  1. I'm leaning that direction too although still think Mahomes is probably going to have his best season of his career and be the MVP frontrunner this year.
  2. I haven't decided anything yet, and quite frankly I can easily see this team failing to come close to expectations because of one main elephant in the room named Sean McDermott. What I'm referencing is the collective expectations of most fans on this forum, social media, etc talking superbowl or bust. But again, regardless of what this team does or doesn't do has nothing to do with the aspirations of 31 other NFL teams including our 3 division rivals, two of which should be pretty solid worst case.
  3. IMO Raiders are probably going to be much better than people expect which is hard to say about a WC team from the previous season. Everyone talking about Chargers and Broncos taking down Chiefs but Raiders could be one of those grimy teams that sneaks up everyone. Jones/Crosby easily the best DE combo in the league and Adams will put that offense over the top. Still think Carr is much better than people give him credit for too and is the best QB McDaniels has worked with not named Tom Brady.
  4. The dolphins and pats don't need their QB's to be superstars to be contenders and/or threaten the Bills for the AFCE crown. It's just weird seeing a fan base who went through 17 years of disappointment and failure look down on other teams that have a lot more success overall and bills mafia is setting themselves up for a major humbling if things don't go as planned...which is pretty much SB victory or bust at this point.
  5. Herbert's the real deal and has the same amount of head to head wins against the chiefs and Mahomes that Allen does. I'm not necessarily buying their SB hype because they haven't even been to the playoffs yet with Herbert but all the talent is there (on paper) for them to be among the league's elite teams. Also I would be very surprised if the Bengals miss the playoffs unless they get hit with serious injuries like the Ravens did last year. Speaking of the Ravens too me they are a team everyone is sleeping on and I see them among the leagues elite teams this year if they are relatively healthy again.
  6. I don't put much stock in one or two bad practices vs. the totality of the entire offseason in which there's been a lot of hype over how both Tua/Jones have looked and both of them also sat in their first preseason games as well which tells me the respective coaching staffs didn't feel they needed the reps and/or wanted to risk injury to them. Also if a few bad practices mattered, the same rule would apply to JA17 and other established top QB's in this league.
  7. I guess but one game isn't really enough of a sample size to truly know if he's an upgrade yet. But even if it's even between him and Hauck he's obviously getting the nod for the job.
  8. I understand why teams want to be conservative during the preseason and not risk injury, but by the same token you also risk injuries with guys who have had had little to no contact during camp/preseason once the live bullets start flying. I also think getting off to a slow start and losing to a physical team like the Steelers in the opener last year also had a lot to do with this team being overconfident and not ready because most of the key players didn't get many preseason snaps. Therefore I'm in the camp that thinks we should get the starters some action for at least a quarter or so in one of the next few games. KC had no problem trotting out Mahomes and a lot of their key guys last week and that's the team we are ultimately still gunning for.
  9. Teams know the 49ers are likely going to cut him soon so no point in wasting a draft pick right now unless they are forced to because of an injury issue. Also still think the 49ers are taking a big risk putting all their eggs in lance's basket in favor of a guy who took their team to a SB and nearly won it just a few years ago. In fact they were a few minutes away from getting to another SB last year as well with him.
  10. Wilson looks like one of those unlucky guys with injuries so far in his career and will be surprised if he makes it through the upcoming season whenever he's ready to play.
  11. Seems like this punt god stuff is already getting old. There's nothing this kid is doing that we didn't see already with a guy like Bojo who everyone raved about after the Pats tried hiding him and we brought him here. Still think Hauck has a better chance to make the team over him than most probably expect.
  12. It's bad mojo to keep downplaying and underestimating the competition. Both Tua and Mac Jones have looked to improve significantly during offseason/camp so far. Question of course is what happens when it matters most when the regular season starts.
  13. You guys are funny, do you really think he has anything to do with the ingredients or manufacture of this product other than his name and face on the label? Just like Josh's Jaques, TO's, Flutie flakes, etc. I think I even tried some JA17 bbq sauce recently...
