  1. They still lost though. Hughes may have made a rare impact play but I'm confident he won't do much over the course of the rest of the year there unless it's just garbage time stuff against other teams backups when they are down 3+ scores. But the OJ Howard thing is a bit puzzling because he certainly did not look like a guy who has a lost a step which is what some speculating was the main reason the Bills moved on and ate his contract. They cut him because of the fascination with useless players like Sweeney who only really contribute on ST and still a big problem with this regime in terms of their overall roster building methodology. Bottom line I think not keeping Howard will prove to be a big mistake later.
  2. He really hasn't had to yet, if anything he's upgraded certain positions which is a great thing. But what I'm getting at is what's he going to do next year when Allen's contract kicks in like Mahomes did recently. How are guys like Poyer going to be replaced because we all know this is his last year here. Pretty sure Edmunds will walk too even though I don't think that will be a big loss.
  3. My hope is that the Rams actually are a really good team and the Cardinals not so much, because if it's reverse it's a somewhat ominous sign IMO in terms of the Bills long term outlook for this season if the Rams are trash and Cardinals actually good. Regardless once again an early season showdown between Chiefs/Bills will be must see football.
  4. I would still put Chiefs #1 over the Bills for now. They just look insanely good on both sides of the ball which says a lot in light of what the Bills did respectively.
  5. Obviously one game doesn't make a career and to his credit he has had a lot of success as an assistant especially in Jax under Marrone when a Blake Bortles led Jaguars team was within a few minutes of a SB if not blowing a lead against the patriots in Foxboro. Also think he was a key part of the Packers success the last few years with Rogers being back to back MVP. Time will tell what happens in Denver but I do agree he could be one and done there if they don't make the playoffs because that is the minimum expectation there after going out and getting Russ Wilson.
  6. Last time I checked the Pats were able to beat the Bills (in Buffalo) with their QB throwing 3 passes. So to say Miami can't do the same with their QB playing efficient football is flat out wrong. I honestly could care less about the Dolphins but to overlook them would be foolish because they looked the part after one week with Tua not doing much special quite frankly. If he plays even marginally better it will be a big problem IMO.
  7. Chiefs may have the best oline in the NFL which to me is going to be the difference against them this year despite our new look dline. How the Bills (and every other team) missed out on a guy like Creed Humphrey is mind boggling. As far as Beane having the same success I still disagree for 2 main reasons: 1) No SB appearances or win yet 2) Chiefs are further ahead in the window/process than Bills are and have already proven they can be as good, if not better than previous chiefs teams that had guys like Hill, Honey Badger, etc. Bills are likely going to lose some key guys like the chiefs did after this year and it will have to prove they can compensate for that like the Chiefs apparently have.
  8. I honestly don't even know if that would matter considering Mahomes seems to be even better on the road than at home. But that's just it, this guy has never even had to play a road playoff game yet which is insane in itself when you think about it.
  9. You really have to wonder if Nate Hackett is in over his head. Just seemed to look really lost and confused the whole game. Pressure is going to ramp up quickly if the Broncos lose again this week and continue to look sloppy with questionable coaching decisions. And to be honest I think they probably should have given Fangio another year especially with a viable QB option in Wilson.
  10. I'm happy for Daboll but the Giants were a bit lucky considering the Titans missed an otherwise makeable FG. But I do love his decision to go for 2 and the win late in the game to set the tone for the rest of the season and won't be surprised if this team ends up being much better than expected. Possibly similar to the 2017 Bills and how they exceeded expectations.
  11. Like I said, if the dolphins go in to Baltimore and win the ramifications for this game will be huge. Dolphins played us pretty tight in the 2nd game in Buffalo last year despite ultimately losing. At some point they are going to beat the Bills again and week 3 presents a prime opportunity for that.
  12. The biggest concern with the Chiefs is how their front office seems to keep striking gold and finding multiple starters/possible stars each year in the draft. Brett Veach is truly the best in the business based on what he's done the last 3 years. McDuffie had zero yards allowed in coverage before leaving with an injury Karlafits had 6 pressures at DE Moore had a big kick return and reception Pacheco had almost 100 all purpose yards and a TD. If this continues I really don't see how the Bills can touch this team as long as Reid and Mahomes are there to reap all these rewards.
