  1. This is an interesting move considering how well Ford has performed in Camp/preseason and all the hype about Kromer being the change that was needed to get him to finally perform up to his potential. With that said, it proves that camp/preseason doesn't mean much which is why I also expect more similar moves with guys like Moss and/or Epenesa being dangled as trade bait if similar draft picks are being offered in return.
  2. From the 'not so shocking news' feed, it will be interesting to see what Mayfield does in Carolina with some decent talent to work with especially if mccaffery stays healthy and on the field. But given the Browns current situation there was no way they could keep Mayfield on the roster knowing they traded and paid a fortune for his replacement even though he's not seeing the field anytime soon. Will be very surprised if the Panthers don't win the opening game convincingly given the revenge factor alone with Mayfield against his former team.
  3. I think with Blackshear he looks like a legit NFL RB unlike a guy like Christian Wade. But there have been many RB's like him that have come through Buffalo and other teams over the years that were preseason stars only to get cut and never be heard from again. Either way he's not making this team and will be destined for the practice squad unless another team wants him.
  4. No doubt about that but will see how much it matters given the ridiculous amount high end QB/WR matchups we face in the first 8 weeks. Have a feeling this secondary is going to struggle big time and we might find ourselves in a lot of shoot outs early.
  5. Hot garbage but at the end of the day the NFL wants to move on and knows that if they would have given a season long + ban that Watson would have appealed and been able to play and be on the field week one which they didn't want at all costs. Karma will eventually come around for Watson and the Browns and they are pretty much guaranteed to go no where this year anyway and will probably be sitting with 3 or 4 wins if they are lucky by the time Watson comes back.
  6. Your just making up stuff and you know it. After the Bucs game on Dec 12 the Pats were 2 full games ahead of the bills in the AFCE standings. Obviously we know how the season ultimately played but it could have been much different and the Bills were very fortunate to play a very soft closing schedule. Also nobody is fearmongering, just pointing out that other teams have talent and expectations too and aren't going to bow down to the Bills along the way which was part of the problem last year with this team's inconsistency.
  7. Still waiting for something official, but if this is true it's still very disappointing and sends the wrong message. But as for the Browns, there's very little chance they will realistically sbe in the playoff picture by then with Brissett as their starter and Watson will have not played in nearly 2 years by the time he's back so it's definitely a wasted season for them with some of the quality talent they have on that roster.
  8. People truly have short memories and seem to forget this team was a mere 11-6 last year and at one point trailing the Pats by 2 full games in the division late in the season. And no matter which way it's spinned their season ended in the divisional round last year. And while I agree that the Bills are the prohibitive favorites and team to beat in the division entering the season, that doesn't mean they are guaranteed to do that especially with how loaded the Dolphins roster is (which is still think is better than Buffalo in a lot of areas minus QB of course), and a feisty patriots team with a good young QB and 6 time WC head coach lurking on the sidelines.
  9. I'm a big McD critic, but this is the right move and this team needs to be ready given how difficult the first half of the schedule is. KC started Mahomes last week and Brady has always played in most preseason games as well. Can't afford to come out sloppy, overconfident and not ready like we did against the mediocre steelers team last year. Defending champs on the road and favorites to possibly repeat is a whole other animal.
  10. It's still way too early to draw conclusions, but this is consistent with all the reports coming out of camp that Benford looks like a real find and Elam has struggled consistently and doesn't appear to be close to being ready to start. Hopefully it all works out but still think that the Bills panicked when they traded up to get Elam because KC took the guy they wanted (McDuffie who BTW has looked like a stud so far in camp/preseason for them).
  11. It's not happening especially with JA's new contract kicking in next year. Same reason why Chiefs had to let honey badger walk and they traded Hill to the Dolphins. Poyer is a good player and will be missed but he's on the wrong side of 30 and definitely nowhere close to the caliber of safety James is.
  12. I still think Lawson has an uphill battle making this roster unless Epenesa is traded or the coaching staff truly believes they need 5 DE's on the roster because I just don't see them cutting a 2nd round pick entering year 3 no matter how bad he looks.
