While none of us want it to be a regular thing in 4 plus years of play that is somewhat of a regular thing for him. Regular to the point it resurfaces from time to time. He's got better, has more good spells in between than bad. Yes is impatience, but to the point whenever things go bad he tends to do to much and that is becoming a regular thing. Maybe the issue to is last season he got away with it most of the year so has got a bit over confident in that he can make that throw all the time. Most big arm QB's do the same so Allen certainly isn't unique there, but with a team as one sided as the Bills are makes it tougher. Even Aaron Rodgers will still had the ball off at a higher rate with success as they have a good running game.

When Is Star supposed to be back?
Ed_Formerly_of_Roch replied to Moulds 808080's topic in The Stadium Wall
Can't believe no one was at the airport with binoculars watching to see if Star boarded the plane. I assume they flew down today, though suppose with a night game could leave first thing Thursday. -

It's an NBC game -
Isn't he from or grew up there at least in Pa near Philly I thought? Maybe the OP needs a map. Kind of funny I live in the Carolinas, when anyone area talks about USC it's University of South Carolina.

I'd take the under. I think Dawkins and Brown return. Plus one of the three of Morse, Mongo, and Williams. Likely Williams comes back as he's the biggest cap hit. Morse and Mongo total about $5 mil between them I'd then sign a top FA guard and draft a Center/Guard. That may be the one reason to keep Mongo instead as if they draft a guard, could move Mongo to center or could stay at guard. He actually played pretty well their last year for Morse.

Marquez Stevenson designated IR-Return

Though the way the Bills defense played that game was worried that with the TD that early 2:00 left, Tenn would have enough time to still score, like the Bills almost did at the end. -
Bills Carolina game set for SUNDAY Dec 19th
Ed_Formerly_of_Roch replied to Ed_Formerly_of_Roch's topic in The Stadium Wall
Market size likely does play into it though wonder if it's the only game does it matter? In fairness NE, Indy, Cleveland, and Vegas have all been viewed as potential playoff teams as have the Bills, but Carolina hasn't exactly been viewed that way. Admittedly Carolina is about as close to getting in as any of these other teams purely based on standings. By Dec 19th, much can change either way. -
The line was a big issue in Jax game, agree and also agree they played well this week. But article was looking at stats all season, wasn't as bad as many here think and point was really isn't the reason the team is playing the way they are. Biggest issues were accuracy, penalties and losing all the close games.

Yes I'm sure your eyes are much better than any stats. You know what you see! Granted one exceptional good or bad game can change things, but less likely to have a huge impact after playing 11 games. As far as line play goes here's more specifics: But overall, pass protection has not been a major problem. The Bills are allowing pressure at a lower rate (33.3 percent) than they did last year (36.5 percent). They are top-10 in ESPN’s pass block win rate metric, which measures how often protection holds up for at least 2.5 seconds. Allen is taking sacks at a lower rate (3.8 percent) than he did last year (4.3 percent). And his EPA on sacks is better this year than it was last year. I'd say that covers it pretty good compared to last year. So you're correct what do these stat nerds know compared to a fanatic posting on a message board for a hobby like yourself! I'm sure it's hard for you to find time to post with you're job as a professional football coach. And yes the article did state as did I that penalties were an issue

Don't think we did fine without Star last year, run defense was a big issue. Agree on Oline same 7 guys last year back this year and big drop off, why, no idea. Agree on Mongo, my point though is we're OK with one lineman out, first man in not much of any drop off, but once two were out, really hurt in Jax game. Admittedly Ford played pretty well this past week less the one penalty, even there another thread stated penalty could have been called on Williams too as both jumped.

Pretty much everything in the article was based off stats and you know what they say; Figures don't lie, but..... It wasn't so much the number of Ints, more a case of when they happen. He gave an example, not that this applied to Allen but 4th and 20, QB throws a 50 yard pass that's intercepted. He referred to that as "Punt by Arm" Those don't hurt very much, but according to the numbers Allens often hurt. Wow is amazing went from 3rd to 16th in accuracy, but not that surprising as many of his passes this Sunday were all off.