  13. Story of the young year so far. Hard not to root for a 6th round pick beating on a 1st rounder from a top program. This team might have a very good problem once White is back in terms of who sees snaps on the other side.
  14. Agree, and the dilemma the 49ers have now is basically 2 options: 1) Stick with Lance and crash and burn with him or hope he improves as the season goes on and contend with him, if the former happens jobs will likely be lost since the 49ers are a team built to win now. 2) Pull the plug very soon if he don't improve and go back to Jimmy G for rest of year. If that happens you really can't go back to Lance (barring another injury to jimmy g) and you essentially throw in the towel. My guess is that they will stay the course but he's going to have to improve dramatically to even be serviceable which is the claim that's all Jimmy G is/was.
  15. Going to be the best TE in NFL history when all is said and done. Was good before Mahomes and obviously on another level with him throwing the ball his way. I think teams will adjust as the season goes on and more tape is out there but even if you try and take Kelce out of the game someone else is just going to go off when you have the best QB in the NFL throwing the ball.
  16. Hopefully that's the case then because I don't see a path to the SB that involves playing KC in the playoffs again this year, home or away.
  17. I know some of you think this is fun and games, but the Dolphins are hungry and looking to make a move. In fact there are videos on social media of their fans saying 'bring on the bills' after dominating the patriots yesterday. This McDaniel cat is strange but may truly be a football savant if he can turn things around in Miami...
  18. We turned the ball over way too much and it was anybody's game at halftime. My point is if the Rams are a crap team this year the Bills might not be as good and already way too overconfident. And for the love of god someone really needs to tell McD that Zack Moss is not a good football player and to stop wasting carries on this waste of space. Same thing with Mckenzie to a certain degree.
  19. If the Dolphins someone beat the Ravens I'll truly be concerned about week 3, deep down I already am unfortunately.
  20. If you are talking about the SNF game last year it was proven to be a fluke in hindsight. Until we beat the chiefs in a playoff game nothing changes for me and guarantee the chiefs have zero fear of the bills. If they take care of business and don't beat themselves nobody is beating them including the bills sadly.
  21. For the bills sake I truly hope the Rams aren't a dud this year and a 7 win type of team or we might be looking at a far different reality for this team a few months from now. Other thoughts - for reasons relevant to the bills I hope the Cardinals are as bad as they looked or you might as well get ready for the Chiefs to be hoisting another SB trophy in Feb. Titans/Giants - happy for Daboll but still not sure they are going to be that good this year, also think titans will be fine and head to Buffalo ready to prove something. Bengals showed what happens when a good team turns the ball over consistently and their game was eerily similar to Bills opener last year against the same team, but think they'll be fine in long run. Steelers are going to be in big trouble going forward without Watt. I'm not a Trey Lance fan and 49ers are in a for a long season if they don't go back to Jimmy G sooner than later, chicago could surprise though despite a lot of folks thinking they'd be competing with Lions for last place in NFCN. Raiders are going to be good despite losing to chargers and I wouldn't be surprised if every team in the AFCW wins their home matchups against eachother this year because that's how good every team there is.
  22. I'll never understand how a fanbase whose team's last two seasons have come to an end at the hands of KC still think we are somehow better than them including QB, coach, etc. And deep down I still worry that Mahomes is the next Brady or something more which means the best we can hope for Allen is he's the next Peyton Manning and can win even just one ring while Mahomes is playing in the same league.
  23. Every fan should be cautiously optimistic for a number of reasons. For all we know the Rams might be a 6 win team this year. I doubt it but I'm always going to be skeptical until i see a bigger sample size. And even if the bills steamroll the titans next week there's going to be question marks considering they lost at home to the Giants who most folks thought would be in contention for #1 overall pick. For me we'll truly learn a lot about this team starting week 3 against the Fish because that's the first of what looks to be a true murderers row up until midseason.
  24. Assuming Tua is who he is so to speak, it still may be good enough for Miami this year assuming they can win games consistently against teams they should beat. If Tua doesn't step up they obviously going to have uphill climb against the bills and other top contenders.
  25. Need to see a little more, specifically week 3 against us....
