Whoa! 11 Jags head to covid list...just now
Ed_Formerly_of_Roch replied to phypon's topic in The Stadium Wall
These are the rules the NFL made with agreement from the NFLPA so if you want to play in the NFL you need to follow the rules. If not then HE is hurting the team. No different than if you want to drive a car, there are rules that say you can't drive 100MPH down the road, you need to follow the rules. -
If the following happens - NE is out of the playoffs
Ed_Formerly_of_Roch replied to psuscott16's topic in The Stadium Wall
There's so much that could happen and could end up with anywhere from a 2 way to a 6 way tie so who knows, but just to look at it in simple terms, if Miami wins out they are tied with NE, but beat them both times and have better division record so would be in ahead of them. That's just based on simple two way tie, understand if more teams involved, then gets much more complicated and things can change. Will say both NE and Indy have good conference records so would help them. -
Defense: let’s grade and comment your grade
Ed_Formerly_of_Roch replied to Italian Bills's topic in The Stadium Wall
Per Statista In the years from 2010 to 2019, the offenses of the teams in the NFL gained on average 234 passing yards and 113 rushing yards per game Add those together, that's 347 yards total, Pats had 288. It's like the old Balloon perspective; you push in in one spot, someplace else it will pop out. The Bills gave up more than average rushing +36, but less in the air -94, so overall good job. I gave them a B- -
Agree but most of the time it does get called IMO Don't recall the JC Jackson

This is what they are saying in New England Land
Ed_Formerly_of_Roch replied to DefenseWins's topic in The Stadium Wall
Money. NE could offer more and as others stated, they've won so long. Plus these guys egos will convince themselves that if they go there. Jones will become a star. Also only so many places to go around that they can go to. If you're a top WR, would you rather go to a place where you can clearly be the #1 or say to Buffalo where they will still have Diggs, and a QB that passes to many guys. Think some would want to be the clear #1 guy i.e. OBJ Recall reading that a number of NE top players are upcoming FA's so they will also need to address that first, so wonder how much money will be available for a top WR. -

Agree, yes they gave up 139 yards on the ground but only 139 in the air and alot of that was at the end when in the prevent (always thought the prevent is to prevent a game from being a blow out) for a total of 288. Even the last NE game, they gave up alot on the ground, but little in the air. In a 60 minute football game, a team is going to gain yards someplace, it's going to happen. So overall thought defense was good! -
There was a pass play late in the game, think they gained maybe 20 yards on it where believe it was the LT, Dawkins I'd assume drove his guy into the ground. Watching that live I was waiting for a flag for holding as typically that type of block is called. But no flag.

The Bills played like Sybil all season. Today they played the way many expected them to play based on the opinions in September. It shows they are still a good and a talented team to be worried about playing. Maybe they've really figured things out this time, we shall see. If so, they could win it all as easily as any team in the league. That's probably the message the talking heads will give. They played the way they were expected to play and when they do, they are a top team!

Think a lineman can get away with it a little more as not as much running. But he'll be lucky if he can play next season at all at a high NFL level. I tore mine about 25 years ago, about 3 months after Dan Marino did his. Recalled how Marino described it "thought someone kicked him in the back of the ankle" As soon as I did mine based on Marino's description I stated that's what happened and the people I was with nuts, "you just sprained and ankle they said". But was torn. 4 months later have a picture of me walking down the Mt Van Hovenberg bobsled run using one crutch for extra support.

This was our best performance by offensive line
Ed_Formerly_of_Roch replied to Niagara Dude's topic in The Stadium Wall
Even the first two series or so when Ike was still in the game and Brown was playing LT and Dawkins was on the bench, they looked pretty damm good! -
Money yes, millions for one game of catching passes thrown to him that he's paid to catch. This ain't MLB It may get him resigned in Buffalo IF he wants. He may be to pissed to sign here.

That's right, first one was Hughes. He's had a history of these dumb plays too. I don't know wit hall the momentum and a player touching your back, it doesn't take much to go down in that situation.

I'm not complaining about the refs at all today after the Bills didn't get called for a roughing call when Milano hit Jones after he clearly was OB. Yes he tried to hold him up, but he still initiated contact after he was OB. If there was no contact, there'd be no argument about how Jones went down. Then when they did call, was it Milano again on the roughing call, then two more flags (hats) thrown, I was assuming it was going to be roughing on Milano, then an extra personal foul on each team but just one on NE called. And this was NE too. So lets not complain about officials today!

That may be a bit of an over-reaction

Dion Dawkins activated from Covid list
Ed_Formerly_of_Roch replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall
How long has he been out. Based on change in rules, he could have been back since early in the week, but wasn't. so that tells me he likely wasn't symptom free. Injured players will start to at least practice with team before being cleared to play. If on the Covid list, that's not possible. So his only option to stay in game shape was working out at home. Not exactly the same. Add in that he hasn't played like he's been 100% even when he was back. -
Bills sign punter Jamie Gillan to PS
Ed_Formerly_of_Roch replied to BillsMafi$'s topic in The Stadium Wall
Can't understand why it's harder to track. However do think the 2nd part of not getting to see them in practice is the key here. I've posted before, think Bojo is gone because of his contract demands and holding issues. Haack has been great on holds, punting so-so, hasn't lived up to the expectations. Having said that, wouldn't be shocked to see the Bills use around a 6th rounder on a punter. -
Bills Covid List: Players and coaches
Ed_Formerly_of_Roch replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall
Recall after the Aaron Rodgers saga him bringing up that once he was positive, he'll no longer be tested for the next three months. He brought this up in the context of "See I told you the NFL rules are stupid" -

OK so he must be vaxxed. Probably a smart move for unsigned players to be vaxxed as better chance a team signs them -