  14. I don't know why so many Bills fans are triggered by this. Who really cares honestly. But as I've said all along, Jones is a good player and had a great rookie season especially when compared to some of the all time/HOF type players rookie campaigns. He wasn't the sole reason the Pats bounced back and made the playoffs last year but he was a big part of it. Doesn't mean he's destined for Canton just yet but if he continues to develop and gets better the Pats certainly have their next franchise QB for the next 15 years, so if that's what has some fans hot and bothered over this I certainly understand.
  15. There are a lot of candidates for trade bait on this roster right now, some more valuable than others. So I won't be surprised if Beane tries making a move to land a veteran DB or stock on draft picks for next year.
  16. If there is any truth to this expect the Bills to make a move for a veteran DB sooner than later, either FA or trade. One thing is for certain though right now is that you can't tell the difference between a 6th round rookie DB and 1st round rookie DB when looking at how Benford and Elam have performed respectively. In fact it's not even crazy to suggest that Benford looks like the better player and 1st round pick so far. Either way don't be surprised if this secondary struggles big time the first half of the season especially if White isn't ready until midseason which I still think is the reality many fans aren't understanding.
  17. If you feel you have found a real gem in the late round I don't think you can risk cutting him and exposing him to waivers especially with the Giants and many other teams lurking to dumpster dive other (good) teams rosters. Obviously you can't read too much into one preseason game but pretty much all of this years draft class has shown something worthwhile so far.
  18. Beane has shown he loves keeping his draft picks no matter what so if Hodgins keeps up the solid camp/preseason it's going to be at the expense of touchdown jesus or even Crowder who could be somewhat of a surprise cut.
  19. Nothing shocking here. Daboll and Schoen probably have a whole list of guys from this team they are hoping to add to their roster and practice squad for evaluation this year.
  20. Nobody knew what this team was going to be in 2017 after yet another regime change just a few years after the last one with Rex Ryan. And both Beane and McD have pretty much admitting that they felt it was going to be a transition/rebuilding year which is why said trades were made, but were able to sneak into the playoffs after hot start combined with a fateful Andy Dalton pass on 4th and 17 in the waning minutes of a game all of Bills nation was watching intently.
  21. Lot of unwarranted hype over guys like Willis, Lance, etc especially when you see the JA17 comparisons. I still don't see him starting this year though unless Tannenhill truly struggles and/or the Titans get off to a bad start record wise. Could see a similar situation playing out like the 2018 Ravens when Lamar Jackson replaced a declining Flacco and led them to the playoffs down the stretch.
  22. Not saying he was terrible after those first two years, but it's no coincidence his most productive years here were playing opposite Mario Williams and in an attacking style scheme under Pettine/Schartz. At the end of the day he's always really been a very good #2 DE/borderline #1DE but never a true game changer and why we certainly should have pulled the trigger on releasing him sooner. There's rumblings out of houston that he may not even make their final roster which says a lot but is not necessarily surprising since he's at the end of the road.
  23. Solid move by the Jets in terms of picking up one of the few good FA's left on the market and ensuring that Wilson can be protected and thoroughly evaluated in his crucial second NFL season.
  24. There's a reason why McD has been evasive on this topic when asked about it during various interviews in camp so far. And given the nature of his injury and how important he is to the team I get the sense the organization will be as cautious as possible with him. This is why I think even midseason is wishful thinking and he probably won't be nearly as effective as he was pre-injury until 2023 anyway. This also raises the question as to why this team did not adequately address DB in the offseason in terms of a viable veteran signing. I guess there is still time to do this via FA/Trade/roster cuts, etc but it's playing with fire IMO given the upcoming schedule and how bad this defense was without him against real competition (i.e. Bucs game/KC playoff debacle).
  25. And this is likely 100% fact especially if the players on this team truly give a damn. The game was won (not once but twice in the final 2 minutes) and the "#1 defense' and horrendous coaching blew it 3 straight series including the OT period. This is why no matter what fans want to believe, if I'm the Pegulas anything short of a SB (appearance) and you have to seriously consider cutting the cord on McD. If this team struggles and for some reason don't even make the playoffs, and/or is one and done (especially if said opponent is KC again) it's an even easier decision IMO to make the coaching change immediately. But with Bease you are probably right and not sure he left just because of the 13 seconds stuff..