Am actually an hour away from Philly, but will watch the game by other means, not a big issue, but is annoying to me. -
When Is Star supposed to be back?
Ed_Formerly_of_Roch replied to Moulds 808080's topic in The Stadium Wall
You sure about that?? I read an article the other day that appeared to state the same, but then when I read it back like three times noticed there was an "if" or something in a convoluted backwards sentence structure that really said: "IF actually is symptomatic". So unless there was more written someplace I attributed that conclusion to poor grammar. -
Game will not be flexed to Saturday Saturday games will be NE Indy and Vegas Cleveland. Makes me made as I live in NC so the one game this year that guaranteed to be on local TV would be this one, except I'm going to be out of town in Philly area, and now Eagles are playing game at same time also on Fox. So no local TV for me. Guess I'll need to travel up to Buffalo again.

Marquez Stevenson designated IR-Return

McKenzie is top 5 in league in KO return yards. Be careful what you wish for. Just saying. -
Kind of like Norv Turner. Must be something about coaching Dallas. Maybe JJ pays other teams under the table to hire these guys so he can claim the offsets! LOL

A Few Thoughts about the Colts game, in no particular order
Ed_Formerly_of_Roch replied to Virgil's topic in The Stadium Wall
My Thoughts: 2 Penalties There's another entire thread titled something to the effect of "D line rotation is hurting us" I don't think that is really true, but do wonder if the rotation does lead to some of these rough the passer and personal foul calls. It may be that some like an Obada aren't getting that many snaps so when he's in there goes a little bit harder to both show how good he is and also as an audition for other teams to see on tape as he is an upcoming FA I believe. And in doing so they are going too far and taking penalties. If playing more snaps get a better feel for the game in when to go all out and when to hold up. 3 Ford Agree, he looked OK. If you add up all the games Ford has played at guard for the Bills it adds up to about 10 games. Hard to judge someone after 10 games. 6 Special Teams Agree on McKenzie, will also add seems he's kind of become hell bent on taking every kick back and has been stopped short of 25 on a number of them too. On the other hand thought he is 5th in the league in KO return average if only counting players with more than 15 returns. Read some posts about missing Andre Roberts, he is on his 2nd team this year. 9 Dome Watching the game I was also thinking that a dome might not be the worst idea LOL Allen could/should be around for 10 plus seasons, plus league is becoming more of a passing league so even 20 years from now having a dome for a passing offense isn't the worst thing. You can build a team to play in bad weather, but that won't help you when weather is beautiful in Sept and October or the road games in LA. Having a strong passing offense down the road with a dome would likely be fine in at least 14 of the 18 games played. Saw a response above listing a much longer list of champion teams that played outside vs inside. Pats, Chiefs, Packers and Pitt are legit bad weather locations, however do seem to recall Green Bay losing two NFC championship games at home with great QB play on the team Most of Steelers championships were in a different non passing era and Chiefs won one time. Adding Bucs, 49ers, and Titans to list is kind of funny. I'd agree if Bills played in Tampa, no need for a dome. Am not that concerned about dome or open air for one or two games in January that won't even happen every year under the best of plans. More concerned with every year the games played in November and December. -
Let me clear it up for you. After a loss any articles written that rip the bills or specific players are correct. If they say a certain thing wasn't the issue, then they are clueless. If we win it's the opposite. Having said that, Vernon Butler does seem to be a recurring message across multiple media outlets that re-watched the video. Fina is a little rough though to state lack of effort as opposed could be just lack of talent. Indy's line is one of the biggest and strongest. Agree, Oliver has been praised most of the season for good play. From what I read about Oliver in this game sounded like they used some of his aggressiveness against him, they'd let him penetrate only to then go behind him. Was that was he was supposed to be doing and someone else then suppose to fill in or more mental mistakes. He's kind of been doing that all season so maybe that is what he's being told to do?? As for Ford, most articles I've read all said Ford actually played pretty well minus the false start and some I read said it could have been called on Williams instead as they both jumped.

Again the offense is just off....

True, but still didn't help. Statistically does count, recall at the end of the game seeing the stat posted Points off Turnovers 24-0