  13. They were the top team in the AFC last year despite being ravaged by injuries before Jackson got hurt. I think a healthy Ravens team easily wins the AFCN which is saying a lot considering how good I feel the Bengals also are going to be this year.
  14. I really think this team should move Moss ASAP why he may have some value. Because I truly loathe the idea of 'running back by committee' yet again this year when I feel that Singletary should be locked in as RB1 and Cook spelling him/being the WR option out of the backfield. Keeping Moss here ruins that plan and wastes valuable carries.
  15. I'm leaning that direction too although still think Mahomes is probably going to have his best season of his career and be the MVP frontrunner this year.
  16. I haven't decided anything yet, and quite frankly I can easily see this team failing to come close to expectations because of one main elephant in the room named Sean McDermott. What I'm referencing is the collective expectations of most fans on this forum, social media, etc talking superbowl or bust. But again, regardless of what this team does or doesn't do has nothing to do with the aspirations of 31 other NFL teams including our 3 division rivals, two of which should be pretty solid worst case.
  17. IMO Raiders are probably going to be much better than people expect which is hard to say about a WC team from the previous season. Everyone talking about Chargers and Broncos taking down Chiefs but Raiders could be one of those grimy teams that sneaks up everyone. Jones/Crosby easily the best DE combo in the league and Adams will put that offense over the top. Still think Carr is much better than people give him credit for too and is the best QB McDaniels has worked with not named Tom Brady.
  18. The dolphins and pats don't need their QB's to be superstars to be contenders and/or threaten the Bills for the AFCE crown. It's just weird seeing a fan base who went through 17 years of disappointment and failure look down on other teams that have a lot more success overall and bills mafia is setting themselves up for a major humbling if things don't go as planned...which is pretty much SB victory or bust at this point.
  19. Herbert's the real deal and has the same amount of head to head wins against the chiefs and Mahomes that Allen does. I'm not necessarily buying their SB hype because they haven't even been to the playoffs yet with Herbert but all the talent is there (on paper) for them to be among the league's elite teams. Also I would be very surprised if the Bengals miss the playoffs unless they get hit with serious injuries like the Ravens did last year. Speaking of the Ravens too me they are a team everyone is sleeping on and I see them among the leagues elite teams this year if they are relatively healthy again.
  20. I don't put much stock in one or two bad practices vs. the totality of the entire offseason in which there's been a lot of hype over how both Tua/Jones have looked and both of them also sat in their first preseason games as well which tells me the respective coaching staffs didn't feel they needed the reps and/or wanted to risk injury to them. Also if a few bad practices mattered, the same rule would apply to JA17 and other established top QB's in this league.
  21. I guess but one game isn't really enough of a sample size to truly know if he's an upgrade yet. But even if it's even between him and Hauck he's obviously getting the nod for the job.
  22. I understand why teams want to be conservative during the preseason and not risk injury, but by the same token you also risk injuries with guys who have had had little to no contact during camp/preseason once the live bullets start flying. I also think getting off to a slow start and losing to a physical team like the Steelers in the opener last year also had a lot to do with this team being overconfident and not ready because most of the key players didn't get many preseason snaps. Therefore I'm in the camp that thinks we should get the starters some action for at least a quarter or so in one of the next few games. KC had no problem trotting out Mahomes and a lot of their key guys last week and that's the team we are ultimately still gunning for.
  23. Teams know the 49ers are likely going to cut him soon so no point in wasting a draft pick right now unless they are forced to because of an injury issue. Also still think the 49ers are taking a big risk putting all their eggs in lance's basket in favor of a guy who took their team to a SB and nearly won it just a few years ago. In fact they were a few minutes away from getting to another SB last year as well with him.
  24. Wilson looks like one of those unlucky guys with injuries so far in his career and will be surprised if he makes it through the upcoming season whenever he's ready to play.
  25. Seems like this punt god stuff is already getting old. There's nothing this kid is doing that we didn't see already with a guy like Bojo who everyone raved about after the Pats tried hiding him and we brought him here. Still think Hauck has a better chance to make the team over him than most probably expect.
