  1. Not disputing that, just pointing out it was a great throw/play and Hyde made an even better play to stop it.
  2. First big injury of the year just a few days in training camp and will be a huge blow to the Bucs SB aspirations if he's lost for the year. A lot of pundits felt this going to end up being the steal of the century for the chiefs but obviously a reason why he went undrafted and his NFL career may be very short lived, assuming he ever even plays a down in the league.
  3. I hate the cowboys as much as the next fan, but those 90's teams were truly special and why the Bills didn't stand a chance against them in the SB's. Smith was a big part of that and it wasn't just because the oline was stellar a good chunk his time there.
  4. Other than the idea of a possible SB preview (or what many think would have somehow been last year's SB if not for the Chiefs debacle) this game is being overhyped and truly meaningless in the grand scheme of things. If the Bills win great, but if they lose it's not even a conference loss. As for being favored by 1 point at present, I can't imagine the Rams won't be at least 2 or 3 point favorites come opening day as they are the defending champs playing at home.
  5. CA and NY are probably the two highest taxed states in the country, CA for sure the highest. Regarding the LA market though, obviously a lot of guy are willing to look past that to live and play in southern california.
  6. That was honestly a great throw and probably would been a TD 9 out of 10 times, but Hyde made a spectacular play and in the process completely changed the momentum of game.
  7. I still see Beasely ending up in Green Bay for some reason and seems like he'd be a great fit for Rogers.
  8. I'd be fine with it but I think with a new offense under Dorsey and what happened last year out of the gate against the Steelers it probably doesn't make sense at this point especially when guys like Brady are still out there slinging it in meaningless preseason games after all these years.
  9. If he's healthy definitely gives the Bucs another weapon and looks like he's essentially replacing Antonio Brown's role in Tampa. Going to see a lot of other vets who are chasing a ring sign with contenders soon like our old friend and rapper Beasely.
  10. They are definitely going to be a factor unless Tua completely implodes early in the season. I have a feeling they may finally end the Bills current winning streak against them come week 3 too.
  11. I honestly don't get the Lance hype other than the idea he could be the next JA17 (which seems to be a popular theme these days). Just not sure what in what world you move on so quickly from a QB that took you to a SB and NFCCG in 2 of the 3 years he was healthy there and if Lance struggles it's a precarious position if you start to lose the veterans in the lockerroom who were behind Jimmy G.
  12. They were 9-3 and in sole possession of 1st place in the AFCE and the #1 overall seed in mid december. At that same point the Bills were 7-6 and losers of 5 of 8 games. Obviously a snapshot in time but many experts pegged the Pats as the AFC SB team at said point and there's nothing delusional about this. They can certainly be in the same picture this year too especially if Jones takes a big step as projected.
  13. I'll never understand the obsession with arm strength like it's the only thing that matters for a QB. Sure the rockets like Allen/Mahomes/Rogers/etc are great but some of the greatest QB's in NFL history also had 'questionable' arm strength including Jone's HOF predecessor and GOAT.
  14. I think it's very telling that they had to add this whole 'study time' thing to his contract. Pretty much a direct indictment on his work ethic and inability to perform consistently against good defenses. Either way good for him, won't be the last huge deal we see handed out to a QB that is debatable regarding how good he really is.
  15. Even if Edmunds were to 'break out' I still can't see this team paying a LB big money extension given the salary cap situation they are up against in the next few years. You can't keep everyone and at some point you have to be willing to move on and let certain players want. But if McD is serious about all this than who really knows, just think it would be a big mistake given Edmunds body of work and proven failure in big games.
  16. They actually were good enough last year up until the Colts game when both Jones and the defense seemed to hit a proverbial wall and fall off the rest of the year. Trademark of Belichik's teams has always been defense especially in Brady's early years when they won their first 3 SB's from 2001 - 2004, they showed that again last year IMO for most of the season before aforementioned decline.
  17. As long as Belichik is around there should be legitimate concern regarding the Patriots. I don't think Mac Jones is quite Tom Brady and they are going to go on another 20 year run, but the information regarding his off season improvement has been consistent and do expect to see improvement on the field and I don't think this team is going to underestimate the Pats (and rest of division) like some of the fans are.
  18. Not sure how that's going to be possible considering Boettger probably won't even physically be able to play this season.
  19. Don't this is something to worry about but I'd be lying if I still didn't have mild concerns about the oline as a whole (in addition to DB) .
  20. This is true, while you can question a lot of draft picks through years in NE that Belichik has had a direct hand in. When it comes to QB they've found a lot of quality players going back to the most famous one in Brady being a 6th rounder. Still extremely unlikely that lighting would strike twice in terms of finding another Brady type player in Jones, but he doesn't need to be Brady for them to be a serious contender.
  21. Jones had a great rookie season and didn't play like a typical rookie for the most part. I think the issue most people see with him is the perception he's already at his ceiling, or has limited room to grow. If that's true that the Pats probably aren't going to improve much this year unless they field a truly dominant defense that can sustain success over the course of the whole season and beyond. But if Jones does have a high ceiling left to attain then I could definitely see him in the MVP mix and the Pats unfortunately looking like the teams from years past that dominated the division. Big difference for the Bills is they finally have their own franchise QB to not allow the Pats to run away with the division in that scenario.
  22. I think the bills probably lose the opener and still think it's an odd matchup for the defending SB champ who almost always faces a conference foe in their opener so this is a big departure from that. Yes there will likely be a large contingent of Bills mafia on hand but they aren't going to outnumber Rams fans who will be amped up in hopes their team launches a successful repeat campaign.
  23. The Browns know that Watson will be sitting this year, the question is how long? So with the roster they have assembled they are going to have to do whatever it takes to stay afloat until Watson is able to play or make 2022 look respectable assuming he's suspended the whole season.
  24. The only problem is that if JA17 continues his ascent, is he going to be content with the current contract especially if he keeps seeing other QB's that are perceived as not quite as good getting more money?? Is he going to be willing to do Brady type of discounts/team friendly extensions to stay in the championship picture most years? Just some food for thought for those doing victory laps and patting Beane on the back at present...
  25. This ^^^^^ Directv is far from perfect like any dish or cable provider, but they have always been more than fair with loyal long time suscribers. There will be no leverage to negotiate any discount with a streaming service that only charges a nominal monthly fee to begin with that anybody can cancel when they want without a contract. Here's hoping that DTV can somehow retain sunday ticket at the 11th hour.
