singletary struggled to some degree, team and fans was expecting more from him based off his rookie year. This past off season he commented a couple times how he spent this past off season working harder, training differently, didn't take it for granted as much sounded like. Wonder if Moss is suffering from the same issue this year (sophomore slump) as Singletary did last year?
